I left several messages, letting them know I'd gone to the wrong office. By the time I finally located the new address, drove there, and walked up to them, it was 10 minutes past my appointment time. They refused to see me. I'd taken off work, called them, pleaded with the person at the front desk, asked to speak with the nurse - they still wouldn't see me. I was TEN MINUTES LATE. Their justification was that they emailed me in 2024 that their office moved - which went to my junk mail and sat unread all this time. My daughter is 16 and while I know and am very well aware of HIPAA and further understand that my daughter is allowed to have appointments without me being present, she made the appointment today without knowing what it was for or why she had to go in. When I called to question why they contacted her instead of me, I was told that she is primary on the account because of being 16 so she will be contacted for everything. Keep in mind I have been with this practice since the day she was born, we've had several appointments and visits just this year and I was made to feel like I was in the wrong for canceling the appointment because I couldn't attend. In fact, despite being told that she was primary and her number was on the chart, I was contacted not once but twice last week by the practice regarding a medication refill. When I questioned whether this would be covered by insurance because we've had problems this year, I was told I legally had to make the appointment whether it was covered or not. I have never had a poor experience with this practice before but the fact that they now contact the minor patient before guardian with no explanation or notice seems wrong. I was also told I would be documented for cancelling the appointment and questioning why my daughter was called prior to me. They are still children and while she has the right to not give her health information to me or to have the visit alone, I as her parent should not be made to be in the wrong for questioning a process or requesting information to ensure insurance coverage. If the new process is that all children over the age of 14 are contacted before parent/guardian to schedule appointments, then I would think there should be some sort of notice of this.

Unfortunately, since Dr. Hill took over and many of the longtime doctors left, the quality of care has noticeably declined. My experiences with the staff and providers have often felt dismissive and uncaring. Rather than feeling listened to and supported, I have frequently felt brushed off and judged. At times, I have overheard conversations and witnessed interactions that made me uncomfortable and gave me the impression that patients' personal situations were being discussed in an unprofessional manner. I have also been frustrated by unexpected charges and bills that were not clearly explained beforehand. Better communication regarding costs and billing would go a long way toward building trust with patients. I have been dealing with an ongoing health issue that has caused significant anxiety, and when I sought help, Dr. Hill made me feel as though I was wrong for coming in and expressing my concerns. Instead of feeling supported, I left feeling discouraged and unheard. What was once a welcoming and compassionate practice no longer feels that way. Patients deserve to feel heard, respected, and cared for, especially when dealing with ongoing health concerns.
