A week ago I brought my Macbook Pro 13in to Cornice to get the battery replaced since it was not holding a charge. The tech was checking the battery usage and saw that the battery was draining after a couple of minutes. He then checked the battery data and saw that the data showed it was new. Could hold a full 100% charge. He saw that the Apple Intelligence and Adobe Creative Cloud were sucking up energy. He suggested I update the OS and showed me how to turn off the 2 programs above. I did that and now the computer holds a charge and I can run off battery for 6-8 hours where before I needed to plug in after an hour. THANK YOU! read more

I have had a problem with my older MacBook using the Wi-Fi. It would not go on the internet. Frustrated I finally called Apple Care, after a lengthy call trying to make my MacBook to work they suggested Cornice. The representative made a reservation and I went the next day. Cornice is located in an industrial park area. There was plenty of parking with shade. Going in I was nervous my MacBook was too old to keep working. They have a great display of vintage Apples!! The gentleman greeted and checked us in. Then I told him what was happening with my MacBook. I turned it on and he proceeded to click his way through the problem. He figured it out quickly and clicked the whole problem away!! He rebooted my MacBook and checked to make sure it was operating properly. Then he shut it off, restarted it and had me make sure it would go on WI-FI and the internet by myself. It was a great relief to have my MacBook working again, there's paperwork for me to tackle! The gentleman reassured me I have plenty of memory and can add the newest update. The gentleman was so friendly and helpful- I am sorry I didn't get his name!! He was so generous not to charge me!! Cornice saved me!! My 2019 MacBook Pro battery was fried; and I could not bear to part with my computer because I'm in grad school. The Apple Store suggested I send it out for 3 to 5 days. And as it turns out there was a recall on my laptop's keyboard (which Cornice discovered, thus requiring a new top case, which includes the battery!! Cornice did the entire repair in house in one day. I was even granted a warranty exception that made the entire repair free of charge. Needed to get some service done on my MacBook Air and was directed here as all Apple stores are currently closed. We called (the number listed here) to see what we needed to do and were told just bring it up and it would be 7-14 days unless we wanted to pay a "rush" fee to get to the front of the line. Great. Drove 45mins up to the store and they have a sign in the window stating to call before entering. So I call and they now tell me they do not accept walk ins and they are not currently doing the "rush fee" because of how busy they are. Then they try and tell me it was Apple who told me about their timelines and policies. Yeah I didn't wait in the black hole of hold with Apple at all. That and well unless they have their lines forwarded to Apple or an Apple rep works in their store that is a straight up lie. I usually take my MacBook to Apple for repairs, but I decided to try this place out because it was closer. What a mistake. I've had my MacBook for a number of years and recently the keycaps have gotten loose from use. Each time I've taken it to Apple, it takes 5-10 minutes for them to replace the keycaps. Cornice told me that I'd have to leave my computer with them for at least most of the day, if not overnight. I asked them why it would take that long, and they said that they had other computers to look at first. I was confused because this repair should only take a few minutes, and they said that they would need to run tests on my computer. I told them that my computer didn't need tests because my keycaps just needed to be replaced. They said that it was their policy to test all computers, and that all service providers should do so. This is bizarre because I'm pretty sure that Apple doesn't do this. Why would you need to run tests if it's clearly a solely external issue? Even if Apple does this, it only takes about 5 minutes, as the whole service is done within 10 minutes, if not sooner. The blonde woman I interacted with at the counter didn't seem to care. She didn't even attempt to apologize for the inconvenience. With COVID and remote work, you'd think that someone who works with computers would understand how limiting it can be for many people to be without their computer even for a day. I'm studying for the California Bar Exam and can't take a day off from my study program, which requires my laptop. I wouldn't recommend this place. The mandatory testing policy is ridiculous. The employees are also much friendlier at Apple. In addition, they made me wait 15 minutes after my appointment time to come in. I don't see how they could run so behind (an hour after they opened) if they don't do any small repairs immediately. It would've taken much less time for me to just go to Apple in the first place. Maybe Cornice is great for people with more complex issues, but I won't be back. read more

This place has been around a while and is LEGIT. The woman helping me (who I assume is one of the owners) was very kind and patient when trying to diagnose my laptop. She answered all of my questions and it felt so nice being in a small store where I didn't have to wait or feel rushed. I woke up to my 2011 macbook pro swollen and hot. The track pad was about to burst and I seriously thought my computer was a ticking time bomb. I tried making an appointment at the uptight genius bar in Victoria gardens but they wouldn't see me until 4 days later so one of their other choices was this place. The place is ran by older people but they were very knowledgeable and pleasant. I just wish that they would call when my computer is ready so I wouldn't have to go calling them a day after they'd said the laptop would be ready. For running diagnostics, replacing a new battery and the legwork the total was around $210. Pricey but it beats having a 3k+ laptop explode in my living room. read more

I was profoundly disappointed when I went to this place that advertises itself as an "Authorized Apple Service Provider". I brought my Apple iPhone 5S to them to have the battery replaced. The nice young lady behind the counter told me, "we're not set up for that." How can an authorize Apple service provider not be set up to replace a battery in an Apple iPhone? It only takes one tool to open the case, and two minutes to drop in a new battery. What am I missing here? I didn't see this coming. I had such high hopes when I entered the place. Looking around, I saw prestigious technical certifications mounted on the walls. Truly, these people have the expertise to service Apple products. They had numerous repaired Apples and Macs on the shelf waiting to be picked up by their owners. I was crestfallen. This grade reflects the despair I felt as I stood there in stark disbelief. Let me first start off by saying that your computer breaking down amidst a pandemic is really an inconvenient affair. My 13 inch Mac book pro's screen went black as I was paying bills... Apple stores around were closed during the lockdown. I reached out to Apple via text support. They wanted me to go to Brea (not exactly down the street for me) and charge me $200 for diagnostics... they gave me an alternative, which was Cornice, 10 minutes away from. I spoke with Tim and several other associates there. From the beginning, they were courteous, understanding, and most important, transparent with everything. They told me from the very beginning that they were already experiencing a several week wait period if I wished to do business with them. They told me Apple, for lack of a better phrase, was incorrect in their diagnostic pricing. Also, it turns out, all of the issues my laptop succumbed to were all under a special Apple Care program devoid of the warranty I had purchased some years ago, which had expired. I went from a $200 diagnostic to free diagnostic, free replacement parts and labor under this program. I was sent emails throughout the process just checking in with me where they were in the process. If it wasn't for them, I'd still be stuck with a dead computer and learning how to pay bills via mobile. PS: they take social distancing very serious. They sanitize the lobby after every customer, so don't expect to walk in without first calling. THATS how you handle crowd control in a pandemic. I finally went to Cornice and they were able to solve the problem before Apple was even able to get me a new appointment at their Rancho store . If you're Mac is under warranty or covered by AppleCare, Cornice is an Authorized Apple Service Provider so it's just like taking it to the Apple Store (minus the crowds and wait.) My SuperDrive was faulty but covered under warranty so Cornice had the part ordered and installed in a few days. Since my MacBook Pro was going to be opened anyway, they even installed my new RAM free of charge. Thanks again for that! Now Apple only covers hardware repairs at non-Apple sites so they couldn't help me out with that for free but their prices seemed fair and the staff is definitely honest and fair. So save yourself a trip to Victoria Gardens or Brea and stop by Cornice on Benson first. read more

Not sure how this facility is Apple certified or in business. By far one of the worst customer service experiences I have had. I was referred by Apple to Cornice and that's were all my problems got worse. The backlight on my 2016 MacBook Pro was broken and Apple informed me it would be covered due to a recall they issued. After I dropped off my MacBook, it took the technician at Cornice 3 DAYS to get back to me. They claimed my whole display needed to be replaced and I have to pay 600 dollars. After I explained that I was able to see my display using a flashlight (indicating it was just a backlight issue), the technician at Cornice said my MacBook didn't qualify for the 2016 recall (even though my MacBook IS 2016). He also said because they took the laptop apart, they can't confirm if it was just a backlight issue when I dropped it off. In other words, if they made my MacBook worse, they cannot confirm that. The technician then told me to call Apple myself and see if they would be okay with covering the whole display. When I called Apple, they not only told me they would cover the replacement of my whole display but that I also shouldn't have had to call Apple myself and that Cornice should have called on my behalf. Today, I went to pick up my laptop so I can send it an Apple facility for repair. When the technician at Cornice handed me my MacBook, it had two big scratches on the front, which weren't there before. When I pointed them out to the technician, he admitted that I dropped off my MacBook without any scratches but Apple is going to replace the whole display so it won't matter. No apology, no nothing. I am genuinely confused at how this place operates. I for sure won't be coming back and I'll be telling all my friends and family to not visit this Apple "certified" facility. read more

I was referred here by Apple over the phone. Cornice stated that it would be $100 for the initial assessment and that there would only be extra fees if they found corrosion and that they would notify me before proceeding. They called me stating that everything was repaired and asked if I wanted to proceed with repairing the display of my Mac (an extra $400) which I declined. However, when I went to pick up my laptop I was charged an extra $125. I was confused because I was not informed of this on the phone and they stated that there was corrosion. They did not inform me prior to proceeding. Poor communication makes me more frustrated than anything. If you need to repair something and charge me for it, please be upfront. read more

I brought my MacBook Air here as apple stores are closed due to pandemic. I had issues with websites loading in text only, slowness, no pics, etc. I called when I got there and barely got through the door before Karen was coming at me telling me I should only bring the computer in. I had my purse that I didn't want to leave in the car. Karen is rude, condescending, and when I finally was allowed to pick up my unfixed computer over a week later, I was given a very nasty look by her. Horrible customer service, and a total waste of time. They did the same thing to my computer I had told them I had done twice before. My computer is still having the same issue. Cornice did a great job fixing my Mac's OS System. I tried Cornice because I've had a negative experience with the Apple store in Victoria Gardens in the past. I was able to get a same day appointment, even around the holidays. It took two weeks to fix my Mac, but the pricing was very fair, and the customer service was good. They saved my data like they said they would and explained the processes thoroughly as they systematically tested my laptop.
