It's sort of the one I visit if I'm on my way home from somewhere in PV and it's on the way. Or, I'm on the hunt for a Tippins pie and I feel like driving north instead of south since I'm sort of equal distance from this one and the Hen House in Leawood. All of that being said, I've visited this location several times over the years and I think it's a solid grocery store. I love how clean it is and that the lighting inside isn't SO bright. I feel like at some Price Choppers and Hy-Vees in the area it's like walking into a fluorescent warehouse and the thoughtful approach to the environment here makes for a more relaxing shopping experience. This particular Hen House tends to have a good selection of fresh produce, artisanal cheeses, a solid salad bar, and a great hot bar as well. I think the only real let down here is just that it's on the smaller side so the selection may not be as robust as in some other places and depending on when you visit it might feel crowded. Overall though, I usually enjoy shopping here. It's a Hen House so I think it has a reputation of being a bit pricier than say, Hy-Vee, but in recent years with inflation I find most area grocery stores to be about the same once you complete your shopping. Meaning maybe one item is cheaper at one place but something else might be cheaper here. I do think Hen House has the superior bakery though (hence the Tippins pies - if you know, you know).

Fine no biggie. The staff member who I addressed wanted to make excuses and did not want to make me the chopped salad. Making the other staff member who was helping another customer- Tell her she had to go help me. It was awkward. Then at the chop salad station she kept making comments. Like this was a huge imposition making this salad. At the end, she informed me there wasn't bread which is included and she gave me excuses as to why she couldn't go get me the bread from another part of the store. At this point I just wanted to get away from her so I said don't worry about the bread. The store itself is poorly laid out. They have large food displays in the middle of the larger aisles, making it challenging to navigate with carts. I also didn't see a ton of organic fruits and veggies which I found odd. I'm giving it two stars only because there was a nice staff member at self check out. There are way too many other henhouse locations and grocery stores in the area. I will not be returning.

They are always eager to help you. About two summers ago I was out front of their store eyeing a set of patio furniture. The manager just happened to be out there rearranging the last set they had left and asked if he could be of assistance. I asked him about the price and if he could work with me since summer was almost over. He realized I was an older woman and he wanted to help me so he gave me a nice discount... and since I lived so close to the store he delivered the set to my home personally. He didn't have to do that, and I was thankful. Today I was shopping in their aisles online phone app and was having difficulty getting through the process that I've completed numerous times over the years without issue. It kept changing the delivery times and kept kicking me out. I ended up having to phone the store, and I spoke with the service person at the Aisles Online desk. His name was Colton, if I recall correctly. I just want it known how very pleasant, helpful, and professional he was. He took care of my issues and walked me through the actual website order process - patiently... which I rarely use to shop with (I'm used to using the phone app). He took matters into his own hands and assured me they would shop my order personally and see to it that we had our groceries delivered expeditiously. He even told me he'd fix the extra delivery charge that was charged to me due to the app not functioning properly, and kept changing my delivery window 3 times! I was very impressed with this young man. I'd say he's a real asset to that Hyvee location. I'll assume he has to be a manager, and if not, he really should be!!! They've got a real gem in that young man, and hopefully they recognize that fact and have placed him where he's of the most benefit to their firm. I also use the pharmacy at this store as well, and have always had a pleasant experience with their representatives. No complaints! I believe your experience with people in the customer service field in general have everything to do with how you approach them for aid. I certainly couldn't do their jobs... not everyone possesses a spirit of kindness and understanding as second nature. But imagine what this world would be like if they did!!!

Prices seem high but not anymore than other stores that offer similar products and service. Food is just unbelievably high in July 2026. Maybe I'll look back in a few years and think it was inexpensive but I sure hope I'm making a lot more or I'll be barely eating. I love the different selection of products you can get at Sprouts and they are one of the only groceries in the Overland Park area that carries boars head products in their deli! There are so many things on clearance and I accidentally found there big clearance section by the bathroom. They had a bunch of non-alcoholic drinks for a great bargain. They had items for me and my wife that we have never seen before and we love visiting health food stores back home in Illinois. They even had Shirley Temple Poppi drinks! I've never seen such a thing before! Staff here was very warm and welcoming. If the item isn't on clearance and you have to pay full price , it can be a bit pricey. The restrooms here were very hot like you're inside of a sauna. I visited the Sprouts on the Missouri side but nothing compares to this location! Highly recommend

A loaf of Brioche bread was clearly marked at $5 on the display stand, but it rang up at $7 at checkout. When we questioned it, the clerk went back, took a photo of the display and explained that the sign was only meant to "draw attention" and was not actually the price for that bread. That explanation made little sense, especially since the bread on the display appeared to be the same product. My wife later called and spoke with the manager, Kelly, regarding what we viewed as false or misleading advertising. Unfortunately, the response was dismissive and unapologetic. Rather than acknowledging the confusion or offering to make it right, the pricing display was defended by claiming the marked price applied to bread on the other side of the stand. What concerns me most is how many customers likely never notice these discrepancies. We only caught it by chance, and I suspect many others simply pay the higher amount without realizing it. After being longtime loyal customers, this experience and the lack of accountability have caused us to reconsider shopping here. Leadership should be aware of how situations like this are handled because customer loyalty can disappear quickly when trust is lost.

The remarkable employees aside, the store itself is big, clean, and CHEAP. Currently as grocery prices are at an all time high, I shop at Aldi first. It only makes sense.
