My husband purchased a large wall clock at this store as a Christmas gift for me a few years ago. After a few weeks, it stopped working. We changed the battery with no effect. My husband returned to the store with this huge clock, and the owner told him that the battery was not making contact, and pulled out the metal contact a bit more. It worked for about a week. In our home, it was displayed mounted way up on a wall, and required 2 people and a ladder to get it down, so we left it up there, broken, for 2 years! Recently, we decided to get it fixed, but didn't want to return to the place where it never got fixed. We took it to an elderly, very experienced clockmaker, who said the whole problem was that the clock was not assembled at the store correctly, and that the motor had burned out! This was a very expensive Ridgeway clock that we had to pay to have a new motor put in! If I had an option of posting no stars, I would have! read more
