I was referred to Cornerstone for a possible root canal. Their team took their own X-rays and 3D images, which revealed that the root of the suspicious tooth was crooked and extremely close to a nerve. After thorough testing, Dr. Miranda determined that my tooth had normal sensitivity and did not need a root canal after all. What impressed me most was Dr. Miranda's honesty and attention to detail. She explained that because the root is so close to the nerve, attempting a root canal could very likely cause permanent numbness in that area of my face. Instead of performing an unnecessary procedure, she took the ethical and professional approach and advised against it. I brought my son in for emergency root canals. The Endodontist was great but their back office billing has been a nightmare. Like other reviews I was told I had to pay in full or set up a payment plan through one of their payment plan options. We have three insurances to cover my son's dental. I set up the payment plan for a service in April it is now August. Primary insurance paid (in-network) which reduced the total amount owed from 4,400 to 1,400 per my plan. Secondary insurance paid as primary and it has taken months to get that sorted out. I have now paid 1,800 in total (over the price of what primary says is owed by me). Corner stone refuses to stop the payment plan and continues to charge me over $400 a month. They have stated that they cannot contact the payment plan since it's third party to adjust or stop payments. I have verified this is not true with Cherry (the payment plan provider offered by cornerstone). They continue to charge me over the amount primary insurance says is owed while secondary insurance reprocesses and they then send to our third insurance. I have not asked for a refund and understand they need to process through all insurances, however the fact that I could be charged an additional 900 while they wait feels unethical. I have never experienced this with another health or dental provider. read more

I went here for my first ever root canal and it went extremely well with no issues during the procedure and very little discomfort afterwards during recovery. The endodontist had great bedside manner and communicated very clearly, asking did his assistant. Even without the ability to speak during the procedure, I was able to raise my hand to signal if I was feeling pain (though I never needed to!) He also checked in every so often to make sure I was doing ok, asking for a thumbs up if all was well. I'll absolutely be going here should I ever need an endodontist again! read more

Oh my gosh, Dr. Holman in the Lees Summit, Missouri office is a Godsend! I had an abscessed tooth that had already gone septic to pneumonia and that had sent me to the ER and docs over a month...I also have drug allergies/sensitivities and anxiety with new things. He was AMAZING! Such a gentle doc who explained everything and was very sensitive to me as a patient. I only wish He did general dentistry also because He is THAT GOOD and I highly recommend him. This place is more fun than a root canal! Yeah, it had to be said. I recently had a root canal for the first time and I have to admit that I was more than a bit anxious about it having heard horror stories. But I have to say that it wasn't nearly as awful as I'd imagined. Mine took a long time...I hear molars do. And apparently my roots were a bit challenging, so my procedure took a bit of time, but despite that, it was really a pretty good experience. And I truly appreciate that Dr. Holman took the time to do it right. Dr. Holman did his best to put me at ease throughout and he did a good job of explaining what was going to happen each step of the way which helps to alleviate any anxiety. The office staff were kind and proficient as well. I truly hope I never have to have a root canal again, but if I did, I would certainly go back to Dr. Holman. read more

I had a seriously infected tooth that I had put off getting a root canal on. Sadly, I couldn't find anyone who was in network that could get me in to do the work before I had to leave for the Christmas holiday. Cornerstone did an excellent job of getting me in right away. I was VERY comfortable during the procedure--I actually dozed off through most of it! It wasn't painful at all. I would highly recommend their office if you find yourself in need of a root canal. Three years ago, I went to a dentist in Shawnee (who is thankfully no longer practicing) to have some of my amalgams removed. He badly botched the job and sent me away from his office with temporary crowns and told me I'd need to go have a root canal and come back. Well, he was right about the root canal anyway, which he caused. By the time I made it to Dr. Kim's chair at Cornerstone, I had a massive, painful infection and a fever. Dr. Kim and the staff at Cornerstone are AMAZING, WONDERFUL PEOPLE. They have continued to provide the very best service I've ever had, anywhere. Follow up appointment were excellent, Dr. Kim was incredibly accessible as I healed from my infection, and I now tell everyone, if you must have a root canal, then you must go here. The root canal process was honestly easier than many fillings I've had, and it was surprisingly fast, having two done at the same time. I will never go anywhere else. I wish they provided general dentistry services, too! If you want someone who will listen, explain, not rush you or judge you, I'm pretty sure that's everyone in the entire office. If youre like me before anything like a dentist pr Dr. Visit you scour reviews for a little reassurance. Hopefully this will help you. Today I had my second root canal after months of trying to repair two cracked molars. The first time I was referred to Dr Randall due to the location of the tooth and when I realized I needed a second one I had the option to come back to my dentists office or go back to Dr. Randall. Now, I absolutely love my dentist's office, and I recommend any of the dentists there, but Dr. Randall is the only person I wanted to do this procedure again. He's a very kind gentle person who explains all your options and answers all of your questions. If you're a nervous person (like me) he is a perfect fit for your care. Today when he told me "if it was my wife or daughter I would have them get the procedure but it's completely up to you" I believed him. I'm only a couple of hours after this last root canal, but the one in January was 100% painless during and less then 24 hours after I was up and about, feeling fine. The entire office is very kind and gelpful. They all remember you and do their best to make everystep as easy as possible- including payment which was the only truly painful part. 100% would recommend Cornerstone and Dr. Randall to anyone needing a root canal or any other procedure like it. read more

Having a root canal is something I always heard was absolutely terrifying, and awful. While I can say it wasn't on my top 10 favorite things in life, Cornerstone really did a great job of making it bearable. I'm terrified of needles, and Dr. Holman was amazing. My first appointment was scheduled the same day; they worked me in on a Friday afternoon. He was very communicative, thorough and patient and used his entire 'back of tricks over the course of (3) visits (no extra charges, either) to complete this challenging root canal with a pesky calcified root. Dr. Randall did my root canal and I was crying tears of joy afterwards- it had been hurting so badly and he was so gentle! Nobody wants to have a root canal, but this was completely bearable. He made sure I was completely numbed up (shots) and I didn't feel like a wimp for telling him when/where it wasn't number (and, in turn, he wasn't upset or annoyed by me saying something). Everyone there was very kind and I appreciate that they were up front about the cost. A root canal, without insurance, ran me a little under $1500. I was in very little pain and went to a concert that night. Also, I appreciate the extra effort they put in to my work- my dad is a dentist and he likes to see when something needs work, even if he isn't the one doing so. I am beyond words after my experience with Cornerstone Endodontics. I had some severe tooth pain that was causing some pretty and headaches and grumpiness. I work full time and travel for my job and I have a 2 year old so I'm extremely busy. I don't have time to take a lunch let alone a root canal. On Wednesday around 3PM I called my dentist to schedule an appointment for an oral exam. My dentist got my in at 9AM the next day. After the exam they referred me to Cornerstone. I couldn't get in until 3:30 PM. After I made the appointment and left Cornerstone called me and told me they could move things around to get my in right away. Within 2 hours, I had a dentist appointment, Dr. Holman did an evaluation AND a root canal (last minute I might add) and I was back at work. They were patient with me and so kind. Dr. Holman was the most professional and personable Dr. I have ever met with. I feel so much better and I am so happy I was able to experience this procedure with the staff at Cornerstone. I would strongly advise people to be cautious before getting even a consultation (much less a procedure), since they did not appear to want to be transparent about out of pocket costs. While everyone was very kind and pleasant to speak with, the billing practices were a little 'shady'. After getting a consultation, I attempted to get an estimate for a root canal. Since I am a physician, I familiar with what questions to ask about billing. It took quite a while to corner the billing staff attendant to finally disclose that they were out of network with my insurance and would ask for $1300 for the procedure. It felt like she had every intent of being evasive about costs until it would have been almost too late for me to back out. Be careful! Dr. Holman did my root canal yesterday. I found out at 9am that I needed one and was none to happy about it, tears might have ensued. I've never even had a cavity or any type of dental work done besides wearing braces. My dentist scheduled my appointment at Cornerstone for noon. I got there a little before to fill out paperwork. Everyone was very nice and very prompt. I had my husband come with me into the room because I was freaked out and scared. Everyone explained exactly what they were doing and why. Dr. Holman was so very nice and has excellent bedside manner. He explained what was going to happen and how it would all be done as well as talking through what he was doing during the actual procedure. He said to make sure to tell him if I felt anything. At the very beginning, I felt a little bit so I let him know and he made it very numb, it was excellent. Not that I want to get another root canal but it was not bad at all. I highly recommend them if you need a root canal. Like I said, Dr. Holman and his techs were so nice.
