My family and I switched to Coronado Family Dentistry after several years at another local dentistry that just doesn't seem to care about their business anymore. Our entire experience has been exceptional! Dr Dao is very professional, knowledgeable, and his people skills are fantastic. He takes the time to educate you, and his procedures are done with great detail and never rushed. He takes care to know each patient, sending follow up messages to ensure your doing ok, and has great memory and care for your family members. We had work done with Dr Dao and it was done better than any other dentist I have personally used. The staff are not only extremely nice and caring, but very experienced. I can only assume Dr Dao treats his staff well to attain such great talent, unlike most offices that cut corners and pay below industry rates for less qualified or new employees. We also had the privilege of working with Dr. Sherry Oung, Dr Dao's wife. She helped with 2 deep cavities for our 8 year old daughter. They even schedule and brought in their dog Buttercup to calm our daughter down. Buttercup is such a lovely dog and it really helped!! Dr. Oung was so gentle and effective. My daughter never complained of pain or discomfort during or after the procedure. I could go on and about this dentistry. I like that they take real-time photos to show you, beyond x-rays, what looks good and what may need work. The cleaning itself was well-done: I usually like to get a numbing gel on my gums to help with pain or sensitivity, but didn't need it and felt comfortable for the duration. I had a small cavity and was able to get it filled on-the-spot in 10 minutes - my entire time at the office was still less than 1 hour. I was worried about how long it'd take (I needed to get home for a meeting) and Dr. Afshar had me check Google maps for my ETA/traffic before she started the procedure, to ensure I'd be on time. Then back at the front desk to check-out only to find out that my new insurance is out of network. So I had to pay $150 out of pocket for a cleaning. I don't understand why the front desk people didn't confirm with me beforehand that my insurance was out of network. This just confirms that even with Espire Dental taking over the Isabella practice that the billing and front desk people are still jacked up as always. I'll be looking for a new dentist now.
