You feel as if you are cared about and not just a number or dollar amount as each of your concerns are addressed in the utmost professional manner. It is a family-oriented practice with Dr. Pedrotty , his wife, and Jessica all who helped manage any and all situations. His military background gives him the medical discipline that is comforting and assuring and quite honestly refreshing in this day and age. Dr. Pedrotty is very thorough in what he does and with his experience as a retired Navy Medical Officer his medical experience is hard to match. His practice as a family practitioner, cosmetic dermatologist, wellness and alternative medicine as well as Sports Medicine gives him much more experienced than you could find in any other doctor. He also has orthopedic surgical experience. If you have a problem medically he can help you solve it. My mother who is 85 years old goes to him and raves about his caring and concern for her. He has also recommended the top specialist for my mother when needed. In my opinion you cannot find a better doctor or office to deal with your medical issues. The Specialist that he recommends considered Dr. Pedrotty in the top 1% of any doctor they have ever dealt with and comment on his thoroughness. Dr Pedrotty is highly respected & recommended by the highest tier of specialist in the medical field.

Referred to Dr. Jaibaji for a Mohs closure on my nose. Had 4 appointments total (consult, closure,…read moresuture removal, follow-up). Consult went fine, I guess. (There was no appt reminder.) It was about a 5-minute appt so he could see the area he needed to close. Closure was scheduled for the day after my Mohs surgery. He told me to call the office if I was done early, and he'd try to squeeze in the closure on the same day. My Mohs was done quickly, so I called at 9:40AM to see if he could squeeze me in. The receptionist was irritated and confused. There was some yelling back and forth in the background and I was told to come in the following day for the scheduled appointment as Jaibaji was not available on this afternoon. The receptionist seemed pretty irritated. I apologized and reiterated that Jaibaji told me during the consult to call in to check. (Reminder: I have a fresh open wound and I'm getting attitude over the phone from people who told me to call them.) I then asked her if she could confirm my appt time (as there was no appt reminder sent - a recurring theme). She was irritated again and asked me my name, then took two minutes to find my appt time. Closure day: I walked into the reception area, sat down. "Your co-pay is $35." I look around. No one else is in the reception area. All I see is a forehead and hair behind the back of a flat screen monitor. That was my greeting on the day of my closure. I paid. The closure went fine. It's my first, so I don't have anything to compare it to. He was a little sloppy with the anesthetic, some of which ran down into the corner of my eye. (I got to drive home with 8 stitches in my face and a numb, watery eyeball.) The only care guidance provided was that it was okay to do anything I wanted (i.e. take a shower that night). This was not good guidance. The conversation during the closure was interesting. Dr. Jaibaji entered into an existential AI rant and told me the reason I lost my job in IT was due to AI. It was not, but he didn't want to hear that. He only wanted to hear that AI will take everyone's job. Not exactly an enjoyable conversation for when someone's cutting your face open. When I returned for suture removal, I received the exact same greeting as before (none, just a stated copay amount due). The suture removal was quick. A slightly gentler hand and the ability to wash my face afterwards would have been appreciated, but it was a relief to get the stitches out. My follow-up appointment coincided with Federal jury duty. Had a reminder been sent, I would have called to reschedule ahead of time. They were understanding and told me to reschedule when my jury service concluded. I have not bothered as I'm sure any follow-up to this level of care would be pointless. The office has not followed-up. My nose is healing fine...I'm taking care of it. I'm leveraging online guidance and advice from people who've had Mohs surgery before. Strange bedside manner, unprofessional support staff, and inaccurate recovery guidance. Very weird experience. Can't recommend, unfortunately.

She is always friendly, manages to make me feel comfortable even without my clothes on, and is great about letting me know when I should and should not worry and when I should get something double checked just to be safe. Last time I went in, I also casually asked her about some hormonal acne I'd been having. She prescribed me an oral antibiotic, and even gave me some samples and a coupon to make it more affordable. She also gave me a topical cream that she has specifically compounded for her, which, at $40 for a bottle that has lasted me 5 weeks already and isn't running out yet, is much more affordable than the name brand options out there. After the first couple of weeks using both, my skin is actually CLEAR. As somebody who has always had at least some level of acne, going weeks without any blemishes is a BIG DEAL. Her office staff is also great--efficient, friendly, and knowledgeable. They don't push anything on you that you don't need, but are there to offer anything you ask for. I highly recommend Dr. Stuart for all of your dermatology needs!

I immediately pointed out my concerns during that appointment only to be brushed off and then again at every follow up appointment thereafter. I then went to see a ENT who does not perform plastics one year post op who confirmed I did indeed suffer a double nasal valve collapse. I am now searching for a surgeon who can fix my nose, and afraid to move forward & trust any other Dr since this Dr seemed to have all the certifications one could possibly ask for. The worst part was that instead of admitting thing were not as he hoped and offering to fix my nose, he kept saying it looked perfect. Right before my surgery I'd noticed on yelp (another yelp section for the same practice) another women had suffered as well but I had already paid my deposit & told myself it wouldn't happen to me too. Huge mistake. I hope to save someone else the pain and the nervous break down that I experienced as a result of this Dr telling me everything was fine when I clearly could see it wasn't for a whole year after my surgery- definitely this Dr isn't to be trusted and won't attempt to make things right if something does go horribly wrong. I'm so sorry I put my trust in him and this practice.

I told her not only did I need to update my prescription but that my eyesight has been getting bad so I wanted a full exam of my eyes. She made my appointment for 3 weeks out. I show up for my appointment and she has me fill out all the forms and takes my co pay then tells me that Dr Cook will not write a prescription for contacts. I said I have waited 3 weeks for this appointment and need my prescription refilled. She said Dr Cook is a surgeon and will not write a prescription that I need to see the optometrist for that . I said you mean to tell me a specialist of the eye will not write a prescription and why did you not tell me that to begin with. Very rude and very disappointing. I'll post again about getting my copay back.

I have been a patient at Alvarado Eye Associates for years. In the past I visited various doctors…read morewho practiced there and have never had any complaints but now Dr. Cook seems to be the only physician. I returned from a month in London with a terrible case of red, burning, tearing, itchy, swollen and granulated eyes and was able to be squeezed in the next day to see Dr. Cook which I greatly appreciated. After explaining my symptoms and his exam, he indicated that I had a bad and very infectious case of viral pink eye for which there was nothing he could medically do but that it would definitely worsen before it would improve. He warned me to stay away from others, to wash my hands constantly, to apply lubricating tears, and to return in a week since there was a chance that I would develop infiltrates which would need steroids. At the same time I also had a terribly sore throat, congestion, fatigue, and a cough. After several more days with nothing improving, I made an appt to see my regular general practice doctor since I was shortly leaving town again for a month. He assessed my situation and prescribed both a short-term antibiotic for my body symptoms as well as some antibiotic eye drops in the event that my infection was bacterial rather than viral. I began those measures and then two days later returned to see Dr. Cook for the week follow-up. My eyes had some minimal improvement and my body symptoms as well. During his exam Dr. Cook first indicated my eyes were clear but then he checked again and changed his assessment, indicating that one eye had 3 infiltrates and the other 1. He said I needed to begin steroids to try and prevent further damage. At this point I explained to him that I had seen my GP who had prescribed both the antibiotics and Dr. Cook became instantly enraged, yelling at me that I "had made a terrible decision" in seeking another doctor's advice and that I had just better"take my eyes back to THAT doctor." I was gobsmacked by the level of outrage he directed at me, especially in not understanding that he was only treating my eye condition and that the reason I sought another doctor's help was for the other issues I was experiencing. Mistakes can be made while determining the origins as either viral or bacterial. Anyway, I was deeply shocked by his unprofessional attack on me and I left shaking and upset. When I returned home and relayed the story to my husband, he was furious at the way I was treated and indicated he felt we should both leave Dr. Cook. Two days after this experience we again left San Diego to spend a few days on the central coast before continuing on to northern CA for a week-long visit. Since Dr. Cook indicated the existence of infiltrates and that they could worsen, I decided to seek further medical direction from an eye specialist in San Luis Obispo. During this thorough new exam, the doctor indicated that I definitely had NO infiltrates in either eye and that in fact he suspected my eye condition was neither viral or bacterial-related but rather an extreme allergic reaction that worsened with the very dry airplane environment. He assured me I was in no way infectious, never had been with this episode, and then prescribed steroid eye drops which have already brought about more relief in one day than I have known in the last 2 weeks. Neither my husband nor I will ever return to Dr. Cook and instead we will take our future eye care out to the Shiley Eye Institute in La Jolla. His outrageously rude belittling of me is not an attribute I choose in the physicians with whom I entrust my medical care. And, in reading through the previous Yelp reviews of him, my own experience was sadly not the first. AVOID. Choose better.
