    Cream color I received
    Chris C.

Been coming here for years and generally does great work, although not quickly. Really disappointed when I brought a pair of suede slippers to be cleaned and when I picked them up, they were an entirely different color. Not to mention they were there for months and when I previously tried to pick them up I was told they weren't ready because we couldn't find them in the shop. The worst part is when I said I was not satisfied, I was told to shut up and accused that that's what customers say when they don't want to pay! When I showed a pic of what they looked like when I ordered them I was told the factory photo isn't what it looks like and I was misremembering the color when I brought them. I'm sorry but there's a big difference between the color of cinnamon (what I brought in) and cream (what I received). Sounds like she didn't want to replace an item damaged while in her care. Overall, be selective in the services here and know customer service is not a priority.

Ruined Boot with Glue and Crappy stitch instead of properly sewing two panels that came unstitched.

If I could give a lower review, I would. My experience started out very good and very friendly. I needed a sole of a children's Doc Marten fixed because the adhesive was coming loose. I also had my wife's UGG tall sheepskin boot that the stitching of one of the panels had come apart, and all it needed was to be restitched. Other than that, the boot had zero problems. The lady was sweet and said they could fix both no problem. I believe it was $9 for the Docs and $13 for the UGG. At any rate I didn't have an issue with the price. I paid upfront and tipped. The lady guaranteed it would be done Tuesday (it was Friday), but she's push to get it by Monday and would call if they got it done. No call came, so I went on Tuesday to pick up the boots. Because the lady was so nice, I completely trusted the work would be done well. So much so that I never even took a look. Partly because I had my daughter with at the time. At any rate I was happy until I got the boots home and presented the UGG to my wife as a surprise. Well.... take a look at the photos of the UGG. Remember, all it needed was to be restitched. Instead of using a proper stitch, they used glue; making it rough and uncomfortable on the inside and spilling it on the outside ruining it completely! Besides the glue, they also used a big X hand stitch in a way that my 7 year old could probably have done better. Besides the UGG issue, the DOC sole was fixed ok, and looks good on the outside, but my daughter says it's extremely uncomfortable with a "bump " on the side of her foot. My issue lies 100% on the integrity. If you can't fix something properly, say something. Don't just say you can and then wing it. The boots are just a material thing, but the UGGs had sentimental value as they were a gift. Besides, they were in perfect condition minus a single stitch that let loose. Who would have thought the boot would be ruined with glue. If it wasn't for the glue I could have at least restitched it myself better than this. My stomach is sick when I think about it. I'm very disappointed. I'm shocked. I guess now I'll go buy a new pair of $200 boots.

I was here some weeks ago to have 4 pairs of pants hemmed: 2 slacks, 1 denim, and 1 sweatpants. My boyfriend and I arrived later in the day, and the lady who helped us was nice and cordial, though conversation with her made us feel a bit uneasy. She asked us the following: "Where do you live?" "Do you not have someone in your neighborhood to do alterations?" Ouch. Why yes, there is a shop in our artsy, historic, trendy neighborhood, but they were closed. Either way, we still chose Luxury Cleaners and mentioned we picked this place based on Yelp reviews. You would think telling her that would have meant something. She then offered to have me try on all my pants to measure the correct hem (as expected), but then she changed her mind after I said yes. I even wore my Doc Marten boots, which were the default shoes for all of the pants except the sweats. I could also easily change pants without taking my boots off. But as if she came up with a better idea, she asked if I knew my inseam. I said no. All of my pants fit me different. Still, she took just one pair of my slacks and held it against the slacks I was wearing and eyeball-measured the length. From there, that was the measurement for all four pairs I brought in. Either she knew what she was doing and was *that good* or she cut major corners because she didn't want to take the time for true accuracy. No tailor or seamstress has ever done this to me before. They always had me try each pair of pants! And one major detail: I told her to please remove the elastic cuffs from the sweatpants. She muttered my request back to me as if to confirm, though she didn't seem all that present with me. I noticed that she took no notes whatsoever. She must be that good. My boyfriend and I came back the following week after Christmas for pick-up. The elastic cuffs were reinstalled on the sweatpants. I reminded her that I had wanted the cuffs removed. Her response, "Why didn't you tell me?" Unbelievable. How dare you gaslight your customer! She offered to remove them, but I wasn't willing to come back and risk another mistake that would make things worse. She already messed up and I couldn't see how she could possibly make this better. As if I wasn't livid enough already, when I tried the rest of my pants when I got home, they were a bit shorter than I would have liked. Had she taken the time to have me try on each pair, we would have gone over how many breaks (creases) I preferred at the bottom to find and pin the right measurement. Instead of looking good on boots, now my pants look better on the likes of flip-flops and flat shoes. Any shorter would have been high-water territory. I'm so disappointed and reliving this with my review is upsetting me all over again. The "Luxury" in Luxury Cleaners is very misleading. This lady makes this place seem to favor and cater to Coronado residents only or military. Maybe I should have brought my 30-year Navy Veteran, Retired Master Chief father to secure proper respect and top-notch service. He was stationed in Coronado in the '80s.

He goes above and beyond the service you ask for, I took one pair of doc martens that i bought secondhand in for a fix on the buckle, but they also came back beautifully polished and in better looking condition than when I bought them! I cannot recommend him enough to my friends in the area, so I felt compelled to come online and recommend him to y'all as well :) It means so much to still have a family-owned shoe repair shop in a city where small businesses are disappearing. The moment you walk in, you're talking directly with the person who's going to work on your shoes, and you can truly feel the care, the craft, and the pride Jason puts into his work. If you value quality, kindness, and supporting the kind of business that keeps a city human, definitely come here. There's something beautiful and sustainable about repairing what we already have, and I'm grateful this family-owned shop is still here doing it with so much heart. My shoes always turn out beautifully at a much better price than buying a new pair (and saving landfills!). I hope more people choose places like this so they can stay around for years to come. Thank you, Jason!

When I dropped off my Chelsea Doc Marten boots, he mentioned there would likely be glue residue because of the type of boot, which I understood and was okay with. I figured some messiness comes with repair work. A few days later I picked them up and was honestly surprised at the cost for a fairly simple glue repair. For the price, I expected at least a little care in presentation -- not a full polish, but maybe a quick clean or some attention to detail. Instead, the boots looked almost exactly the same as when I dropped them off, and there really wasn't any visible repair work besides being told they were fixed. About a month later, I wore them for the first time since repaired and by the time I got from my house to my office, the entire sole had already come off again. After paying around $50 and not loving the overall experience, I didn't feel confident going back for another repair. I ended up buying shoe glue on Amazon, fixing them myself, and haven't had a single issue since. This was my first experience getting shoes repaired, so maybe my expectations were off, but for the cost and overall experience, it just wasn't worth it for me.

I contacted another cobbler first, told to send photos, waited for callbacks, called them again and got vague answers about how delicate the leather was and how cleaning it could spread the stain... they said they'll think of ways on what to do and call me back and then never heard back again. Thankfully, I found Chito's Shoe Repair online and reached out by text with photos of my bag. Within 5 minutes, they responded and asked me to call. Jenny spoke with me personally and was incredibly patient, kind, and reassuring. She didn't make unrealistic promises, but she took the time to explain that she wouldn't fully know the outcome until she saw the bag in person. I was extremely stressed, and her honesty mixed with compassion immediately made me feel better. What truly amazed me was that even though the only time I could get there was after their hours, Jenny still accommodated me and allowed me to bring the bag in. That level of kindness and care is rare. When I arrived, she carefully inspected the bag and walked me through exactly what her cleaning process would be. She explained everything in detail and set realistic expectations while still making me feel hopeful. At that point, I honestly thought I may have ruined my bag permanently.. especially because in my panic, I had already tried a few things myself that probably made the stain worse. Two days later, I picked up my bag and it looked like NOTHING had ever happened. I genuinely could not believe it. The stain was gone, and my bag looked beautiful again. What stood out even more was how much Jenny genuinely cared about educating me. She taught me about leather care, explained how leathers react , and even gave me advice on a wallet project I was trying to fix myself. She wasn't trying to upsell me or push me to bring everything in for repair -- she actually wanted me to understand how to care for my own items. That says so much about her character and integrity. I also met her husband Chris, and together they are just wonderful people. Warm, knowledgeable, honest, and clearly passionate about what they do. I'm beyond grateful I found someone I can truly trust with my luxury pieces. Thank you again, Jenny and Chris, for saving my bag and for treating me with so much kindness throughout the entire process!
