The ride is about 30 minutes but went by quickly - we were given two blankets each one to sit on to stay warm and a second to cover us up. You can for easily 4 adults across in a row (maybe 6 rows?) - very charming and peaceful ride into the snowy woods! When we returned we had hot coffee and hot chocolates waiting for us! They assigned us to our horses and gave us instructions on how to direct our horses and hold the reigns. I'm a first time horse rider and was nervous, but once we started I got more comfortable and enjoyed it! The trail was a little muddy and goes up and down hills but it's amazing to see what these horses can do. The views were breathtaking and the weather was perfect. Chloe, our leader on the ride, was great. I appreciated that she made sure to have us stop for photos. I would definitely come back. Your butt might be sore afterwards :)

I recently got married at Hive Gallery, and words cannot express how wonderful the experience was…read more Cheryl and the rest of the crew went above and beyond to make sure the day was absolutely perfect. Everything that I envisioned for the day was carried out perfectly, from the photo booth that was set up for us to the room where kids could hang out and watch Netflix. We opted to have the ceremony outside on their large balcony, and it was truly a beautiful setup, with flowers entwined over an archway above us and the mountains surrounding us. Cheryl was even so kind as to record the whole ceremony for us, as my husband's family was unable to attend, so we will have a very special piece of the day to share with them when we go visit. The staff took care of all the decor based on inspiration photos that I had provided and assembled floral bouquets for all the tables, which were absolutely beautiful. The food, which was provided by Cornerstone Catering, was delicious... the best creme brûlée I've ever had! And when it came time for dancing, the tables were moved away, the disco lights came on, and their very talented DJ went to work, playing songs that kept the dance floor busy all night! I received so many complements from people who attended, telling me how beautiful the venue and the ceremony/reception were. I would not change anything about the day, as it was executed perfectly. I am writing this review to provide feedback…read moreto others considering the same, and to experience some sort of catharsis after an overall awful experience on what should have been a happy day. I have never felt so belittled, disregarded, and demeaned in a professional relationship. Before I provide insight into my negative experiences, I should recognize areas where the Hive excelled. The Hive is a beautiful facility with an interesting layout that lends itself well to smaller groups hosting events. The art work is top notch, and the décor of the wedding itself was put together beautifully. Staff members worked hard to choose, create, and set up flower arrangements and accommodate color selections. Staff members accommodated our guests with specific food restrictions, and ordered/picked up 2 meals from a local restaurant. This was going above and beyond as I expected needing to ask a family member to do this. The Hive hired an exceptional bartender to work the main bar. I had nothing but positive interactions with her and received good feedback from our guests. I will also say that our guests largely had a good time, enjoyed the venue, and had fun with the adult paint room. The Hive agreed to set up a photo booth with short notice (although this only required setting up a small digital camera on a tripod, securing a black sheet over a wall, and placing props I had already purchased on tables/hooks). The Hive was also good at adding small touches, such as placing blankets on the backs of chairs of outdoor guests for comfort. I realize my review is lengthy. In this case, the length is directly proportional to the level of difficulty we had in planning the wedding with the Hive. Due to character restrictions on Yelp, I cannot post my entire review here. Major changes were proposed to our program, and contracts with the caterer as many as 5 days, and as little as 1 day before the wedding. Arrangements were not carried out as requested and agreed upon. I urge you to visit the Trip Advisor review for an abundance of concrete examples of my experiences.

The Wild Game Burger gave me the whole province's worth of animal variety, all nestled safely under some outlandish toppings. The duck wings were a little dry, but quite fun, like my sense of humor. Since we got along so well, I introduced them to my wife, who liked them as well. The Iron Goat Pub & Grill is a popular restaurant known for its fine dining and upscale pub food. It is located in a three-level timber frame building. What I loved about this place was the view of the surrounding mountain ranges from its two elevated patios. The Iron Goat Pub & Grill is also available for hosting private parties and other events. We got to try plates of salmon, chicken, salad, bruschetta and ravioli while here. We had the second level all to ourselves. The food was delicious and the service was great.

We enjoyed our round immensely as it seemed like we were the only ones out on the course. At the turn, the snack shack was open even though there were only a few people on the course. I was most thankful for this as they offered some hot beverages! We got hot cocoa with Baileys which definitely helped to warm up my hands, tummy and spirits. We look forward to when we can play again under sunny skies. We also enjoyed dinner too in the clubhouse. Because they were setting up for a special event in the main dining room, Melody sat us in the Members Lounge which was very nice as it afforded views of the golf course and mountain. Melody was very welcoming and gracious. Maddy took very good care of us ... running back and forth asking our questions of the kitchen and getting us refills on our drinks. Both ladies were fantastic and made a wet, gray day brighter. We will definitely be back at some point in the future.

Pros: +Location has great access to Banff National Park +Lots of great nearby espresso, esp. Eclipse +Great waterslide for the kids +Unique architectural layout +Underground parking +Private outdoor penthouse hot tub is sweet! +Washer/dryer is handy +Unit was clean Cons - mainly it's just all stuff in disrepair: -AirCon has 2 modes: super loud (65 db per my Apple watch) or off. Perhaps replacing the filter would make it better? Is there a way to allow the guest to adjust the fan speed? Also it doesn't work great, takes 2 hrs to get from 78F to 72F. -Screen door has large hole in it. And other door has no screen at all. -Kitchen faucet is partially broken -Downstairs enclosed shower has many fancy functions but none of them work - which makes it just a basic shower (better than none for sure) -The hot tub area has hundreds of weeds in the rockery. -The only nearby elevator has been out of service for a day+ -The only condiments provided in the kitchen are salt and pepper, normally vacation condos have a lot more -When we arrived the cushions for the outdoor furniture were in the master closet If all of these were fixed I'd go 4 or maybe 5 stars. Stair concerns: If on the 4th floor there are lots of stairs inside the unit, toddlers and elders beware Stairs are all wood - while they look nice if someone falls it's gonna hurt a lot So in short lots of unrealized potential here.

Solid place to stay in Canmore…read more Having stayed here for 4 nights, I find this resort to have all the amenities we needed and it is conveniently located to everything, including Banff. All the common appliances are included and I especially like the indoor and outdoor spa next to lobby. I do think these suites need upgrade to the showers and the floors could be cleaner. Overall, this is a solid choice to stay at when visiting Banff. Recommend.

The staff (other than Martin the caterer who was amazing) was just terrible. They don't care, and offer very little help and seemingly hate to be there. There is no food at all on property (the Asian place nearby is pretty good). Solara is not really near anything you can walk to so if you do not have a car -forget anything to do. Each time I spoke to the staff the answer was some form of "we are a resort and don't do that." The meeting rooms are sad and tired. Lights are burned out all around the place. Sidewalks are not cleared of snow and ice so there is always a danger when walking.

A truly 5 star experience…read more Location perfection achieved :Peaks hotel is literally steps away from the core of downtown shopping and dining. The ski shuttle also stops right outside. We loved the detail paid to a comfortable stay : Gear storage, laundry, ev chargers that work, a wash stall for cars, heated garage. Plus in your room a nespresso machine and fancy local tea. We never ventured across the street to check it out but there is a pool, sauna, and hot tub plus ski rental and tune shop at the sister property. The rooms are brand new and beautiful. We loved the spa like shower and even the huge bath sheets. Would definitely stay again and recommend to friends!
