    Foaming cleanser and face masks!
    Wei-San U.

I had the best time at cosmetic world. Jewel helped me find a pore cleanser and face masks. I just used both and they are amazing. Plus she was so helpful and knowledgeable. Love it here!

    All your beauty needs!

First of all, I'd like to compliment the cashier for being really nice and top notch customer service. Secondly, the music and vibes are amazing! I feel like a kid listening to this type of music. They literally have everything you need with regards to beauty products. I remember coming here 3-4 years ago when I lived in LA. Face masks range from $2-$12. I really like their purple Gatsby hair style thingy maboby. Highly recommend, both female workers (and probably boss) and the security guard are super respectful without judgement!

    After the test

Worst response and attitude ever. I went there around 4:30 yesterday, I asked them to recommend a toner, and she sprayed me with two products on my wrist. She introduced me to the product as being very mild and plant-based. Right after that, my wrists started to itch and red terribly, and I panicked and asked them what to do. They just stared, and at my request, they sprinkled alcohol. They just organize up the mask packs, and it seemed like they were waiting for me to leave quickly. At that time, there were three employees but very few customers. They said, "I don't have any medicine. This is the first time." And she continued to organize the mask packs. I understand so much that they can't give me medicine, but I was very very upset at their response and attitude. I don't know how good they have, but their response and service were the worst.

Dishonest store! Make sure to check your receipt before you leave the store. Mistake on my part, I didn't check my receipt until I was on the plane back to Norcal. I attached a picture of my receipt (they charged me $15 for something that was only supposed to be $12!).

Proof I spent some money here about a month ago

Don't go if you aren't white or Asian you won't get a welcoming vibe or some treatment Im Latina me and my boyfriend were followed around and stared at I love the products I chose to ignore it cuz I know how they be if you from LA you should be used to it tbh soon after I regretted my purchase as I saw how they were treating this white family right away got all the attention and recommendations and testers just made me really sad even while we were buying the lady at cashier looked mad and wasn't even trying to hide it I was planning on going and putting up with it but seeing as someone else had shared experience I think I'll add on.

After eating in one of the plazas in Korea town in L.A., I lost my wife and niece. They had just disappeared. I looked around, and then I saw it. Cosmetic World had caught their eye. Turns out my niece is a fan of the store so they dropped in. When I walked in to see how they were doing, I was greeted by a couple of the women with a smile and hello. The store itself looked organized and neat. My niece found exactly what she wanted, and my wife found a few things to purchase as well at a fair price. I have a feeling we will drop in again the next time we're in the neighborhood.

    allergy reaction from testers.

Never go to this place again. It was the worst experience I ever had. The workers recommend testers to my girlfriend, so she tried few testers on her arm, and this caused allergic reactions on her skin. She never had this reaction before by using other products, so this freaked me out. I asked the employee to give a first aid kit or anything that can reduce the reaction, but they kept saying we are not a hospital; we don't have anything. They just ignored us. After I asked few times, they spray alcohol on her arm and put aloe vera. It feels like they really don't care about their customers. We were so upset about the worker's attitude. Even after I came back home, I was so angry that my girlfriend was treated this way. This was a very unpleasant experience.

I happened to walk in and saw that Cosmetic World underwent a complete renewal - they have tons of Korean skincare and cosmetics that are hot and bestsellers in Korea! They also carry high-end brands such as Estee Lauder, SK-II, 3LAB, Darphin, Clinique, Origins, etc. with gift with purchase promos. It's become an equivalent to a K-beauty Sephora! I made a purchase and the advisors/salespersons were very courteous and helpful. Definitely give it a try!

Expired old products they are selling
    Cindy L.

I wish I could give this store a zero or negative star. Not only do they have HORRIBLE service but they sell expired products. I came here during noon today (oct 11,2020) to buy some face masks. I saw that they sold Dr. Jart mask $3 cheaper than sephora (sephora was $15) so bought myself one along with 2 other korean masks. I come home to find that the mask expired back in May, it is now OCTOBER, wth are they serious? I cant believe I wasted my money on a product I cant even use. I tried looking for the expiration date on the korean mask as well but none was posted on the package which I believe is expired as well because even the samples the lady gave me were all expired back in September. I tried calling the store to complain but all I get is their voicemail. Also, when I was shopping in the store 2 older employees (their were total 3 employees 2 older 1 younger) didnt even bother to help me even when I asked for their service. Instead they were busy talking in korean which I understood since Im korean and were complaining the whole time to each other about stuff that should not have been said in front of a customer. Do not waste your time or energy coming to this location. I cant believe I spent $39 on products I cant even use. I need to call the health department on them.

Maneki Neko also operates a sister concept store called CATCH Little Tokyo located on the third floor of Japanese Village Plaza. [Parking]: As long as there are no special events in Little Tokyo, the Aiso Parking Garage (101 Judge John Aiso St) is your best bet. [Selection]: The shop has transitioned from primarily selling traditional decor / ceramics / cosmetics (which the shop still carries but in a smaller section) to focusing mainly on plushies and blind boxes featuring IPs like Sanrio, Pokémon, and other Japanese anime. Even though an officially licensed Sanrio store is located next door, Maneki Neko still has an excellent selection of Sanrio items that you can't find at the next-door licensed Sanrio store. [Conclusion]: This is one of those shops where I can probably find a Sanrio plush that I am willing to buy as a gift. It is a perfect example of a thriving shop that has learned to adapt by keeping up with changing consumer tastes.

The shop itself is on the smaller side, but they really pack a lot into the space. They carry a little bit of everything from snacks and blind boxes to household items and stationery. There's also a huge selection of Sanrio and anime merchandise, so it's a great place to find cute collectibles or small gifts. Whether you're shopping for yourself or looking for something fun for someone else, chances are you'll walk out with something. The staff has always been friendly during my visits, and while the store can get pretty busy at times, the overall experience is still enjoyable. Prices are fairly decent for the area which is definitely a plus. If you happen to be in Little Tokyo and enjoy browsing cute or quirky shops, I'd definitely recommend stopping by--it's worth the visit!

Every time I come here I always end up spending a couple hundred for big hauls because I want everything haha, but prices aren't bad at all. This last time I got a free diffuser as a gift with purchase! They also suggested buying these Japanese cough drops since I was headed to a concert (which - good looking out! was absolutely needed and helpful). They even checked the ingredients in Japanese to make sure that I wouldn't have any allergic reactions which was so sweet! Service has been consistently great every time that I've visited here. This last time I went was super early on a weekday though, so wasn't busy at all. It was shortly after they opened because I happened to have an appointment in the area and needed some beauty products for a trip. They were great with answering all of my beauty questions! The only con may be parking when it's busy or later in the day. I've tried coming here at night before but struggled to find parking when the lot was full and there weren't any spots on the street nearby. So definitely try to plan to come earlier in the day/when it's less busy.

We were interested in stopping because it was our first time there and wanted to see it, however, we only had approximately one hour to explore. The shopping center wasn't too busy yet since it was so early, but also most all of the stores were closed as well. We did not get the complete experience of everything that this mall offers. A couple of bakeries were open when we visited and I am glad that we stopped! They allowed us to get some sweet treats and pastries, and they actually became one of the highlights of our trip to Little Tokyo! Although some of the stores weren't opened yet, it was great just to explore the area! All of the storefronts at the mall and surrounding Plaza were decorated for the holiday season. This brought an extra layer of charm to the shopping trip and helped create a cozy, festive ambiance! The quietness of the early morning hours created a amazing environment for us to walk through and enjoy our short little excursion to this beautiful shopping center! Although my visit was brief, I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I would love to go back again, but next time during afternoon or evening hours when all the shops are open so I can finally see everything the Little Tokyo Mall has to offer!

I've seen Anime Jungle evolve and take over the entirety of the underground mall area. RIP to Fairytale Boutique, Fickle Wish, Xenon, and the day and age where Anime Jungle had their own dedicated shop for visual kei and J-rock. Never forget what you've lost. Other businesses have come and gone, like the mochi ice cream place. If you ever get mochi ice cream at the supermarket, it's likely from them and the macaron place that I loved, but alas, tis the world we live in. Other than the Anime Jungle that I go to and Little Akihabara LA for their pop ups and events, I also go to Monkey Pants, sometimes I swing into the Sanrio shop (they usually do the character meet and greets here, if not at JapanLA or somewhere egregiously far), Tokyo Japanese Lifestyle (they got staff POSTED there due to the thefts I'm sure, but I've gotten my bearded dragon keychain here and now I have them in all sizes), Catch (located on the 3rd floor and is MASSIVE for blind boxes and other goods), Neko Stop (I've gotten better deals here than the location in the Santa Anita Mall), and I've stopped in the Nijiya when I've been trapped there to get snacks or some bottled tea. Love the bakery there and the meat buns that they have (despite prices constantly rising due to the capitalist hellscape we live in) and the cafe to get affordable savory dango and takoyaki. The okonomiyaki place is one of the best, if not only places to get okonomiyaki at a place dedicated to the dish. Once in awhile they do a collab with multiple restaurants, not just at the mall too, such as Silent Hill F, Reincarnated into a Slime, during AX, Arknights, etc. Really drives the crowds and businesses here which is nice. Parking at the structure is a bit pricy and can get super fisted with bad drivers though, so keep that in mind.
