The location is an old residence, I think, that has been converted. As such, it has its quirks and feels like a home rather than a dentist office. However, despite this, they get high marks for their work. The technicians are professional and I always leave feeling squeaky clean. There is a small parking lot in the back of the building and I've relied upon that every time I've gone since street parking is hard to find, and also costs. read more

This place is a gem. I've had my teeth examined and cleaned for decades. So many newer dental offices act like plastic surgeons, insisting on services my insurance will not cover but are somehow necessary. This is upselling and it's an incredible annoying cheap ploy for a dentist to compensate what insurance does not cover. The office of Dean Nguyen isn't like that - they're old school. They make sure my teeth are healthy, thoroughly examined, and properly cleaned. No added b.s. that I never asked for. All the staff here are great to work with. Diana was my hygienist recently, and she clearly enjoys her job and working with patients. As so many others here have stated, I highly recommend and endorse this dental office. read more

Recommended to me by an old coworker and I have been here a few times now and have loved it. This has easily been the best dentist office I've been to since moving to CA 6 years ago. They have been very helpful, informative, and efficient at each appt I've had with them. Every employee I honestly am planning on continuing to come back here for all my dental needs. He recommended some great products to keep my teeth from accumulating tartar until my next dental cleaning. I chose this clinic based on its positive Yelp reviews and initially scheduled an appointment at Dr. Dean Van Nguyen, DDS. However, the front desk assigned me to Dr. Scalercio. During my visit, she treated two cavities, but the procedure felt rushed and somewhat careless. I left the clinic with a sense that the work may not have been done properly, and I experienced persistent sensitivity in both teeth for several days afterward. When I contacted the office, I was advised that the discomfort would subside, but the sensitivity continued for over 10 days. I subsequently visited Dr. Dean Van Nguyen for a follow-up. Upon evaluation, he had to redo the work on both teeth, which took approximately 1.5 hours. After the corrective procedure, the issue was resolved and the teeth felt much better. I'm writing to share a frustrating experience as a new patient. I booked an appointment on June 1st, a month in advance, and provided all insurance info at that time. The day before my appointment, a receptionist called asking for my Social Security number, revealing verification still hadn't been done. My appointment was then reassigned to a different doctor, and after two more phone calls I was finally told my insurance isn't accepted. Waiting a full month only to be told the verification was never completed is unacceptable, and I hope your office improves this process for future patients. read more

Chiefly the financial costs (even with insurance) and the overall attitudes of the dentists I've seen as a child into young adulthood. I finally bit the bullet and decided to come here after reading through numerous reviews. Every person I interacted with at the office was professional and caring. Susan greeted me at the front office and treated me as though I had been there for years. Dr. Scalercio cared for me without judgment and was patient with me and all my questions. Had a filling done. Dentist was nice, quick and efficient. Office staff was very nice.

First there were the x-rays. I mentioned my sensitivity to the objects placed in my mouth and extra care was taken. Next was the cleaning which was super thorough covering every possible area of my mouth. As water accumulated a tool sucked the excess water out. I was offered shaded glasses for the light glare but that was not needed. Dr. Dean Van Nguyen found from the x-rays that I have one cavity that will be filled on the next visit this month. He was also kind to give me good advice on an outside matter. The parking lot for his office is limited but I was able to get a spot. The receptionists who checked me in and out were very pleasant. I mentioned that I have another dentist in NJ during the summer and the office will forward the x-rays to that office. read more

Been coming here for 2 to 3 years, always have had great service. It's easy to make appointments. Karen has been my hygienist and is always great. She's down to earth. Listens to any issues and gives good feedback on cleanings. As someone who pays out of pocket, I appreciate they don't insist on doing x-rays as often as other places I've been (as long as you're coming regularly and there are no issues.) They've never kept me waiting for an appt! Routine cleaning appointments are often done in about 30 mins. They don't waste your time yet still leave you feeling taken care of. Excellent reception! I came for a second opinion. Dr. Scalercio spent a long time going over what the previous provider had done, what she would do going forward. She was very patient and empathetic. I felt that she really cared for my well being. I never felt that she was trying to add unnecessary services. As a matter of fact, she was judicious in the recommendations. At the front desk, Christina was a great help in guiding me through the insurance maze. I stayed away from seeing a dentist for a long time due to a bad experience in the past.
