The receptionist called me at 3:05 and asked me if I was coming I told her I would try to make it but my son was working and would not make it. She told me I had to be there within 15 min so by 3:45 for them to see me. I got there pretty close to 3:50 they refused to see me and billed me for two missed appts. I paid one and sent an explanation on the bill. When I arrived they told me they had to close at 4:30. They didn't have time to see me. I have zero issues and feel pretty confident they could have cleaned my teeth and not charged me for a missed appointment. I haven't forgotten a dental appt in over 10 years. Today I called them to pay a bill as when my son went they put fluoride on his teeth which they know is not covered. They upcharge and payments on credit cards and charge you the patient! This is unbelievable to me. Not the greatest service. Not going back.

Although Dr Kong may be passionate about his work, it may be wise to also be a bit more empathetic to the fact that these procedures can be very costly and daunting for patients. The biggest disappointment though were the office staff! The person handling the billing seemed paticularly incompetent. Despite having been provided all insurance information, including contact info, policy info, and fee schedule, several weeks prior to the scheduled appointment, on the day of appointment this person claimed to not have been able to verify or confirm any of the insurance info and demanded the full, noninsurance cash price for treatment. Keep in mind that the insurance company is one of the major insurers in the area, not some no-name, off-brand insurance company. How is it even possible to not be able to verify insurance information when you've had up to two months to do so, or to not even bother to let the patient know there was an issue? Truly disappointing! Even more problematic were the sanitary practices used by the person operating the CT scan. Although this person wore gloves, she used a keyboard to control the scanner, and then would literally stick her fingers into my mouth to adjust the teeth positioner, and then go back to the keyboard. This was repeated several times, but I saw no evidence that the keyboard was sanitized between patients! WTF?? This is not good! In hindsight I should have immediately addressed my concern, as I now have real fears as to what bacteria or virus I may have been exposed to! At the very least a peroxide rinse should have been offered. Again, Dr. Kong seems competent, but the competency of his staff is dubious at best. Buyer beware!

Dr. Knewtson was tasked with placing 4 implants and making a horseshoe implant supported denture for me after I had some poorly fitted crowns with a well known nationwide dentistry that had failed. He was direct and he was very patient with my needs which to me was massively important !!! No matter what frustration I had (and believe me I had issues) Dr. Knewtson remained patient and professional until my final procedure was completed successfully. Simply he did his job and he did his job well. The end result is what matters the most. Would I recommend him? ...absolutely!!! I have never had any issues since the whole procedure was done. The only sad thing I can actually say is that Dr. Knewtson is no longer in the Springfield MO area. I think however a 4hr drive for his services would be well worth it. The staff gave alignment had me sign no warranty or money back right before getting alignment. I asked about regular cleaning I was told they absolutely could not do a cleaning without my dental records from CA I paid to have them sent . It turns out they meant scaling which I had not decided I wanted yet. I feel they wanted money. I may need the scaling but I didn't wish to be pushed into it and the regular cleaning wasn't even an option. Now I need to have a tooth looked at but I'm afraid to go back to them. Son had wisdom teeth extraction. They did not supply a quote until 2 days prior to procedure, even…read morethough I requested one twice, several weeks in advance. Any time I needed to call them, had to call multiple times due to no one answering phone. On day of procedure before starting, discussed an impacted tooth and that they could expose and move said tooth since they were already in his mouth. They never said it would have an additional charge until after the procedure was done then said they would advise of amount after sending to insurance. 1.5 weeks later I get a bill for nearly $1,300.00 which was more than I paid for the 4 wisdom teeth to be removed. They refused to discount the additional charges, which were not covered by insurance. They only supplied a little gauze for after care. Other surgeon offices provide enough gauze for full aftercare as well as ice packs. I was treated as if this place only wants your money, they do not care about the patient or treating people like human beings. They also switched the location from where I made the appointment, but no one told me this until the day before when they called to go over what to do before coming in.
