I took her to Angell Memorial Hospital and medical care began. My name was the only name on the account. At no time was anyone from Gofi allowed to visit Karma in the ICU unit. After I left Angell, the Executive Director of Gofi Dogs visited without telling me. She told them she was the "co-owner" of Karma. They denied her access. Angell called later that week and said an "irate woman was calling them, verbally abusing three staff members, and trying to get access to Karma." They denied her again. Several Gofi staff members told me they witnessed this and said the Executive Director was completely unhinged. The Executive Director called me a few days later and said, "If I had known Karma needed dialysis and had been allowed access to her, I would've had her euthanized." READ THAT AGAIN. I don't care about the bullying, harassment, getting the Walpole police involved (the Executive Director did that too), calling a lawyer she knew I'd contact (more on that later), the lack of communication, or the flip-flopping about how much money she demanded. I only care about what Karma had to go through. Because the account was in my name only, Karma had that fighting chance. And because of that, she's alive. If it had been the Executive Director of Gofi Dogs' decision, Karma wouldn't be. READ THAT AGAIN TOO. Karma had no one as she sat in that cage for days with tubes sticking out of her and having no idea if I was coming back. That is beyond inexcusable. I sent an email to the Board of Directors of Gofi Dogs. I never heard back from them. Not. A. Word. The Executive Director of Gofi Dogs set up a fundraising platform for Karma and raised well over $1000. I never saw a dime. I contacted a lawyer and he said, "If you have any social media content up, take it down." "Why?" I asked. "Someone from Gofi contacted me and warned me about you. They don't want their reputation tarnished." I asked if it was the Executive Director of Gofi. "No," he said, "It was someone else on their board." The Executive Director also had my review taken down somehow so this is my second posting. Unethical, conniving, and shady all around.

I adopted Bishop through Greyhound Pets of America. This group works tirelessly to place former…read moreracing greyhound into loving homes. Firstly, greyhounds are great pets. They are very different from your average dog. Basically, they are lazy loafers. Some might say that their indoor personality is more cat-like than dog-like. They are very sensitive and sweet. They appreciate all the love you give them. The also appreciate a soft bed and a good snooze. One of the reasons I went with GPA after doing my research was because they foster the dogs before giving them to you. Other groups take dogs right from the track and kennel them until you come and save them. This group takes them into homes. When racing greyhounds come off the track, they are pretty confused. They don't know anything about living with people. They've never been pet. They've never climbed stairs, or seen a TV. They don't know what children are. It helps that the folks at GPA get the learning process going. They also get the vet stuff taken care of, even nursing a broken leg or toe. (At the track a minor injury could be a death sentence.) GPA holds an open house once a month where you can come and meet the available dogs. They also do show and tell things at some local pet stores/malls. The folks are wonderful and very helpful along the way. Before I could pick out my dog, I had to meet with them to ensure my home was going to work, and that I was a good dog owner. Yes, I guess it was an interview. They are serious about keeping the dogs safe and sending them to loving homes. Total cost to me wasa $150 donation (if I recall correctly). They are non-profit. It takes a little bit of understanding to teach the greyhound the way once you get one home, but they get it pretty quickly. As the months go by, they learn to relax, and the personality really comes out of them. They are funny. They can be stubborn. They think they are lapdogs, which at 70 pounds, can be hysterical. While you are comfortably spread out in your bed, the greyhound will climb up and curl into the smallest available space. By morning, the positions will be reversed. Bishop has been a great pet, a good buddy for a long time now. If you've ever thought about adopting a greyhound, contact GPA. I used the folks in central NH, but there are chapters everywhere. There are plenty of other adoption groups as well.... Yes this review is shameless. It's like reviewing your children.

Our home was so lonely and too quiet, we were in need of a sweet puppy to love (our 5 year old Alaskan Malamute included). Our daughter, who's a Veterinary Technician, was contacted by them. They found the perfect match for us. We fell in love immediately with her and she's brought our home back to life again . The people at Pacheco kennels are so helpful and kind, they keep in touch with us to make sure everything is going well. Their kennels are immaculate! You can tell that the animals are all well loved and taken care of. We are in love with the English Labrador breed and are now loyal clients of Pacheco kennels !

She smelled so bad I'm certain she she was never bathed. She has zero muscle tone and her stomach drags o. The ground. She was used as a machine and then tossed when she wasn't useful I personally would never go to a breeder for an animal, but there are breeders out there. They do not treat their dogs like rubbish. This girl is a mess and she'll never understand what it is to be loved.

Bella the pittie mix was in their care for over a month, during which time they treated the multiple serious conditions this abandoned dog came in with, including surgical treatment for a painful eye infection. When I met Bella at the facility, I got to see her interact with several of the caring staff and volunteers: Bella was obviously very comfortable and attached to them all. It was touching to see each person take a private moment to sit on the floor, pet her and say their personal goodbyes. From the copy of the extensive veterinarian medical records I was given, I can see that Bella's vet care was proactive, thorough, expert, and regular. Perhaps most importantly there was evidence that Dr. Walz sought and valued the insights of the staff and volunteers who provided daily and hourly care to Bella. For example, medication was issued for a finite period based on the observations of the attentive staff (hives with which Bella came into the shelter reappeared after she ate a peanut butter treat, then a few minutes later ate a bee in the play yard). Bella and I have now been together for weeks and I am learning more about her behavioral and trust issues from being abandoned that will take us time to heal with patience and training. Realizing this makes me all the more impressed with how comfortable, safe and happy she demonstrated herself to feel when I observed her in the care of the shelter staff and volunteers.
