We chose this practice for how great they are with teenagers. We moved here when our oldest was 13 and youngest was 7. They have been so attentive and helpful in all there ages. My favorite part is for teenagers they have T-Shirts and shorts instead of gowns. It is just these small touches that show how well they understand teenagers as well as babies. At our first visit at the Erie office, Dr. McNamara listened attentively and was respectful and validating about my questions and concerns, as well as being friendly and caring. Unlike the office that I'd previously sought care with, he didn't suggest to me, "Don't define yourself by your illness" (and that from a female, albeit a young one - may she never be diagnosed with this painful condition). In contrast, Dr. McNamara understands my efforts at being informed and proactive. I've never been one to play my "tiny violin," and am a survivor/thriver of breast CA who has otherwise been active and healthy my entire life. Suddenly developing an issue with chronic pain was something I'd never dealt with before, and that threw me for quite a loop. I now feel like I have a provider who really understands how debilitating this condition can potentially be. Our first visit was a very thorough one, and I left there feeling like I wasn't being discounted or dismissed. I can't tell you how much that means for someone managing a painful diagnosis that can be difficult to treat, and I feel like I'm now finally in good hands. Dr. McNamara was recommended to me by a provider at my primary's office, and I'm so glad I took his advice to go see him. I will say that the Erie front desk staff is a lot more pleasant than the Boulder front desk. I echo the reviews of others that the front desk at the Boulder office leaves a LOT to be desired. No smiles, very curt, seem like they really don't want to be there. I seem to remember this from a past visit years ago and a less-than-desirable experience with all kinds of miscommunication with nurses when an MD was out on an unexpectedly lengthy family emergency leave. I had my primary take over my basic Rx for estradiol at that point, which was the only reason I was being seen by them, but gave them another chance when Dr. McNamara was recently recommended for this current issue. So glad I did. I can overlook the borderline rude front desk staff just to see him. Also, MA Katie (I think that was her name) was absolutely fantastic. Unfortunately, because of the front desk staff, I'd be hesitant to go there as a first-time parent. You want a more caring experience from the very first moment you call and step in the office waiting room to the time you deliver and beyond, and that includes the front desk. But as far as Dr. McNamara and his assistant, I've had an excellent experience going to BWC.

I have been a patient here for years, since my children were born, and the care used to be…read moreoutstanding. Unfortunately, since Dr. Hill took over and many of the longtime doctors left, the quality of care has noticeably declined. My experiences with the staff and providers have often felt dismissive and uncaring. Rather than feeling listened to and supported, I have frequently felt brushed off and judged. At times, I have overheard conversations and witnessed interactions that made me uncomfortable and gave me the impression that patients' personal situations were being discussed in an unprofessional manner. I have also been frustrated by unexpected charges and bills that were not clearly explained beforehand. Better communication regarding costs and billing would go a long way toward building trust with patients. I have been dealing with an ongoing health issue that has caused significant anxiety, and when I sought help, Dr. Hill made me feel as though I was wrong for coming in and expressing my concerns. Instead of feeling supported, I left feeling discouraged and unheard. What was once a welcoming and compassionate practice no longer feels that way. Patients deserve to feel heard, respected, and cared for, especially when dealing with ongoing health concerns. I am very disappointed with the direction this office has taken and can no longer recommend this practice based on my recent experiences.

I had been going to this clinic since I moved to Colorado. at first, I really liked my PCP. then I…read morecame into her office with a big problem. she diagnosed me very quickly and attempted to start treatment at a facility who doesn't handle cases like mine. that was just the start of my moving away from Intermountain health in general and towards another clinic. In January of 2025, I decided to start my medical gender transition. I asked for a referral and got on hormone replacement therapy. 3 months later, Intermountain health dropped all gender affirming care for everyone, including referrals to other clinics who do it. with no warning, I got a letter in the mail. they have handled everything my family needed very poorly, including diagnosing too quickly, and refusing to assist in multiple ways that I have not mentioned. I will never be going to another clinic, ER, or hospital associated with Intermountain health again.
