Amazing property, wonderful tour guides, they have a wild peacock (Gypsy) that hangs around the yard and greets visitors. Can't say I've ever been so close to something so beautiful! We learned so much on our tour, the children were ecstatic and they have a cute little country store you can visit on the way out. Hard to believe there is such a thing as "rare farm animals" but there are- and after seeing how this family spends their lives protecting them, well, you just want to help. They do tours, birthday parties, summer camp, story time and more. I'm told they are at the Scituate Farmers Market on Wednesdays too. I bought a dozen of their fresh eggs, what a difference from lousy store bought eggs!! I also grabbed some local honey- delicious! This family doesn't receive any public funding or grants that I know of- so go support the cause! Your family will love it :)

The store offers a selection of breads, pies, jams and produce. When we arrived though, we found out that the farm is usually closed during the summer (unless you email the owner in advance) and that their website is the only reliable site to see the hours! Luckily, the owner was around and super nice and gave us a tour anyway! There were goats, a mini horse, a mini donkey, and an alpaca herd worthy of the trek we took! All the animals were really friendly, and the owner was incredibly informative. The highlight was probably an extra cuddly mini donkey that ran to my boyfriend and insisted on being pet! Overall - it was a fun adventure and I highly recommend it! I'm sure it's even better once the weather is cooler!

The last time I was here was in…read morethe early 1990's (wow) when the Werme family owned the apple orchard and buying apples was on the 'honor system'. They had a stand with a money box and you took your apples and put your money in the box. Unfortunately, I only stopped once because the apples were very soft and we ended up throwing them away. The new owners have done a lovely job with the orchard and have classes there as well as summer concerts. They have a cute gift shop with seasonal fruit, meat and handmade gifts from local artisans.
