Open every Sunday from 11-3 from May-October, there is a small store that sells fresh eggs from the chickens, local honey, goat milk soap, as well as jewelry, t-shirts, gift baskets, and home decor. Group tours can be arranged, as well as birthday parties; the farm is open for smaller tours during events through the spring, summer, and fall.

Every year the Sheriff's Farm hosts a Family Farm Festival - they bring in construction vehicles for touch a truck, have a hay ride through the farm, and have other fun crafts and activities for the kids. In 2024, the festival was 9/28 and our family had a wonderful time. Double check that the farm is open before you head over - it's got seasonal hours. There's only a port a potty for restrooms. (I recommend the bathroom at Dunkin about a block away instead.)

The day we toured, we were provided with a thorough packet of options, flexible and fair payment plans, and a detailed timeline of events, making the organizational component of this experience flawless. We booked our wedding fairly far out, but CCB continued to reach out and connect with us over the course of two years. As our wedding day got closer, they provided efficient in-person meetings where we never felt rushed and always felt welcomed to create our perfect day. Throughout the planning process, we worked closely with Stacy, Drew, Matt, and Tim (and many others), who all displayed such professionalism while also having charismatic personalities that were contagious! In those meetings, we didn't just plan; we got to know the CCB family more and shared a lot of laughs. The CCB tasting event was an evening my husband, myself, and our parents will cherish forever! It was an incredible night that allowed us to really dive deeper into our wants and needs for the wedding, leaving us feeling confident in all of our choices. With that being said, the food offered through CCB was absolutely delicious! Throughout the entire planning process, the Canoe Club would respond to emails very quickly and with great detail. They even had documents that made collecting meals for our guests easy. We never felt lost in the process and never felt unheard in our requests. It was no surprise that the professional vendors associated with the CCB were all exceptional as well. I cannot even begin to explain the amount of time and energy we saved by having incredible options from trusted professionals built into the Everything But The Dress program! For the vendors we used who were not associated with the venue, CCB was very accommodating. They completed all the organizing between space and equipment needs, as well as coordinated timelines. Everyone was so friendly and talented in their profession. We believe it speaks volumes about the excellence of the Canoe Club that everyone was able to work so seamlessly together! My husband and I still talk about how truly impressive it was that the Canoe Club was on top of everything on the day of our wedding! We were provided a day-of wedding coordinator who kept our bridal parties on track and allowed us to follow the timeline of events we envisioned for our day. We were also so pleased with how well they set everything up and made all of our hard work come to life! We never had to stress about anything on our wedding day, and we were even handed our signature cocktails right after saying our "I dos!" Our guests still comment on how kind all of the people working with CCB were to them. It felt so wonderful to have a venue that wanted the absolute best for us and our guests! We would recommend the Canoe Club Ballroom to anyone and everyone without hesitation. Outside the building in the back. Reception: The main hall is a gorgeous Civil War-era building that used to be a factory. It has the original wood flooring, high ceilings painted white, and decorated with wonderful antique rowing items. However, the rest of the space is decorated like a grandmother's living room. It's kitchy, and not in that good way. Fake flowers, bad carpets, and stuffy antique furniture. It's too bad, because if the space was decorated more cleanly, I think it would be much more appealing. The venue is full of natural light and eclectically decorated with nautical and maritime historical memorabilia. The original floors and high ceiling of the building are breathtaking, and the waterwheel outside is an idyllic spot for an outdoor ceremony. It is a visually interesting venue on its own, which spares you from having to decorate or provide expensive uplighting. We didn't decorate much at all, and the space didn't look bare. Mary, my wedding coordinator, really took to heart my one request. I told her I would rather have an imperfect detail here or there than be overstressed. Mary not only managed the timing and execution of a flawless wedding, but she was a relaxed, positive, and excited presence throughout the planning process. At the wedding, I just kept being told in whispered tones the same thing: "This is the nicest wedding I've ever attended!". I've personally attended several weddings of close friends lately, and I know for a fact we spent significantly less for an exponentially more upscale event. The produce is consistently clean, healthy, raised responsibly and organized neatly. They have a variety of crops and are terrific about educating people about new vegetables. They sell lots of "weeds" that are actually wonderful additions to any pantry, and staff members are pleasant and knowledgeable about how to cook everything and what it tastes like. Much of the leftover produce is donated to the food shelf and other community organizations, and they are conscientious about composting, reusing materials and containers, and avoiding one-use items.
