I'm usually very picky about who I get my facials from, but I needed a same day appointment I could book online. Came here for one, initially an acne facial but I didn't have any fresh breakouts -- so I was recommended the deep cleansing facial. I was told the deep cleansing facial was ~$15 cheaper than the acne one so I was happy with that. Until I was added on another $40 for a service I didn't really feel was worth it, a diamond microdermabrasion? I didn't bother saying no since I really wanted to experience what Nadya thought was best for me. Also because of all the 5 star reviews. Whenever I get facials or go to the spa, I'm used to taking my clothes off and relax in a towel and anticipate a mini massage -- the service was $130 so I definitely expected a massage on my shoulders/neck of some sort. It's not like that over here. I even asked twice if I should take my sweater off thinking my chest would get some of the facial leftovers and a few extractions. This is what I experience from most estheticians. Of course once the facial is done, I was feeling thirsty after 80 mins, so I at least got water but AFTER asking for it. I realize it's a very small detail, but I expect water to be offered after someone has been laying down for over an hour. Would have been nice if there was tea even. For $130, I was expecting a lot since it was not a formal spa with amenities. And since this was a private salon station, there's a lot of potential for what can be offered to enhance the experience (tea, product samples, student discount since it's right next to UCLA). What really made me want to rate Nadya 3 stars was that I broke out after the facial. My pores were small for maybe 20 minutes after the facial but they looked noticeably larger the same day. I've attached two photos of my skin ~4 hours & 12 hours after the facial. Remember, I was told to not do acne facial since I didn't have any acne or bumps -- well, a new plump blemish developed. This was not an extraction scar, it was a full pimple that still hasn't gone away after more than a week. I do understand the other 5 star reviews. She was very nice, sweet, and her extraction method was painless and quick. She has good extraction skills. But this was clearly not up to my standards nor expectations of what a $130 (not including tip) facial is worth. I won't be coming back but I'm glad others have had a better time. I have had terrible acne, clogged pores, and scarring ever since getting off of my birth control pill a little over a year ago. I have tried countless skincare routines and nothing has been working. I hadn't had a facial in quite a while and decided to find a new place in LA. Saw the reviews for Nadya's Skin Care, and boy were all of these 5 star reviews right! I am actually in shock after my first facial with Nadya. When I went in, I had such a crazy amount acne/dirt under my skin that caused a very, very bumpy texture. I also had a decent amount of active acne. I went in for the anti-acne facial, and added the LED light therapy while I was there. Although the actual facial hurt quite a bit from the extractions (which is totally expected), the masks and the light therapy were very soothing. When I walked out of there and stroked my face, it was the smoothest it's felt in YEARS. I am so happy I could cry. Nadya really transformed my skin before the pandemic hit, after a horrible few years of post-birth control deep breakouts. Not only that, but she has recommended a few products here and there that have helped maintain my skin, even without being able to see her during the during pandemic. I am SO excited to see her once my vaccination process is complete so that I can start regular treatments again. I find her pricing to be extremely fair and reasonable. She is never pushy about upselling treatments/products and her suggestions always come from a place of helpfulness (as an example, one time I told her a product I was using and asked if she had something better. She suggested a few different options and told me which one was her personal favorite, but said any would work depending on my budget.
