Being a father of 2 boys and a Peace Officer, I wanted to ensure my boys learned to defend themselves, self respect, respect for others. I brought both of them to the Dojo to try out a class and they both loved it. Now they look forward to every class and are sure to try their "new moves" on me at home. Seeing the positive impact Sensai Jason and Cortez Full Circle was having on my boys, I decided I would sign up myself. This place honestly sucks you have to spend thousands a year to go with no month to month options so if your thinking about testing the waters no can do this place is a complete mcdojo where they make you sign hefty contracts you can't back out of. Additionally the classes are 45 mins tops where the kids barely learn anything. read more

I signed up with my niece at the end of November 2021, three months ago. We go to the adult Muay Thai classes 5 days a week, and love it. I joined to support my niece and to get into shape, but I really enjoy it and have really noticed positive changes. I have lost 20 lbs and am still loosing weight (235-215) and no longer take medication on the daily for heartburn. I went to the doctor yesterday and she asked what I had changed because all my numbers were outstanding and was closer to a healthy weight (less fat.) The warm up exercises in the beginning are rough, but accommodations are made for those who can't do the full thing. The instruction and motivation given from Coach Cliff and the other instructors is top notch. All the students are respectful, but still have fun. TLDR: I was old and fat, I am now old and less fat, and have enjoyed the process of getting healthy. Learning the sport for me is a vinous, but I do feel confident I could hold my own in a Muay Thai match. read more

My son joined Cortez Martial Arts in June of 2016. We were welcomed with open arms treated like family since the very beginning. I'm truly thankful for all my son has learned so far. The instructors are very professional and patient with the little ones and older students as well. My son is currently learning Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and he can't seem to get enough. they get no stars don't get involved with Cortez full circle its a terrible place to get a contract with they don't even tell you when your contract renews Lillie has bad customer service, rude person all they care is about money my child went there for 3 years and when we moved town I told lilie about it and could not go there anymore and stated it was ok. 7 months later in in collections for 3,329 dollars because they renew my contract automatically for a place. My daughter didn't even go there anymore and didn't even live in that area. This is one of the most well rounded academies you can ever hope to find. The Charles Gracie Jiu Jitsu program is what brought me to this academy initially. I was able to see the Kenpo MMA and Children's classes up close. Sensei Jason is a great teacher who trains alongside his students. They have one of the best programs in Northern California and are well respected in the combat sports community. You will see their team members at local competitions, cage matches and even big shows like Bellator. In my first class I was completely blown away by how high level the training was. I should mention that I was at the Yoga Soul and Jiu Jitsu so called academy prior where I learned nothing and the program had zero structure. I thought I was in good shape and had learned some BJJ. I was completely outmatched by the white belts at Cortez. I knew I had to be a part of this school and do what they do. The owner operator Jason, let me train for a while to make sure this was the right solution for me. I really respect a business owner who is willing to make sure he has the right experience and you are where you should be. Other gyms will likely just try to sign you up and not let you out easily. You wont find any of that here. They also keep excellent records and communicate where you need to improve and where you are. I have also be able to gain very critical advice along my path from Sensei Jason. This may sound like a really serious gym and it is, but the kids program is out of this world. They Cortez Kids team is so supportive and there is real family feeling here. You will find kind respectful people and a confident team. No matter what your skill level or interest you should really come try it. I would also strongly recommend that parents put their children here before the put them in any other sport. There has been a lot of controversy surrounding the lineage claimed by this teacher, who is discussed in other martial arts forums. There is a report that he studied with a usurper who lacked true respect for his own father, and many who mistakenly align with him appear to be unaware that his campaign of disinformation is designed to disparage, and to conceal the true facts. The lineage was not passed to the son, it was exploited by the son, and it would be better for this teacher to take the middle path, preferably by refraining from propagation of a promotion claimed in error by a foolish son. read more

I signed up my son ,went for 2 months and they continued to take out money up until last month even though we did not participate and quit. We asked for them to work something out with us and they refused. I have a medical note from my Dr. Stating I have bad anxiety after a car crash I had and couldn't handle the stress of driving my children to place's and that they need to cancel the membership and they sent me to collections for the full amount. They are thieves and untrustworthy, so don't go unless you want to have your money taken with no consideration for yours or your family well being. read more

Sensei Jason is an absolutely amazing instructor, incorporating several styles into his BJJ training. Throughout my time at the dojo, Sensei Jason took the time with each student to coach, mentor and improve their discipline. Students have access to online training videos through the academy's online platform and during the Covid-19 shutdown zoom classes were available to help keep the students active and engaged. My son started a little over a month and a half ago, prior to that we tried other jiu-jitsu classes around Central Valley in which my wife and I felt didn't have the structure in which Cortez MMA provides. Overall I will say it has what we were seeking in that the Sensei's are excellent teachers and handle each child with a high level of care. They are very instructive and take the time to teach each student individually if they need more assistance. I love that there is respect, honor, and humility taught within the dojo itself but also that students bow before they step onto the mat and when they leave the mat. On a personal note I feel the owner and his wife treat each client not just as clients but like family making the atmosphere more inviting and welcoming. You can tell there's sincerity and pride they take for their business as I feel it's an important attribute especially when dealing with a large group of people, it shows their dedicated owners. Now to the critiquing part, nothing bad :) the dojo is immaculately clean and new! There are different classes they offer such as kenpo, wresting, MMA, and their new fighter fit class. The location has easy access with lots of parking, besides the staff the other parents are equally friendly. I will continue to bring my son as there is a lot to gain and learn from sensei jason and sensei rocky's teachings! I will also be trying out their fighter fit program, just another example of Cortez MMA being open and optional to existing and potentially new clients. read more
