The play areas are fun, creative, and actually really clean, which was a nice surprise. You can tell they put effort into keeping the place nice, and that goes a long way. If you're looking for a fun place to let the kids burn some energy, especially when the weather isn't great, this is such a good option. Definitely adding it to our list of go-to spots for local fun!

A very clean venue, with great snacks, concessions, and accoutrements. A professional and nice staff. Reasonably priced. Plenty of parking, literally, right in Route 18. It's a fun activity. Still, the environments created around said turtles are whimsical, educational and awe-inspiring for the little 'uns. An extra star for free admission to YMCA members, and for the enjoyable outdoor space, which includes a chicken hutch, active gardens, stone circles for pagan worship (I kid, or do I?) and about a billion chipmunks. Seriously, it's like Alvin attained Beiber status and all the teen chips are swarming for an autograph. Excellent programming and festivals throughout the year - even a Corn Fest! - and, as mentioned, completely free for YMCA members. Solid way to knock out an hour or two if your spawn is being a terror. Or obsesses over turtles. Or both.

Currently sitting outside the museum in my car IN SHOCK at what just happened. It is exactly 2:16pm. Museum closes at 3pm. We have our 3 yr old granddaughter asleep in the car and we've been parked outside for 15 minutes giving her a few more minutes nap before going inside - since THE MUSEUM CLOSES AT 3PM. She usually only spends a half hour there (we have a membership). I then see someone (older woman, short blonde/grey hair) walk outside and then walk back in. It looked like she was locking the door!! So I get out of the car and walk up, the door is locked. I knock. No answer. I knock again. No one comes to door but I can hear people inside and I JUST SAW this woman two minutes ago come out to lock the door. So I knock again thinking surely she'll come to the door. Nope. Then I see the sign, "doors lock 45 minutes prior to closing!" My watch says 2:14...it's NOT 45 MINUTES BEFORE YET. Plus she locked the door a minute ago, so she had to have locked it at 2:13. Now, you want to close a couple minutes early? Ok, fine, I get it. But when someone walks up in time - you let them in if it's within posted hours! I look up the museum's phone # and call. The woman answers: "Hi, I'm standing outside the door and it's locked, but we have our granddaughter and I was giving her a few minutes more to sleep. I just saw you come outside. I was sitting in my car right out front. Can I bring her in, she'll only be in for half hour?" "No, I'm sorry, you can't." (WHAT??) "But it's just right this very minute 2:15!" "Yes, that's why the doors are locked" "But you locked them early!" "I'm sorry" You have got to be kidding me!! I've read the bad reviews about this museum before and still, I bought a membership. I knew about their very limited hours (aimed at closing whenever school aged children are out of school) and still I bought a membership. I've been here plenty of times and have seen the number of exhibits that are broken, missing pieces, not working and still I've come back - because their arts and crafts area is worth it. But after today - never again. I would advise against anyone joining this museum just due to the horrible attitude of (some) of their employees. I truly believe there are a few employees who are nice (art table) but I've seen this woman at the register when I've arrived and witnessed her give others a hard time before. She is working in the wrong industry. She needs to be in a non customer-facing position. CME - you should be ashamed. Locking your doors early then telling a customer standing outside at EXACTLY 2:15 (she did not dispute the timing) that they cannot come in. Unbelievable. Oh, we drove 40 minutes to get here. The town of Easton is being done a disservice to have this museum within their city limits, as the association alone gives them a bad name. A change in staff is definitely needed here.

There is a full kitchen, 2 levels, a beautiful brick center focal point and lovely high ceilings and very attractive two toned paint scheme on the walls. The coordinator was very pleasant and extremely easy to work with detailing all the do's- and dont's of renting. I did a somewhat casual 40th party here and it was great. I was able to bring all sorts of drinks/foods on my own making it really cost effective opposed to having a bar tender. There was plenty of tables and chairs already set up when i arrived. I will certainly be renting it again for other events and i am certain some of my guests will too.

How have I never been in this beautiful and delightful shop before!?…read moreNow that I've rectified that major misstep I am can honestly say I am thrilled to have stumbled into the shop after a recent lunch in The Fork in the Road which is adjacent. I was warmly welcomed by Lisa when I walked in...always such a nice touch to be welcomed into a shop and sadly it happens far too infrequently these days. I don't think many shop owners realize how wonderful that personal touch is. Local Pottery is filled with a gorgeous and wide variety of pottery selections made by a number of different artisans. Everything was simply stunning. Plates, platters, bowls, dishes, creamers...you name it. As well, there is an assortment of handmade jewelry. There are a variety of price points so I think most anyone can find something lovely that they can afford. The pottery had so many gorgeous finishes and colors. It's stunning inside. I am sure I didn't even take all of it in yet. Lisa told me they change the merchandise frequently so there will regularly be something new to look at. I really hadn't gone in with the intention of buying anything but I found a very large tea mug that I thought would make a nice gift. By the time I got home, I decided I needed that gift myself! So much for my good intentions. However, I plan to return in the next couple of days because my cousin has a birthday coming up and in hindsight, I think she would love a pair of glass earrings I saw. Lisa told me they have a festive time in the store over the Christmas holiday and I can only imagine how fun shopping here for gifts will be. Local Pottery is on the main drag of Washington Street in Norwell but tucked behind Trattoria San Pietro. Don't just zip by in your car as clearly I've done for far too long.
