Shilo is a knowledgeable and fun guide. He really showed us a good time and worked the day to suit our preferences. He is also very knowledge about the area and the wildlife in the area. He kept track of us as we moved down the river and was readily available when we wanted to get out and go do a section again. Loved the lead guide's safety presentation that was peppered with some great humour. Punctual; clean gear; loved all the writing in the bus. Great place. There are a couple of primitive restrooms along the tour, but there is a real bathroom at the center. There's also food and drinks at the center. It was a pretty big coach and we had both a driver and a tour guide. There was plenty of bottled water they gave us along the way. Our guide was very knowledgeable. We stopped at a few different places where she spoke and we were able to take pictures. On a tour like that, you do sometimes end up waiting for people who dawdle, so you need some patience. One of the main stops was the Cliff Dwellings which includes a tour where you have to be able to do steps and climb ladders. A few people sat out. I'd suggest maybe looking up a YouTube video of that tour to make sure it's something you really want to do if it's questionable for you. We didn't stop at all the places in the park, but our guide did tell us places we may want to go on our own. If I had it to do over, I would've probably gotten a two day pass and come back. The center was closed when we got back, so there was no restroom or places to get refreshments until you left the park.

He made his presentations, both on the bus and at the various sites (like the pit houses) very informative and easy to listen to. Marylin at the desk was very helpful and considerate. We were there on a day when they were having some computer difficulties, but It was their first day for the 2025 season. They made sure that we arrived in time for the park ranger - led tour of the Cliff Palace. One word of advice/caution. You need to be relative physically fit to tour Cliff Palace. The exploration is a one way only route. Once you start on the descent, you are COMMITED. There is NO turning back. You will descend steep and uneven stairs with no hand rails and climb back up via 3 period type ladders. If you're not up for this, don't go down to the Palace. Obviously, this is not the fault of the tour. In fact, you can see the Palace and other structures from the view point platform. Mark used a laser pointer to high light some of the features. A few of us on this tour, including me (I have bad knees), let discretion be the better part of valor and went back to the bus. Mark was prepared for this. He made a nice presentation on the history and features of the park and engaged in pleasant and informative conversation while we waited for the others to return. Then we continued onto the rest of the tour. Remember, you are high up in the mountains. The Cliff Palace's elevation is about 7,000 feet. The Far View Terrace is up about 8.500 feet. The air is thinner than what you might be used to. As long as you are prepared for these minor physical challenges, you will have a GREAT time! We cannot recommend taking this tour highly enough! In Telluride, Colorado for a long weekend and decided to check out the white water rafting. The…read morewinter snowfall was great and there is still lots of snow on the peaks. My wife had heard that Mild to Wild rafting took great care of their clients. Last year at this time, we were wading up the San Miguel river / stream and fly fishing. Shallow water, tranquil pools and great fishing made it a different weekend. When we booked this, I thought it must be a mistake as this stream did not seem strong enough for rafting and narrow in width. What a difference a year makes. The river was full, fierce with heavy water and good class 3 rapids for the next 1 1/2 hour. Big rocks, fast water, big snags and quick currents were the norm today. One had better stay in the boat, as it would troublesome swimming in 42 degree water. Alyssia, our guide was fabulous and serious about following her instructions. She navigated the rocks, snags and fast water. She maneuvered our boat well. For the next 1 1/2 hours, we had 3-4 foot swells and worked the entire trip. We have rafted many rivers and this was one of our shorter trips but a 5/5 on adventure. For a great adventure, beautiful scenery and a gorgeous day, raft with Mild to Wild. You will have a fun filled and adventurous memory for life.

Considering that I wouldn't have been able to stop if it was the common museum hours like 10 or 11 am open, I was very thankful. Moreover the information they provide within the exhibit in the building (the aerial photos are awesome!), and the great booklet they hand you for the self guided tour through the ruins are excellent. Make sure to have a hat and wear good footwear, as there are no shades and the path down to the ruins are steep. Also don't forget to thank the museum staff, and buy something from the shop to support them!
