I cannot tell you how thrilled I am to write this review. Besides a couple of pimples here and there, I've had clear skin my whole life. And then suddenly, in the fall of 2023 my skin exploded with acne (across my cheeks, forehead, jawline, and chin). I tried a couple of different estheticians but nothing helped. Until I met Cynthya at Corrective Skincare. We had our first consult in late November 2024 and she started me on their brand of face wash, glycolic pads, and benzoyl peroxide. I saw her every month and checked up with her on IG every week/other week to tweak and adjust my routine based on how my skin was handling the new products. It's now end of March 2025, just 4 months later, and my skin is glowing. My breakouts are essentially gone (save for a stress pimple here and there) and my pigmentation is continuing to fade. I am thrilled with the results and honestly didn't think this would be possible this quickly. Especially after a year or trying other products and routines. Cynthya is truly the best! Cynthya at Corrective Skincare is truly a skin magician. As a teenager, while I don't struggle with acne all over my face, I tend to have very challenging inflammatory breakouts in specific spots. I've been waiting to write this review to give my new routine time and all I can say is WOW. I went into Corrective Skincare after struggling with my hormonal acne post egg freezing. My skin was all over the place and I was having such a hard time finding products that worked. I was always buying the Sephora/Blue Mercury best sellers and they were always irritating me. My skin was clear one week, a mess the next and irritated always. I'm a picker too so I always make it worse when I do have blemishes. I went in for a consultation and treatment with Jennifer. I was ready for a new routine (Jennifer was seriously the sweetest and did NOT even suggest I buy new products unless I really wanted to) and got their cleanser, moisturizer, benzoyl peroxide and skin corrector pads. I wasn't seeing a ton of progress so I emailed and after my appointment and we slightly changed my routine up (same products, different schedule). My skin has totally transformed since then. This was a terrific experience. I am a man who has had acne and oily skin for most of my life. I am subject to comedones (blackheads)- many of them- and it has been challenging to find a person who is competent and thorough at removing them. So happy I finally got to visit Corrective Skincare again!! I went to Jen (the founder) years ago at their previous location, but was highly recommended by friends I trust to return for a much-needed facial at their new location. Cynthya was FABULOUS. The intake forms were sent right away at time of booking and were super easy to fill out. Parking is easy in the neighborhoods around their location and it's a very efficient check-in process once you arrive. She took the time to go over what I was envisioning for my skin, and I told her I would defer to her judgement on what exact serum I should use. I opted for the Diamond glow facial since I have an event coming up - I much prefer facials and body work that get the job done efficiently and quickly, and don't need anything "fluffy". While they do have a more "pampered" option, this is the magic stuff and team to utilize if you are looking for something that really goes "under the surface" and makes an immediate, visible difference by professionals who love what they do, and know exactly how to do it! Monyque has changed my life ! I had been dealing with extreme rosacea (dryness, peeling, irritation, red face) and low confidence for about 4 years then, I had been through 2 rounds of Accutane with no luck. When I met Monyque she created a specialized facial routine for me, she would check in on a month to month basis to see if I needed adjustments and requested monthly photos, we did this for about 6 months, within a month I could already see a difference! I have been going here since the end of 2019 up until present. This is the best esthetician clinic that I have ever been to. I have seen a few different estheticians over the years at this clinic and they are all very good. They are all trained by Jen. I have super sensitive skin and get glycolic treatments here. They listen to your concerns and are knowledgeable and experienced. My skin is allergic to many ingredients and they are cautious to avoid them. They are very skilled, kind, and results-driven which I love. I now live in Orange County so it is hard for me to go out there as often as I would hope to for taking care of my skin. I highly recommend this place and any esthetician there to everyone. I legitimately don't even have words for how incredible this place is. I have struggled with acne since I was 12 - did two rounds of Accutane, have been on Spirinolactone for 5+ years, and have tried basically every topical medication under the sun. I moved to LA from Texas a little over a month ago and my skin totally freaked out - it looked worse than it has since I was in high school. Hannah is literally a miracle worker. I've had a lot of issues with my skin after giving birth, from cystic acne to melasma, and she's cleared me up every time. I would give zero stars if possible. It took me a while to write this review because I'm still so traumatized, upset, and dealing with the repercussions of trusting Jen with my wedding skincare prep. I am very very dissapointed with Jen. DO NOT COME HERE if you 1) want a clinician who cares about you and 2) want a clinician who will fix you/know what they're talking about. I spent $300+ only to have my skin RUINED and to buy expensive skincare products that I then had to trash because they were the cause of my ruin. My experience: I am getting married early November 2021 and wanted to get my skin under control. I had a few random strange pimple looking things around my mouth that I wanted to fix so I did a virtual consultation with Jen. Because I was a new customer, she was super nice and responsive and scheduled me for a consult right away. I sent her tons of pictures and on the facetime call, zoomed in on my face to show her my red acne spots. I thought since she was a PA which is a higher licensure than a regular aesthetician, she'd know her stuff. But she didn't ... she told me I have "acne" from my oily skin and recommended I buy her Acne Bundle #2 for $200+ as well as come in every 2 weeks for a facial (though they wouldn't be able to see me in person until 2 months later). I was willing and ready to drop thousands to look good for my wedding so I immediately agreed and paid. I kept a thorough record of how my skin progressed as I started to use the green face wash, benzoyl peroxide, and phresh face correction pads. And my skin got alarmingly worse and worse each day even on the days I didn't use actives, and even though I literally watched her youtube videos as I applied the products to make sure I was applying them correctly. During the consult, she told me to reach out anytime because she truly "cares" about my skin journey. Well, when my skin started worsening and reacting TERRIBLY as soon I started her products, I sent her pictures of my drastic downward spiral and she responded with a really rude response (that from my reading her negative reviews I now understand is common practice.) Rather than spend time trying to help heal me/admit that maybe her diagnosis/advice was incorrect, she took the time to instead count how many emails/pictures I had sent her so she could throw it in my face and try to "fire me" as a client. Plus, she blamed me for "not following her instructions" and applying more active product than advised even though I had not. Basically, for the entire month of June I trusted her advice and kept using her products even though my skin kept getting worse and worse. Finally, when my entire face was covered in huge red bumps and I was about to cancel my wedding because I was severely depressed, I decided to simply send a picture of my face to my PCP through the Kaiser mobile app. I asked my PCP if I could get hormone testing because I thought I had some serious issue, but from just ONE picture that my PCP forwarded to a Kaiser dermatologist - I was told I have PERIORAL DERMATITIS - NOT ACNE - and was prescribed doxycycline. The dermatologist told me to do zero therapy (cold water only) and take the antibiotics. So this whole time, from the start, I had perioral dermatitis - NOT acne - and ACNE products severely worsen dermatitis. If Jen was a true professional, she would have been able to diagnosis this from any one of the "too many pictures I burdened her with." Instead, she claimed it was acne the entire time only to continue pushing her products. She really doesn't care about me, about you, about anything except making $ back for her business that was hurt during COVID from salon shut-downs. Anyways ... once I threw away all her products and used nothing but water and took my meds, my skin cleared up practically overnight and I'm MIRACULOUSLY left with zero scarring. I sent Jen an email to explain what happened so she can avoid doing this to other patients, as my dermatologist tells me perioral dermatitis is increasingly common now because of sweating while wearing masks all day and she never responded. Too prideful to admit she was wrong. I also asked for a refund which she of course did not grant. She would have, if she cared at all. I know this because I went to Mary Scott skincare to get a refill of the green facial shampoo during June (they sell the exact same products btw) and when I explained my diagnosis to them, they GLADLY refunded me for the products. PLEASE go there instead if you have traditional acne problems ... so much better, kinder, and more knowledgeable than Corrective Skincare. Save your money, save your face. And if you have a skin condition that looks like acne but worsens with acne treatments - please do make sure it's not dermatitis - because acne products make dermatitis worse altho it looks A LOT like acne. I started going to Corrective shortly after the pandemic crisis, which also put my skin in its own crisis!! I've been struggling with managing adult acne for some years now and let me tell you... after working with Monyque, she helped me get my acne under complete control.
