The hardest part of the experience was deciding what to order because the menu had so many great options. I ended up going with the classic Chicken Francese. It's not something I usually order since I normally like to try specials or different pasta dishes, but it was the perfect choice. We started with the fried calamari, and it was easily one of my favorite appetizers. If you're like me and love the tentacle pieces, you'll be happy because there were plenty! It was fried perfectly, and the marinara sauce had just the right amount of spice to give it an extra kick. To finish the meal, I ordered the tiramisu, and it was the perfect ending. It was moist, rich, and soaked just enough to give it that classic tiramisu flavor without being overpowering. Between the delicious food, the extensive menu, and the overall experience, Cosimo's is definitely a place I'll be coming back to. There are still so many dishes I want to try! read more

Delicious. The food is delicious. The ambience is amazing. And it was a great choice for a group dinner. We started out with a bunch of appetizers. Meatballs. Calamari. Potato wedges. And a few other things. Everyone got a chance to enjoy it all. Oh..... the bread with the Olives and Oil.... Chefs Kiss. So good. I brought some bread back to my hotel along with my leftovers. That's how good it is. For my entree I got the Spicy Chicken Fusilli. It comes with Fontina cheese which I got it kind of light. I really enjoyed my pasta. The right amount of spice. Perfect. Despite the parking lot being full I was seated quickly for my solo date out during dinner. The ambiance is comfortable lighting with a buzzing dinner crowd. Some people are dressed casual; some are definitely here on date night. I started with a Pellegrino which came chilled to the perfect temperature and I was given a cup sans ice (real cute), it would've been cutier in a chilled martini glass but I didn't ask either. I ordered the seafood chowder, this had more spice than I expected and was absolutely delicious a very balanced light silky soup. For dinner I had the shrimp scampi pizza, which had a phenomenal cheese pull and was pipping hot when it came out, no notes. Absolutely delicious. I had such a great experience at Cosimo's! The food was delicious from start to finish. The pasta was creamy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The calamari was crispy and fresh, and those waffle fries were SO good - super crunchy with great seasoning. The cocktails were amazing too, beautifully made and really tasty, especially the pear martini and the pink cocktail. Alert for All: Food Poisoning Risk: I would generally 100% avoid this establishment for anything beyond containerized beverages. Sun night my wife had the shrimp dish w/ kale + rice. We had scheduled an event at West Point for Mon, but she got sick at night and vommitted 2x in AM, and then health state improved markedly over the day. Mon events at USMA were ruled out, so primary purpose of the trip was never realized. In the moment, Sun night, my wife thought the shrimp and/or kale might be slightly off but attributed it to seasoning. My pizza was topped w/ uncooked diced tomato, and was substandard vs any 'Made in Italy' frozen pizza prepared in home oven...cardboard crust and Sysco vegetables. I wrote an email to Cosimos management and three hours later made an in-person visit. The on-duty Asst. Manager was dismissive out of hand, claimed it all a matter for the 'corporate office', and said it would normally take more than a day to respond to a report of food poisoning. It was a tone-deaf, brush-off effort, given that I had privately contacted the offices and showed in person to inform them of the issue. An uncaring, non-urgent, and quasi-contemptuous response to a rather serious matter. I am attaching a photo of the vommit which shows a linkage between contents of the 'meal' and my wife's sickness. I have lived a long life and understand something about food-induced illness and causation. Given the indifference of management and their cavalier attitude, I thought I should post this...and as a warning to anyone considering this establishment as a dining option. read more

The Turkey Artichoke Sandwich is more like a wrap/quesadilla, they make it with a tortilla. We got it with a side of Caesar Salad and it was a great lunch option. Usually go to the Newburgh restaurant however we came over here because they still have the broccoli rabe with sausage bowtie pasta option on the menu which isn't on the Newburgh one. This place definitely has a homier feel than the Newburgh restaurant. We were seated in the bar area which was really nice and comfortable, and the service was with us almost instantly. They have some really great bartenders and we were looked in on quite often during the appetizer portion of our meal and all through the entrees. The servings are quite massive to be honest so appetizers might be on the back burner or at least split one. Nice spot for a date night or just to meet with friends, especially in that back room off to the side. The restaurant has a typical low-light, quiet background noise set-up with both tables and booths spanning two rooms. I came with a fairly large group (8 people) and were able to get seating on a weekday night without issue. I ordered the Spicy Chicken Fusilli and an Espresso Martini and loved both. I only found out after we ate there that this is a chain restaurant, and so I'm glad I didn't let that have an impact on whether we would try it -- 'cause it was really good! They don't take reservations, but our group of 3 was seated right away, even on a Saturday night. The place was packed, and our table was in the bar, so it was a bit loud. But we weren't rushed at all by our wonderful server, whose name I wish I'd gotten! Although Cosimo's seems to be know for it's pizza, we ended up getting pasta and chicken dishes. We shared the crispy mozzarella to start, although we didn't see or taste the prosciutto that was supposed to be inside it. I had spaghetti Sicilian (eggplant, tomato sauce, mozzarella) and really enjoyed it. Light and flavorful. One person in our party got the chicken francese; also a light dish (it comes with pasta), and I thought perhaps too light. There was very little lemon flavor to it. The third person got the grilled chicken penne without the olives. We all tasted everyones; I thought the pesto was a bit bitter, but it still worked with the combination of other flavors. The bread and olive oil were all fabulous, and again, our server was super helpful. The food all tasted well. Everything was properly salted. Pizzas were great. ORDER ALL THE PIZZAS & flatbreads, the ones at the next table looked good too! NOTE, calamari is drenched in sauce, you have to tell them earlier on if you don't want it smothered, it takes away from the crispy-ness. I asked right before they brought it out but the waiter was hesitant to ask the kitchen to remake it. He instead said they already cooked it. Omg the food is finger-licking good! We sadly skipped the appetizers and headed straight for the entrees. We ordered the Herb Baked Shrimp (with wild rice) and the Formaggi pizza. For drinks we ordered Pomango Twist () and the Cosimo Punch. The first bite of food was the pizza... and the first words were "oh my... so good." It was an explosion of flavor in my mouth. The herb shrimp was so savory and the kale was amazing!!!! We were stuffed with all the meals, we didn't even get to order dessert. However, we did order more meals to go. We had the Shrimp Risotto and the Woodfire Snapper. Both meals were great for a very late 'snack' and early meal, lol. Lastly, the service was awesome. We ordered the following for 2 to share: - Toscano Pear Salad ($14+) The salad was nice, with arugula, pear, pecorino toscano and prosecco vinaigrette. It had a little too much dressing for our taste, though, and we should have asked for it on the side. - Mozzarella Fresca Pizza ($16+) This wood fired pizza was underwhelming. The ratio of the ingredients was unbalanced and the pizza completely fell apart as we were trying to eat it. The crust wasn't great, but perhaps, the Margherita would have been better. read more
