Concrete installed 9 months ago and I am not happy. We picked color so it was not boring gray. The contrete forms and shape were pretty decent, and things seem to go well but the color never dried uniformly (or even close). There were large dark spots, large white spots, and other spots where you could clearly see where the finisher messed up. It's a spotty blotchy mess and looks absolutely horrible. We tried and tried to get this guy to resolve the issue. At first we were told "give it time" - which we did. When we contact him again because "time" did not solve the problem, he acted like we had waited too long (HUH?!). The back large patio slab now has big cracks and it looks like garbage. Between the cracks and the horrible color, I'm disgusted and so disappointed that we spent so much money for a clearly unprofessional job. Save your money and go with someone who actually knows what they are doing. Posted my review and the owner is trying to pretend like it wasn't his company that did the poor work. The name on the checks I wrote (and you cashed) was Cory's Custom Concrete, so yeah it was your company. read more

I went with Cory based on his stellar yelp reviews. As you can see from the photos, my experience was anything but positive. This has been the worst home renovation disaster I have ever & probably will ever deal with. It's taken me a few months to write this review because for awhile it was just disbelief & no words to describe what happened to our backyard. I paid Cory $6,350 to remove an old wooden patio cover, demo our old concrete slab & pour a new 20x32 slab. The slab was poured in December. It was a couple weeks later when I realized something wasn't right. Our slab was not curing. We had huge moisture spots that would not dry out. I informed Cory & he encouraged us to wait it out because it was winter, only a few hours of sun in our backyard a day etc. By April, four months had gone by & it was clear that the moisture spots were here to stay. Cory said he has never seen a curing process take this long, but he had an idea of what to do to fix it. His plan included pouring pool acid on the slab & then torching it. This is when things got even worse. Not only did the torching process, his "solution", not work, the acid he poured all over our slab left massive yellow stains. Cory stood silent in our backyard looking at his job & realized there was nothing he knew to do. I can't tell you how many times he reminded me to refer back to his contract that states that we may experience "variance" in our concrete. I'm sorry but this is nowhere near the typical variance expected of concrete, & what he did to try to "fix" the problem was unconventional to say the least. He left us scrambling to figure something out on our own. I looked into concrete staining & was quoted nearly $2,300. I text Cory giving him an opportunity to help us out with the cost. He said he would get back to me...never heard from him again. Luckily a family friend suggested trying a less costly sandblasting so I went with that instead. The last time I saw Cory he said "I feel bad for leaving you with this" & then left & never looked back. Unfortunately feeling bad doesn't cover the nearly 1000 unanticipated dollars it cost us to have our slab sandblasted to make it somewhat presentable, so yelpers need to be informed. If you're cool with this level of (& Corys definition of) "variance" then please call Corys custom Concrete. When everything goes to plan, Cory may do an ok job, but if you run into a problem, he will not, nor will he know HOW to help you. read more

Cory and his crew are solid, just like other people have said. I had a difficult backyard project for retaining walls and patio extension with no access for equipment or material delivery. Other contractors said no way or flaked out on me after they quoted me. He brought in laborers (legal Americans btw) to carry everything down by hand. He works with another licensed concrete contractor, so even when he wasn't there, there was always a capable foreman on-site. His crew was polite to my family and played with my dog on their breaks.
