Details below First, about me: 1) My hair is straight and notably thick for fine hair. 2) This was my 1st time trying a salon that isn't like $65+/ women's cut. I have taken my probable bias into account while creating this review. I saw Niki (spelling = ?) for a women's haircut. I wanted to trim off several inches to armpit-ish length + soften the edges. Haircut was good. I must mention I witnessed the 2 present hairdressers complaining *in front of clients* about the lack of stylists in the area to hire, and they joked - for a duration that has me convinced it *totally wasn't* a joke - that they'd hire anyone who claims to be a hairstylist just as long as they knew basic color theory. Yikes. So obvs that's big turnoff to a new client + worth mentioning, but the experience was just unsatisfactory overall. Here's the deal. I've talked to so many bubbly hairdressers who are passionate about their work. And I get that a salon is like a family. That's great! But if I'm your family's dinner guest, I expect the host to introduce themself/-selves, maybe offer water/beverage, check in about water temperature, ask about myself, keep conversations with family co-hosts positive and professional, speak of your family to guests with dignity, and, idk, help me feel welcomed throughout? Cool. These expectations - though some were possibly too much - weren't met at Parkway Salon. Nor were some other basic things I'd expect- like an atmosphere where I'm comfortable speaking up or asking for clarification, for a heavy-handed hairdresser to look in my general direction while brushing, for hairdressers to be positive but maybe not carelessly dancing while snipping away, to be asked if I want a receipt, and maybe even to be asked if I want to schedule a next appointment. I could tell Niki was trying to be nice at the beginning and at the very end, though. And, again, I still like my haircut. Maybe the negative atmosphere was from the other client present, or maybe mornings are just rough here.

I called various salons and they were all too busy, perhaps because I was an out of towner they didn't bother. Anyway, when I contacted B Street they figured out a way to fit me in and I was ecstatic! When I arrived, I was overheated, they immediately offered me cold water and were so super friendly and down to earth. They even offered me some tips for places to visit. My stylist was Kiley, she did an amazing job on my hair, again super friendly and she even gave me a welcome to Savannah gift. I live in Delaware but I wish I was local or a regular in Savannah because I would definitely visit your salon again. I highly reccomend B Street, they were the best. It's always a little nerve racking to get a haircut at a new place for the first time, but I really like the cut I came away with and will definitely go back. Towne is in a great location in mid-town and not to far from where I live -- so super convenient! The staff was very friendly and I was greeted with a warm welcome and a beverage while I waited for my appointment to start. The space looks like a quaint, small home from the outside, but it's very airy and spacious on the inside. I enjoyed the clean, modern decor of the salon. I really loved getting my haircut by London - incredibly friendly, talkative and had a great instinct for the type of cut I wanted. I called and spoke with the owner to see if they did passion twists and how much it would be. She asked me the length I wanted, and I told her 22 inches long. She then quoted me a price of $180. I texted her back to find out what type of hair I would need she did not respond until 2 days before my appointment. I could not get the hair by then, so I got the type of hair from a different maker. I will get to the point. The first issue was that she complained that the hair was difficult to use, but she started doing my hair anyway until another braider arrived. She then let the new braider continue where she left off. She asked me about the length after two rolls of twisting it short and big. I told her I asked for them to be 22 inches long and she started making them longer. The new braider was very rough on my head, and I am not sensitive to getting my hair done. The new braider also complained about the hair. When she finally finished my hair, I had kinky twists and bald edges that I did not see until I pulled my hair up into a ponytail on my cruise for my birthday. Also, when I paid her the $180, she looked offended, but I explained that was the price I was quoted. She turned to the owner who told me that because I had gotten a longer length it would be $20 more. I was upset but I paid the money and left. Had I known that the braider had pop my edges off I would not have paid the extra money because she never informed me of what happened. I would not return and I wouldn't recommend this business to anyone because these people are obviously only out to make money and do not care about being unethical in their business practices. Oh and my braids started coming out within the week of me getting my hair done. I will post some pictures!
