Beer prices are a little high, so I'd recommend coming during happy hour, but I loved all the brews I tried. This is a go-to salad & beer place for me, as I find their salads all to be reliably good. The other members in my party liked their food as well, which included the chicken quesadilla, french onion soup, and fries. NOTE: All fried items are cooked in beef tallow unless requested otherwise, and they must be gluten-free to be cooked in the gluten-free/vegan fryer. I've been here in the fall as well, when it was heavily decorated for Halloween, but it seems the normal ambience includes hanging plants and string lights, giving it an almost café feel. This was my second time trying this place. It's a very homey place with warm decor. They had lights up which was a nice touch. For appetizer we ordered the French onion soup and the mozzarella sticks. Both were very good. For entree we ordered the build your own burger and the mutt's chicken sandwich. Both were good. The ambience is getting ready for Halloween which is awesome - you can see a sneak peek so far - it's a funny cozy comfy place and comfort food on the menu ! If you don't want to eat in Woodbury it's right up the road not far. Drinks were on point and food was great. Service was cool very laid back but made sure to keep checking on our table. We were hungry hippos after shopping at the Woodbury Commons shopping center all day and an informative young gentleman (hello Anthony!) at the Tods store recommended this restaurant. Literally minutes away from the shopping center, this place was more like "Cheers" than a restaurant. Plenty of tables were available at 8:30 on a Saturday night, but the bar was full to capacity. Our server Justin was affable and knowledgeable about the menu. We quickly ordered the French onion soup, a black and blue burger (bacon and blue cheese) and a brisket burger. A house stout and a gingery cider accompanied our meal. Saturday night is also karaoke night here and some pretty talented folks performed their hearts out. Good food, good music, good vibes. I like the bar atmosphere and the employees, but there's no air conditioning, and it was extremely hot inside when I visited. It's hotter in this bar then it is outside. I honestly don't know how the employees manage to work in that heat--huge respect to them for staying friendly and helpful despite the uncomfortable conditions. The staff really are the highlight here--they're doing their best, but it's hard to enjoy the experience when you're sweating just standing still. Management seriously needs to invest in cooling the space. Customers are uncomfortable, and it's not fair to expect employees to work in that kind of heat. Don't even want to imagine the hit my liver took with all that BBQ sauce, cheese, and pulled pork toppings. All the burgers come with fries and will keep you full the whole day. The $19 Cowboy burger was superb--juicy, big patty with pulled pork, BBQ sauce and fried onions toppings, plus the traditional burger fixings of lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and pickles. The meat wasn't too bad on the sodium, which was appreciated. Ask for your fries to be less salty--you will enjoy them more. Sweet potato fries were delicate and a healthier alternative that did not compromise on taste. $19 Birdseye burger was equally delicious [for those who like an egg on top of their burger]. We were just passing through and needed to grab a bite to eat. I stumbled upon this spot on yelp. It had great reviews and the food looked delish. When we got there, it was mid day on a Saturday and the place was empty. We had the whole place to ourselves, which I didn't mind. They also decorated pretty over the top for the holidays but I didn't mind that either. In fact, it gave the place character. We started out with vegan, gf Mac and cheese balls. They were creamy and crunchy. They were vegan so they didn't taste like I'd expected but they were good anyways. Those were followed by a bomb burger, which was cooked perfectly and balanced all kinds of delicious flavors. The fries were also addicting. Overall we had a really good experience. The food was really tasty considering its a bar scene. It's also located in a small strip mall/plaza so it's easy to judge a book I'm by it's cover. But give this place a shot! read more

Another successful trip at one of our favorite local spots. I'd you haven't tried the food here please do yourself a favor and do it now. It's remarkable. The gluten free and vegan options are killer! Last night I tried out their GF chicken tenders (made in house and fried in a dedicated GF frier), with a gluten free bun to make myself a crispy chicken sandwich. Let's just say I was in HEAVEN. Been hearing good things about this restaurant so decided to try this for a meet up halfway of friends (living in Rockland and Orange counties). Thankfully we called ahead and made a reservation, it was Friday at 7. My husband and I arrived a few mins early and while we waited for the rest of the group to arrive, approximately 8 other parties walked in, making the place completely full, tables and bar! Needless to say the servers were overwhelmed. It worked out that we were not in a rush and we ordered much later since we spent a bunch of time catching up. The service was a little slow, but we understood they were slammed. The food was really good and we loved the food and beer selections as well as the specials. Cowboy nachos and burgers were good, pork tostada and chicken parm quesadillas were both great! We'd def come back, and hope that we pick a less busy time. This place is an incredibly well-kept secret. We met some friends here for an early dinner and my wife skeptically asked, " why are we eating dinner at a nail salon?" (it's in the same small plaza) This place has a fun and low-key vibe, and they went absolutely all out for Halloween decorating. The servers were incredibly attentive, especially to my kids and they were very quick to set us up with everything we needed. Food was outstanding! Their Schwing sauce is an incredible add to burgers and their Mac and cheese and I highly recommend this place for casual eats.
