wonderful family owned and run business that I have been a customer of for 20 years. they have been the purveyors of my holiday fish feasts every year, (the line of folks waiting for their 7 fishes orders on Christmas Eve is magical!! like old days in Brooklyn) and fish's always fresh - I go pretty much weekly - great selection, and Mike and staff help advise how to prepare it, cook it etc if you need. they'll shell the shrimp too. aside from the fish, I most appreciate the friendly greetings when I go in, asking about my family etc. you don't get that anymore in most places... I have been going to this fish market for the last 5 years. This is an old-school fish market. Excellent quality fish make, and they make you feel right at home when you come in. The salmon and fluke are fantastic and always fresh. We order shrimp for the holidays and have never had any issues with the quality or the service. I bought whitenig fish from that store on 6708 3rd Ave Bayridge I paid $53 for it The fish was horrible they smell like sh*t i brought them back to return them The store was closed I do not recommend any one to buy from that store The guy in the store told me that these were fresh and the best fish. Excellent quality seafood. I've purchased shrimp and salmon at this establishment so far. They cleaned the shrimp for me which was so, so awesome. I seared the salmon in cast iron then popped it in the oven. It came out so delicious and moist. I certainly will be a regular customer. You won't go wrong with this neighborhood gem. Fantastic fish store. They stock a nice variety of truly fresh fish - you can tell by the texture and flavor, and from the fact that it never smells fishy in there. Everything I've tried has been perfect. Perhaps best of all, the owner is very knowledgeable and very nice. Last time he gave me suggestions for cooking fluke, which I wanted to try but knew nothing about, and today he gave me guidance on when the bluefish would be coming in from Long Island. I don't understand how this place stays in business, I can only imagine that their customers don't drive and this place is a matter of convenience. Most of what's listed they never have!! Branzino, Cajun catfish fillets, red snapper, monkfish, etc are examples of what they claim to have and when you ask they always seem to "have run out". The fish market just a few blocks away on 5th between 76th & 77th is SO much better with various selections of fresh fish. I ordered my first delivery from here for Christmas Eve after several people highly recommended. I can say they did not disappoint. The prices are great and the fish is so fresh and delicious with great size portions. To top it off, the customer service is exceptional. My delivery was scheduled for the 23rd, which naturally was a very busy day so understand if your delivery comes the later portion for the day. The woman on the phone was super nice, gave me my order number over the phone and told me the time to pick up the fish. the next day, the store was packed but was moving very quickly. I always find their fish fresh and affordable BUT....I don't give a 4 or 5 star ratings because of the attitude. They always tell me if I could call them before I get in so they have the time to clean the shrimps I am buying (sorry dude but it's only 1 pound!). If your store is open I enter and order. Don't tell me to call you in the afternoon every single time I am there. If you are closing just don't sell me the shrimps and sorry but I am walking down the block and see you open and decide I will have shrimps tonight! The fish is very very fresh and good, the owner Mike is very nice and knows what he is doing. The store is very clean too. His brother Joe with the grey hair is a good guy. My only complaint is the big woman with the glasses who works behind the desk. She is so nasty when you call in and order fish. She acts like the boss but she's not. I think it's time for her to hit the bricks and retire, she's been there to long . PS what happen to soup the big lady with the big glasses eat recipe? It's not the same ! read more

3.75 Stars This is one of those Quaint Nabe markers that make Bay Ridge so picturesque. Even the awning scream authentic fish monger! For the actual goods they provide fresh high quality fish and seafood. Selections is a bit limited (nothing exotic or sushi quality from what I have seen) but covers all the basics and for me wanting really nothing. (Love fish not a big fish cooker myself ). I believe in the concept of Valentine's Day. We should be celebrating the positivity in the world rather then all the negativity that bombards us each and every day. But it is difficult to avoid the commercialism of the holiday. To celebrate we decide to stay home, we stopped at Cosentino's with limited expectations of the oysters we were seeking. It turned out the oysters which they shucked for us & put on ice were by far the best oysters I have had possibly ever in any restaurant I have frequented. And the cost was beyond compare.
