Avoid at all costs. I don't normally leave reviews, but my experience at this Corvette repair shop was so unprofessional that I feel obligated to warn others. From the moment I walked in, the staff acted like they were doing me a favor just by acknowledging my presence. I brought in my Corvette for what should have been a straightforward repair, but instead I was met with eye-rolling, dismissive attitudes, and condescending remarks. When I asked a few basic questions about the repairs, the manager actually insulted my intelligence and implied I didn't know anything about cars. Instead of explaining the issue, they mocked me in front of other customers. Completely unacceptable and beyond unprofessional. The worst part? They didn't even fix the problem correctly the first time, and when I came back to point it out, I was met with more sarcasm and zero accountability. If you value being treated with respect and want your car handled by people who take pride in their work--not people who insult their customers--look elsewhere. There are plenty of Corvette specialists out there who actually know how to behave professionally. This place is a joke. read more

I called today about getting a quote over the phone. They wouldn't provide a quote and I understand that. However, the girl was very short and NOT friendly whatsoever. I asked if I should bring my car in to get a quote then? As I am willing to do so... She responded by saying we have a two week waiting period and that they charge $200 per hour. Talking as if I can't afford them. Well miss I charge $500 per hour for my commercial AC business I own. I also belong to a Corvette club here in San Diego. I'll be sure to pass along your the information for them. Unreal.... Take your Vette to Courtesy Chevrolet instead. read more

The Corvette Shop is absolutely, positively, THE # 1 repair shop to take your Corvette. Larry (and Crew) has the undisputed knowledge of ALL things Corvette; he's like a walking encyclopedia. It can be stressful taking your prize possession into a shop not knowing exactly what your outcome is going to be, but you can be assured no need to worry here. Yes, usually I'm one of those guys that wouldn't leave a biz review unless the experience was a bad one. In this case it was anything but so I felt a special "drive by" was in order. While I'm not new to classic cars(been a long time Gearhead) I will admit that this is my first vintage Corvette. Always wanted one, just could never quite get one. Finally managed to and as usual, it was anything but "as described" by the seller. So what else is new. Anyway, I much prefer knowing where I stand right from the start. No need to learn all about my car while it's on the back of a flatbed tow truck. A neighbor of mine recommended Larry and the guys at The Corvette Shop and I'm glad they did. Not that anything major was wrong, just wanted to know where I stood from the start. Scheduled a time where I could bring my car in for a lookover. As mentioned, I know cars but not late 60's Vette's in particular. Best hour I ever spent. They pointed out a few areas of immediate concern, a couple other things that will need future attention down the road, as well as things I can let slide for now. Really helped to alleviate lots of the anxiety from thinking my "new" Vette purchase was a huge mistake. Thanks for the peace of mind guys. I haven't done a ton of business here but it's not hard to tell that something is wrong. Had an appointment for an oil change in the morning. Showed up on time and the owner says "Sorry all the bays are full" like it can happen to anyone. They get the work done when I come back 5 hours later. Price for the oil change was not competitive. Fast forward one year, the clutch pedal is not returning on my Corvette, so I stop by to discuss in person instead of calling first. Larry is having a deep conversation with some visiting friend & can't be bothered to stop and talk to me (the customer). I ask him about prices for a master cylinder & he says he doesn't provide quotes. Don't expect a lot of leeway if you choose to use these guys. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. I had one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever encountered at this Corvette shop. The owner Larry, and his receptionist are incredibly rude and unprofessional. Every interaction I've had with them I was talked down to and treated like I didn't know anything completely condescending and disrespectful. It's one thing to be passionate about cars, but it's another to treat your customers like they're beneath you. No matter how experienced someone is, there's absolutely no excuse for arrogance and hostility even after spending thousands here. Save yourself the time and the disrespect. Terrible service. Called the people twice on two different occasions and the mechanic on the phone was ridiculously rude. Told me he didn't do quotes, and that he didn't care if he was rude, "it's 5 o'clock on a Monday night and I'm tired as fuck and I don't care enough about your problems," is what he said. I said it very calmly that this was the second time I had called and that they were rude both times and he said he didn't care. Another thing he said was "our customers come here to spend money not to get problems fixed." We were looking to buy a Corvette in the San Diego area and came from out of town. We arranged an inspection of the car on a Saturday with Larry. Larry's comprehensive inspection was golden enabling us to come up with a good validation and develop a hit list of items we need to overhaul. This is a project car for my son and I to wrench on and Larry was a champion of our vision. He took extra time to point out to my son things he could easily do and how to do it. I have read other reviews that said Larry was rude. Personally, I found his personality refreshing. He will tell you what you need to hear rather than you want to hear. An important caveat: I never actually went here for service. But a single phone call to the Corvette shop saved me $400 today, so needless to say, I am thrilled. The driver's side window of my '85 vette was broken and Boulevard Automotive (generally a great shop) thought I needed a new window regulator, which they couldn't find for less than $430. I called a bunch of places and explained the problem, and no one was any help, until I called the Corvette Shop. The guy who answered the phone immediately said "it goes up halfway and then there's a clicking noise? You don't need a new regulator, you just need a new ribbon. MidAmerica sells it for $20." I called Boulevard back and asked them if it was just the ribbon that was broken, and they said yes, but that they had thought you couldn't buy the ribbon separately. I bought the ribbon from MidAmerica and had it sent to Boulevard, and I saved $400 -- all because the man who answered the phone at the Corvette shop was insanely knowledgable. I still think Boulevard Automotive is a good shop, but from now on, I will take my corvette to the Corvette Shop first. read more

I have a buddy that owns a smog shop next to the corvette shop so He wanted me to visit when I had a chance. I usually do oil change, tranny /diff fluid change at home and I did change my water pump myself for my z06, so I know how to use couple hand tools. I have 02 c5 z06 with turn signal/hazzard light not working properly. I go down there and the owner Larry tells me with out even checking out the car and say its the flasher switch that is bad and explained how long it will take if I do it myself and answered all my questions with smile. He told me I can get it from ebay or from GM for like $30~50. He knew what he was talking about. WOW! I told him that If I can not fix it myself, I'll bring it to him. But I fixed it thanks to Larry :) What a great guy! They had C1, C3, C4, BBC c5s when I was there. Great shop with super cool onwer. I would def recommand this shop for all corvette owners. Larry is very knowledgeable. He fixed my 1982 Corvette Crossfire idle issues in less than a hour. My car has been in a number of Corvette shops in town and I have spent lots of money trying to get this car running the way it should none of them could get the Crossfire system working correctly. Larry was always friendly to me but it was not one of his busy days when I just stopped in as he was waiting for parts for the cars that were in his shop. However while I was there he got over 6 calls only one set up an appointment the others just wanted information. So while I was there answering phones took about 20 minutes of his time. So give the guy a break on wanting to minimize the conversation time it cost him money and you may never become a customer. I will tell you he offered to tell me or my regular mechanic how to fix my idle issue over the phone or if we would drop by. I stopped by today to arrange a time when that could be done and as he was open he said he would take a quick look. By the way he never asked for money to do the adjustments. I just volunteered to pay for his time. $100 was worth every cent. I finally have a car that idles correctly. If you want someone to talk to, go to a bar. If you want your corvette fixed make and appointment or drop in and talk to him face to face. read more

Larry is a knowledgable guy. But $560 for a fan belt change and carburetor adjustment on my 1965 Corvette? Are you kidding me? The belt is right up front and should be easy and fast to replace. You don't have to take any covers or parts off. He adjusted the carburetor and it worked great for about 5 miles. Then I parked it and it wouldn't start again. I had to have it towed to the Carburetor Shop off of University Ave who did a great job at fixing whatever Larry did for only $120. I like Larry and he knows his Vettes, but unfortunately gouging me as a first time customer makes it so that I cannot go back. Bummer since I will have the car for the rest of my life and was looking for a good mechanic I can use for the next 30-40 years. read more

Larry was very friendly and straight to the point, he even took time to help me understand what was normal and what to look for as far as the way the car performed. Ripped Off. The Corvette Shop substituted some clunky truck part for my C4's brake booster. Claim was that C4 boosters are unavailable but a search of the Internet shows that not to be the case. It changed the feel of the brakes and looks like crap where it used to look clean under the hood. Over-charged and under-delivered. Avoid this place. read more
