Despite the parking lot being full I was seated quickly for my solo date out during dinner. The ambiance is comfortable lighting with a buzzing dinner crowd. Some people are dressed casual; some are definitely here on date night. I started with a Pellegrino which came chilled to the perfect temperature and I was given a cup sans ice (real cute), it would've been cutier in a chilled martini glass but I didn't ask either. I ordered the seafood chowder, this had more spice than I expected and was absolutely delicious a very balanced light silky soup. For dinner I had the shrimp scampi pizza, which had a phenomenal cheese pull and was pipping hot when it came out, no notes. Absolutely delicious. I had such a great experience at Cosimo's! The food was delicious from start to finish. The pasta was creamy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The calamari was crispy and fresh, and those waffle fries were SO good - super crunchy with great seasoning. We got 2 things to share: the Turkey Artichoke Sandwich and the Wild Mushroom Pizza. Both were fantastic and the service was amazing. The Turkey Artichoke Sandwich is more like a wrap/quesadilla, they make it with a tortilla. We got it with a side of Caesar Salad and it was a great lunch option. Usually go to the Newburgh restaurant however we came over here because they still have the broccoli rabe with sausage bowtie pasta option on the menu which isn't on the Newburgh one. This place definitely has a homier feel than the Newburgh restaurant. We were seated in the bar area which was really nice and comfortable, and the service was with us almost instantly. They have some really great bartenders and we were looked in on quite often during the appetizer portion of our meal and all through the entrees. The servings are quite massive to be honest so appetizers might be on the back burner or at least split one. Nice spot for a date night or just to meet with friends, especially in that back room off to the side. They have a couple of TVs on the wall to watch the games or you can sit at the bar as well. read more

The restaurant has a typical low-light, quiet background noise set-up with both tables and booths spanning two rooms. I came with a fairly large group (8 people) and were able to get seating on a weekday night without issue. I ordered the Spicy Chicken Fusilli and an Espresso Martini and loved both. Stopped here for a late dinner while driving upstate and I was surprised by how great everything was! Our server was super sweet and the ambiance was relaxed and family friendly. My 2 friends and I shared the CBO Burger, Grilled Chicken Pizza, and Ravioli con Mozzarella. Been here quite a few times and we've always enjoyed ourselves. Got a nice big menu with tons of options. White Clam Sauce is my go-to. But the chicken parm, spicy Chicken Fusilli, and the chicken francese all hit the spot too. Girlfriend loves the salads there. Good service, the place is clean. I only found out after we ate there that this is a chain restaurant, and so I'm glad I didn't let that have an impact on whether we would try it -- 'cause it was really good! They don't take reservations, but our group of 3 was seated right away, even on a Saturday night. The place was packed, and our table was in the bar, so it was a bit loud. But we weren't rushed at all by our wonderful server, whose name I wish I'd gotten! Although Cosimo's seems to be know for it's pizza, we ended up getting pasta and chicken dishes. We shared the crispy mozzarella to start, although we didn't see or taste the prosciutto that was supposed to be inside it. I had spaghetti Sicilian (eggplant, tomato sauce, mozzarella) and really enjoyed it. Light and flavorful. One person in our party got the chicken francese; also a light dish (it comes with pasta), and I thought perhaps too light. There was very little lemon flavor to it. The third person got the grilled chicken penne without the olives. We all tasted everyones; I thought the pesto was a bit bitter, but it still worked with the combination of other flavors. The bread and olive oil were all fabulous, and again, our server was super helpful. Even with a mix of reviews on what we had, we definitely plan to return, whether here or at another one of their locations. read more

Today, I ordered fried calamari, the wood fire margherita pizza, a Caesar salad, and the sun-dried tomato penne alla vodka. Among them, the penne alla vodka remains my favorite. The food all tasted well. Everything was properly salted. Pizzas were great. ORDER ALL THE PIZZAS & flatbreads, the ones at the next table looked good too! NOTE, calamari is drenched in sauce, you have to tell them earlier on if you don't want it smothered, it takes away from the crispy-ness. I asked right before they brought it out but the waiter was hesitant to ask the kitchen to remake it. He instead said they already cooked it. Then about 5 mins later he brought it out and when I asked again, He asked, "do I really want to send it back?" Because of his tone I kept it, which I truly regret. My waiter was polite but seemed like till he was going through the motions. The brussel sprouts were soggy (don't order) the meat balls were ok, good enough for my kids but nothing exciting. The rooms were divided up in the restaurant so it could easily be a nice place to host a small event. Omg the food is finger-licking good! We sadly skipped the appetizers and headed straight for the entrees. We ordered the Herb Baked Shrimp (with wild rice) and the Formaggi pizza. For drinks we ordered Pomango Twist () and the Cosimo Punch. The first bite of food was the pizza... and the first words were "oh my... so good." It was an explosion of flavor in my mouth. The herb shrimp was so savory and the kale was amazing!!!! We were stuffed with all the meals, we didn't even get to order dessert. However, we did order more meals to go. We had the Shrimp Risotto and the Woodfire Snapper. Both meals were great for a very late 'snack' and early meal, lol. Lastly, the service was awesome. The waitress, I believe her name was Julie (sorry if it isn't) was very friendly, kind, and patient. Do I recommend this place, umm YES. i just had the worst restaurant experience I have ever had due to the manager at the Cosimo's in Woodbury, on July 9th 2025. The manager refused to move my wife and I to a table that would was empty and 10 feet away from where we were sitting, which was practically in a hallway. We asked to be moved to an empty table that was just cleaned but in a quieter part of the restaurant, the host had to go ask the manager and came back to us telling us he said no. The customer service and lack of professional courtesy is the reason why I will not return, bring family or friends , and discourage others to go this restaurant. read more

We ordered the following for 2 to share: - Toscano Pear Salad ($14+) The salad was nice, with arugula, pear, pecorino toscano and prosecco vinaigrette. It had a little too much dressing for our taste, though, and we should have asked for it on the side. - Mozzarella Fresca Pizza ($16+) This wood fired pizza was underwhelming. Came here for a birthday celebration. Group of 7. We ordered the polenta appetizer which was really yummy. Most of the group ordered personal pizzas. One person ordered a pasta dish. The pizza was alright. I ordered the margarita pizza. The cheese didn't quite melt like fresh mozzarella melts. It made me wish I ordered the regular cheese pizza. We ordered two bottles of wine. First choice they didn't have or couldn't fin. Second bottle took a while to find and get brought to our table. Not the end of the world- certainly a 1st world problem. Our waitress was great. Really tried to make sure we were happy with everything. The things we didn't like weren't in controls so 5 stars for her. Initial reaction: Really cute restaurant I would go to with my family. The food: For appetizers we had calamari and HVCC Meatballs. The calamari had the right amount of crisp and was well seasoned. The HVCC appetizer meatballs were the only meatballs on the menu with no pork so I loved that they had this as an option. I'm not really a meatball person since it's usually made with pork but these were really juicy and flavorful! Definitely the highlight for both of us. I had the kale and beet salad with grilled chicken. I removed the pistachios and added red onions. It was filling and tasty. The grilled chicken was just really dry. So I didn't enjoy it as much. He had the steak salad which he described as hearty The steak was a little dry and the pancetta was really good but a little on the salty side. He swapped the lettuce for spinach which he said was a good choice. The fried onions were a nice touch. We got a side order of grilled vegetables and felt the same about it. Hands down the best place I've ever been to for delicious brick oven pizza. Their variety is decent, not too extravagant and definitely gives you the best bang for your buck. Try to order more than one pizza if you can...Nick's pie is our favorite so far. Their other food items like pastas are also a great classic favorite though it's definitely their pizzas that stand out the most. Save room for dessert cause the limoncello tartufo is one of the best things you'll ever enjoy.
