From the moment we walked in without an appointment , I felt welcomed and at ease. Dr. Mabry was incredibly patient and gentle with my senior dog. Bo hadn't been feeling well, Dr. Mabry listened to my concerns. He took the time to thoroughly examine Bo. Then he explained all of my options and answer all of my questions. Bo was in serious but stable condition. Bo needed immediate attention, the staff was incredibly compassionate and caring during a difficult time. They went above and beyond to ensure my Bo was comfortable and well taken care of. Coryell Veterinary Clinic - My good ol' boy Bo - Veterinarians Near Me - Gatesville, Texas

My first visit was due to having to put my dog down. That in itself is a terrible experience, but to top it off both people at the front were very rude and unfriendly (clearly talking bad about clients in earshot of clients). Then the girl, (maybe the vet tech) obviously didn't believe us when we told her our large dog couldn't walk because she kept trying to pull him up. My husband and I both told her twice that he had lost his ability to walk. We get in the room and she's just pushing him around not being gentle at all. He's already scared, we are already emotional and our experience at this place 10 min in is horrible. To top it off the room was absolutely disgusting. We did opt for the cremation service and whoever provided that did a wonderful job. However when I went to pick him up the girl at the front told me she would be with me in a few (no one was in the waiting room or at the front desk) so I patiently waited for her to finish up. All the while she carrying on a conversation with 2 other workers. It took another worker walking out from the back to ask if I had been helped for the girl at the front to help me. Bottom line this place is disgusting and the staff is rude and not caring or compassionate. If you are able to avoid giving them your business most definitely do so. I will say the vet was very nice and compassionate and that's about all the good I have to say. read more

We took our beloved dog, Minnie Pearl, to be seen by Dr. Clay on July 1, 2024 because she had so many medical issues and wanted his opinion about her Quality of Life. He was so compassionate, kind and understanding about her condition that he not only treated her as if she was one of his own loved ones but treated us as if we were part family. He took so much time with us in explaining what was wrong after the X-rays and she wasn't going to live much longer and it was time for her to go. Minnie Pearl was treated with so much kindness and empathy. It wasn't an easy decision for us but we knew she'd been suffering for some time and we couldn't let her suffer any longer. Thank you Dr. Clay for what you do which we know it's not an easy job. Please keep up the wonderful and caring work that you do. read more

2 stars for Dr Mabry and Dr Clay. For being reasonably priced vets that don't try to oversell you stuff you don't need. Sadly, after going there with many dogs and cats the past few years and easily leaving 15K or so, this vet hospital has collapsed on greed. They refuse to stop accepting new clients and walk ins, meanwhile you may need to call 20 or 30 times before you get someone on the phone. When you do get one on the phone they are too busy to actually help, even locating a pain medication RX. You can't get an appointment anymore sooner than 10 days+. RX request denied because "the dogs name was not on it" though I come since years, not even a call letting me know. Nothing. A new RX request ignored since 36 hours. My dog is in pain. They want me to drive to Gatesville for a 2 hour round trip rather than returning a fax when I am unable to do so. Vet records I downloaded today are incomplete. Past treatments not on records. The female Vet. Dr Schneider is not likeable and knows everything, though she clearly doesn't know much. Of course she is the fastest vet to get an appointment with, but you might as well not bother. I even went as far as to e-mail Dr Clay personally yesterday afternoon, no response :-( Exceptionally saddened by what this has turned into. But hey, they made the parking lot larger, so twice as many people can wait now.....after all one needs parking for 15 cars with 2 exam rooms......that alone says a lot. Update: Downgraded to 1 star. To add insult to injury, I received an e-mail a few hours after posting my review, letting me know they now located to RX requests and denied them both "Because Little Bit needs to be seen by a vet for a lower dose". My dog has TUMORS. My dog is crying out in pain. I had an APPOINTMENT for her 5 days later, soonest I could get. They throw carprofen at your dog if they need it or not, but my cancer dog has to be reevaluated before you can give me some carprofen to last until her appointment? What is my dog, some kind of addict? read more

Iove the veterinarians here especially dr. clay but it's impossible to call for an appt. they simply won't answer the phone and have no answering service. I business with no answering machine....incredible. read more

The entire team treated my cat with such care and professionalism. She had to have a hind leg amputated, and Dr. Mabre called us post surgery to let us know she did great. He gave us so much useful info and was very positive about her prognosis. Definitely eased the fears and anxiety I had as a pet owner. Thanks again! read more

I am sorry the person that left negative feedback has no compassion or understanding for emergencies. Sometimes things happen, how spoiled can you be. That being said, the staff is super nice and the vets fantastic. The prices very reasonable.I rescue and have gone there with emergencies and had nothing but positive experiences read more

This vet center is the only vet center for all of Gatesville all the way up to possibly Waco and it knows it and it overcharges people and conducts unneeded tests to the detriment of the client. I would not recommend it at all. I took my dog in because she was hot panting and not eating and they did all the tests they possibly could charge me for and all they came up with is a liver inflammation maybe/could be kind of answer and they wanted to keep her overnight and run more tests. She apparently ate something bad and it effected her badly and they ran my bill up to the tune of $405 just to give me a bottle of antibiotics and a pain pill. They are gouging their customers, so beware. read more

We are relatively new to the area and have 3 senior cats. The folks at this clinic are wonderful and have taken care of 2 of our 3 seniors at this point. Very friendly folks, great service, and quite enjoyable to work with. CAring and compassionate, and even in light of one of our "old ladies" is a little aggressive at times, they were wonderful with her also. I would highly recommend this clinic to anyone with animals they love and care about. They will get great service and care here. read more

I would never go back. Very expensive and RUDE! If you go make sure you have it in writing how much it is going to cost. They did some in house blood work and over night stay was $550. They still could not tell me what was wrong with my pet. read more

Our four legged daughter tore her ACL in both her knees, not at the same time though. Dr Tarlton our normal vet recommended the Coryell Vet Clinic. Even though we live in Round Rock, Texas it was the best decision we made and well worth the drive. Everyone was outstanding and extremely helpful. There are not enough words in the dictionary to describe how amazing this clinic is. Its like a good movie you walk into, they love their jobs and the animals. From the moment I walked into that clinic I knew that whatever decision I had to make for my little Lola would be the right one if it was any advice given from the staff at this clinic. They were a true blessing to me and my family and I cant thank them enough for saving my little Lola. Dr. Clay was honest with me from the start, called with an update when he said he would and compassionate. I called the clinic whenever I wanted to check on Lola while she was hospitalized and I wasn't sure who was more excited, me or the staff that Lola was doing so good. Please avoid this place. They are incredibly rude. I just drove 30 miles for an appointment to be told that the only vet was called out and there would be at least an hour wait. They had my cell and office number and couldn't be bothered to call me and let me know. Terrible customer service. read more

We drove from Round Rock, Texas to Coryell Veterinary Clinic at the advice Dr. John Tarlteton in Georgetown, Texas since he does not perform ACL surgery that Bina needed. I made a return trip 4 days later after Bina had removed some of her staples. The doctor saw us within 30 minutes, he was in surgery and once he was finished he replaced her staples and at no charge. I am returning today to Coryell today for a possible tear of the ACL on the other leg. I will make the 1.5 hour one way trip to Coryell any time Bina can not be fixed by Dr. Tarleton. The Doctors and the Staff at Coryell are Outstanding caring professionals! read more
