Counter area.

I finally took the plunge and decided to try them. I remember speaking with the previous owner when the first opened. I did not know they had a new owner. I can tell that the owner is trying to make this place work. What we ordered was good, o would not call it great. We had the salmon burger and fries priced around twenty dollars. Also the tuna poke bowl around the same price. You have to order at the counter and then if you are staying, they will bring the food to your table. One issue I ran into is that when you order your food, it brought out to you as they are ready. If you are eating with someone else they may get their food before yours. Then you are waiting 5 minutes or more for your food. It's a little uncomfortable as most people would like to eat together. They can definitely do better job in this area. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There are some challenges as there is not really enough seating to accommodate customers during colder months. Right now there are two small tables on the street and three small tables inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The garden area can seat more and probably is only good for about four or five months if the weather is dry.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I would tend to recommend them more for take out and not sit down unless you are ok with the things I mentioned.

Amazing mussels in garlicky marinara

Have ordered from Bay Ridge Fish Bar a few times. The best dish I have had is the Mussels. They serve them in this intensely garlicky and flavorful sauce that you can literally drink! Ask for extra bread for dipping. When they had the buy 1 get 1 special on it I saved one order and it was incredible over pasta the next day. Other dishes I have tried are the build your own poke which was very fresh but the dressing and rice weren't as flavorful as a sushi spot, the fish and chips was really good with nicely battered fresh fish and plenty of fries, the salt and vinegar fries really didn't have much vinegar flavor and weren't worth the upcharge and the crab cake sandwich was good with a large well seasoned crab cake. I like that they have specials and the delivery is always fast. The actual menu is much larger than the menus on GH and UE so it may be best to check those out and order direct.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]This place felt super homey and everyone was so nice.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Sat in the patio in the back.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Pot of mussels for 20$ makes it worth it in itself. It was a Monday and they seem to do lobster roll specials on Mondays. Fried calamari was also very good. Shrimp tacos were great as well. Fish and chips were alright - wish they were more crispy. All in all, will come back to try their seafood pasta and other things! Their menu is pretty extensive, so excited to come back again

They used to only take cash but now accept card. The owner and staff are very friendly but the wait time can be quite long so I would order ahead or come here for a slow lunch. The calamari with red sauce, chowder, and pasta were all delicious and I would definitely come back!

Lobster Linguini

4 stars for the customer service. I've been having this place on my list from seeing it from IG. Let me start off by saying parking in this area is horrid, you'll circle around but will find something eventually. It's a real fish market where you order the fresh fish off the cold display and they cook it to order. There was so many varieties of crustaceans and fish you don't know what to choose from. I went during mother's days weekend and it had a special surf and turf which was lobster and steak. The steak was amazing and cooked well . The lobster was cooked perfect but the butter sauce was average. It needed more seasoning. I also had the lobster linguine that was really oily. The baked clams were really good as well.

Backed clams- seasoned to perfection

Amazing food! Fresh and delicious- easy to order and very quick! The lobster roll I couldn't take a pic of but it was out of this world delicious! My fish was seasoned to perfection. I didn't even know the person behind the register whom was also bringing the food out was the owner himself! The service was quick and will deff be back soon for a seafood boil! The table next to us had a seafood boil and it looked amazing as well! Loved every bite of my food!

Sunday Special: Shrimp Burrito
Julie T.

Right as you walk in there's fresh seafood waiting for you. I was greeted immediately with a friendly face. Because I follow them on Instagram I ordered their special they highlighted for that Sunday: a shrimp burrito. Hubs got the lobster roll and we grabbed a seat outside in the back. We regretted the decision only because it was colder than we thought and my sweater was not doing its job. My guy kept us updated on our food and apologized for the wait but it was so understandable cuz there was a cute (birthday?) party and the kitchen was hustling to get their orders in. It's a small-ish space; party table in the back for about 6, table in front for 2, bar stools by the register for 4, and outdoor seating could be for about 10. But when we wanted to move, they made sure to clear the table and have it ready. Service is so attentive and kind that it felt rare. Okay, the FOOD: that lobster roll was at capacity and the fries were perfect. The shrimp burrito had shrimp in nearly every bite. The size was enough where I could finish but also feel stuffed but also could walk. We couldn't stop there. We had to take home some appetizers that they have prepared in the fridge. While their homemade hummus looked gorgeous, we opted for mac and cheese and the crab empanadas. I also had some pieces of salmon broiled. All this seafood and a couple of drinks came out to be under $100. I'll definitely be back!

Fried Calamari

Oh my gosh the shrimp rice balls and the lobster roll and the calamari were absolutely amazing. I could not stop raving about the shrimp rice balls. The texture and fresh flavor for everything you can possibly order here is perfection. The lobster rolls are filled- they absolutely do not skimp out on the lobster! The service was great and Mo was very kind. Will be back for the seafood pasta and the fish!

Let's start with the good - the service and ambiance were on point. I went on a Sunday evening around 7pm. It was busy inside, but since I was a solo diner I was seated immediately by the bar. The servers were friendly and attentive. Probably 3-4 different people checked in multiple times throughout the meal. Where I struggle is with the actual burger itself. As a non-resident New Yorker, for me $22.50 is a lot to spend on a burger and fries. It needs to rock my world at that price point. And it just didn't. I got the B&B Burger. The onion ring tasted like it had been refried a second time to make my burger. The bread was crumbly like it was on the verge of going stale. The actual beef patty itself was decent - good flavor. Usually I can overlook an okay burger if the fries are top notch, but these fries were under-seasoned and also 'just okay'. I also got a side of Chicken Tenders. These were good - no complaints here. I really wanted to like this spot, but not sure this would be a return visit for me.

We loved the food…read more Came here on a saturday for lunch before the world cup. We arrived just when it opened I think. The place was pretty quiet. Friendly waitress greeted us and sat us immediately. Menu's came out and they recommended a pizza and burger. We agreed and ordered. Place started to pick up and get busy immediately after we ordered. Food came out pretty quickly. We each had a burger. Not a lot of options on the menu but we all tried the emily burger. It was worth it. Think, juicy and with an amazingly unique taste. The ingredients were high quality, the burger cooked to perfection. The table also split the modern pizza (I think). Not sure what to expect from this one but turns out it was perfect, unique and delicious. The cheese taste really shined through. Overall, we were super happy with the food here. Stop by if you have a chance.

Today however it wasn't pizza that brought me here, it was the famous Emmy Burger. To begin with the atmosphere of the restaurant is dim lighting a few tables with a reasonable sized bar in the middle of the room. They also have an open kitchen concept where just past the bar you can see the cooks working. My server Inda was polite and knowledgeable about the menu. My burger was excellent, normally I don't eat my burger with a knife and folk, but in this case with all the cheese and sauce oozing down the sides, not to mention the caramelized onions, it was necessary. (If I were home I wouldn't mind having burger juices running down my arm, but other people were eating in the restaurant also). The tiny pickles which I can't remember the name of were an added treat to the burger. I decided to order mine with the loaded fries. Just imagine the ground burger with all the toppings covering french fries and add melted white cheese. Since I was alone I didn't order a pizza because how would I eat it all, but next time I will try the pizza. I don't mind paying extra for a burger when it's aged beef and the taste is great. I definitely recommend this location. There is a fast food burger restaurant next door to Emily's but I can't imagine there burgers compare. I will try them another time and let you know. That's all for now, see you on my next review.

Cuisine: 8 Service: 6…read moreDecor: 7 Value: 10 Overall: 8 I rarely update my reviews, but this place needs to be recognized as the Brooklyn institution that it is. They say some things age like fine wine, and I believe this restaurant falls in that category. After 55 years, this family oriented fast food shop known for its famous roast beef sandwich and other popular greasy goodness is still standing. I swung by recently for my usuals and glad to report that everything still tasted the same, just slightly more pricey year after year as expected. My regular order has always been the Roast Beef w/ Cheese, which was maybe $4 when I first tasted it over 25 years ago. It is now $9.45 or $.50 less for no cheese. Regardless, the roast beef (medium) is still tender and juicy, piled on top of a soft and pillowy, freshly made bread that's been dunked in a bath of delicious beef gravy. The ooey gooey cheese makes it complete for me. Everything else is solid. Nothing fantastic or worth driving out of your way for. Don't come here looking for the best version of everything on the menu. However, if in the neighborhood, this place is an inexpensive experience that brings you back in time, when the world was less complicated and a night out with family meant a delicious trip to a local restaurant like Roll-N-Roaster. Enjoy it for what it is and you'll have a good time.

Driving through Brooklyn and stopped for the first time in prob. 10 years, and it was the same quality, portion and taste as I remembered. I'm not even a big roast beef fan but it is just so good here, and their fries are legendery, too. Their iced tea and lemonade is also memorable, in a good way. We spent enough ($50) to get a free pizza and that too was tasty - thin crust. Can't wait to stop by again in another few years. It's worth the stop.

I ordered: * Truffle Maker ($11.59) * Truffle Parmesan Fries ($6.50) * Chicken Bites with BBQ sauce ($8.05) * Large Yuzu Honey Lemonade ($4.00) Truffle maker was pretty good and I was glad I was able to remove the caramelized onions and truffle aioli (I'm picky). The bun is soft and sweet and the burger has a good amount of sautéed mushrooms. Truffle Parmesan fries were pretty standard, but still very good. Yuzu honey lemonade has bits of citrus at the bottom of the drink and it was refreshing. I saved the chicken bites hours later and it was still pretty crispy after being microwave. Texture was reminiscent of Taiwanese popcorn chicken, nicely seasoned. Overall had a pleasant experience, I definitely want to return and try the rest of their menu.

Not all restaurants have restrooms that are made available to customers. That is an A+ in my book. Food 10/10 I ordered Hous Burger (hold the onions. Don't at me) it was pretty good. The taste of their burgers is different from most of the burger places I have tried before. I have also ordered Yuzu Honey Lemonade. I was trying to taste the honey in the lemonade. I guess I was expecting too much. The drink was refreshing. I may try the Matcha Yuzu Lemonade next. I met a gentleman who goes by the name Ten P aka 10pushups on IG. He recommended that I try his cola shake. That is what I got, plus the whipped cream. I was honestly looking for the taste of Coca-Cola because Cola is in the name. Regardless of what I expected, the shake was pretty good. I am not a shake person, so when he asked me to try it, I made an exception. Overall: I plan on coming back to Bun Haus. This was good eats.

Curious about the "famous" Brooklyn roast beef war -- yeah! it's a thing! -- T and I decided to see for ourselves. (Once I try the competition I'll weigh in with my vote.) We both went with rare roast beef, cheese and onions. T asked for his double-dipped in gravy. Yum! Short of five stars, but yum nonetheless. We ordered two unhealthy sides which added to the decadence of our lunch: corn fritters and onion rings. If you only get one, go with the fritters. The place is busy.
