Had a great time here. Im big into makeup but have not tried korean makeup yet. I had heard from social media that korean beauty spots hook it up with free gifts and products and wow do they ever. I wanted to try my first ever cushion foundation and they were so nice and patient helping me find a shade and how to insert the refills. I will say Asian beauty is known for skin care minimal makeup and very small shade ranges. Thankfully I found a cushion foundation however as a heads up the brand i chose only has about 4-5 shades so if u are any darker than light medium you will probably struggle to find a shade match and if you are used to American brands with 20-30 shades u will be in a culture shock. I also got a blush and an eye shadow pallete those are also lighter and apply lighter than American brands. They were so nice showing me all the products and explaining them to me as I am so used to American makeup which is very different from korean makeup. Also they load u up with full size samples. Since I spent more than $35 they gave me a full size korean face cream and a full size mascara as a gift. Korean skin care is supposed to be the best so im excited to try. The customer service was so helpful and friendly . However as stated if u are darker than light medium you are going to struggle finding foundation or blushes. read more

I enjoy this store as it has low prices and a great selection of Korean skincare products that have proved great for my skin. However, the micro aggressions I experienced while shopping today have dissuade me from returning to this establishment. Calling people 무서워 and commenting on their appearance is not okay regardless of the intention or purpose. I may be a different race than the store owners but that does not pivot me to discuss people's features. I had to prove heaven and earth beyond the email receipt that I paid and received for the developer. I had to take a picture of the wrong developer the packing slip of the items sent. Then when I shipped it back, I had to take a picture of my shipping receipt. The shipping receipt showed the correct item I had ordered and then I had to show a picture of the wrong item that was sent. When everything was sufficiently proven I asked them to resend me The correct developer instead of getting a refund on the wrong developer sent to avoid a shipping charge on the one item threshold. I purposely purchased several items initially to Gain free shipping. After all the effort I went through the solution would've been to send me the correct developer. I purchased and waive the shipping charge. I would avoid buying anything from this seller in the future since they are not customer satisfaction friendly, and probably a struggling business. read more

Worst response and attitude ever. I went there around 4:30 yesterday, I asked them to recommend a toner, and she sprayed me with two products on my wrist. She introduced me to the product as being very mild and plant-based. Right after that, my wrists started to itch and red terribly, and I panicked and asked them what to do. They just stared, and at my request, they sprinkled alcohol. They just organize up the mask packs, and it seemed like they were waiting for me to leave quickly. At that time, there were three employees but very few customers. They said, "I don't have any medicine. This is the first time." And she continued to organize the mask packs. I understand so much that they can't give me medicine, but I was very very upset at their response and attitude. The workers recommend testers to my girlfriend, so she tried few testers on her arm, and this caused allergic reactions on her skin. She never had this reaction before by using other products, so this freaked me out. I asked the employee to give a first aid kit or anything that can reduce the reaction, but they kept saying we are not a hospital; we don't have anything. They just ignored us. I forgot her name but I would recommend her for everyone if y'all have questions/help instead of the other lady cos that person is pretty rude and annoying honestly. I saw that they sold Dr. Jart mask $3 cheaper than sephora (sephora was $15) so bought myself one along with 2 other korean masks. I come home to find that the mask expired back in May, it is now OCTOBER, wth are they serious? I cant believe I wasted my money on a product I cant even use. I tried looking for the expiration date on the korean mask as well but none was posted on the package which I believe is expired as well because even the samples the lady gave me were all expired back in September. I tried calling the store to complain but all I get is their voicemail. Also, when I was shopping in the store 2 older employees (their were total 3 employees 2 older 1 younger) didnt even bother to help me even when I asked for their service. Incredibly rude employees. My girlfriend and I were not greeted upon entering the store. We were not replied to when we asked for help. One store employee in particular stared at us blankly, as if she didn't understand English (which I'm pretty sure she did) another one actually walked away while I was asking for help. It was only when I asked to speak to the manager, the three employees (yes there were three but none of them managed to help us.) told us in the most uncertain terms that they had no manager, and they couldnt help us because they had "a thing going on". One of my favorite beauty stores to splurge at. I come here often to stock up on skincare and makeup products. Generally, most Korean owned beauty stores have this awful, haughty attitude. If you're not well dressed, look beautiful with a full face of makeup, are older in age, or look like you have a lot of $$$ with your bajillion dollar handbag, the workers will literally pretend you're not even there. They won't bat an eyelash. Ladies who frequent Korean beauty stores... you know what I'm talking about. Cosmetic World in Madang Mall does not do that. And I SO APPRECIATE THE GOOD SERVICE. They have a great range of products and I love how the ladies here are so knowledgeable. I've purchased many products they've recommended and I've loved them all. They also have great deals several times in the year; I once went to purchase some skincare and left with more samples and free gifts than I could handle. Also sign up for their membership services; every time you purchase something, 10% of your total purchase is turned into points. Points = free dollars/credit to purchase more products. The moment we walked inside the two cashiers said " we close at 9:50" despite the fact that there were several other people in the store shopping. I was just looking for some affordable sheet masks, but I ended up scoring some other deals and discovering new brands and products! Location/Parking (5/5): Cosmetic World is located on the first floor of MaDang Courtyard on Western & Wilshire. Every time I go to Ktown, I park at this shopping center's parking structure because pretty much all of the stores will validate at least 2 hours of parking! There's so much to do within the plaza, too. Craving some Korean comfort food? There are plenty of restaurants that have got you covered. What about something sweet? Sul & Beans over SomiSomi any day. Need something from H-Mart or Daiso? Check - they have that too! Hell, you can even watch a Korean movie at the CGV Cinemas. Products & Prices (4/5): Cosmetic World has a variety of different Asian beauty brands, ranging from affordable (Tony Moly, Banila Co, Innisfree, etc) to high-end (Shiseido, SK-II, etc). There were also plenty of Korean products I had never seen or heard of, but I'm glad this store exposed me to them and allowed me to sample in-store! They even sell some Western brands like Origins, Clinique, Estée Lauder, etc. The prices also didn't deviate too much from the prices I've seen online or at Sephora. Service (5/5): I've been to Korean beauty stores where the workers will hover over your every move, for fear that you'll steal something. The workers here were friendly and helpful when I asked them questions, but they knew when to keep their distance. I found a gift set, and I was pleasantly surprised to find that I could also purchase the same product hand-wrapped in cute holiday wrapping paper! The neatly-wrapped box didn't cost extra, and it saved me so much time as I'm not that great at wrapping products myself. When I was purchasing my products at the register, I noticed a sign that offers a free sample when you write a Yelp review. I thought the sample would just be those tiny, single-use samples, but nope! They offered an entire Clinique makeup bag with five deluxe samples: Take the Day Off Makeup Remover for Lids & Lashes, Dramatically Different Moisture Lotion +, Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief, Chubby Stick Cheek Balm, High Impact Mascara, and Lipstick! I drove out from the valley to find a place like this. I thought my dreams had come true , I LOVE Korean skincare and other things Korean and I can't find a place like this in the valley. I was shopping with my two little girls, the oldest is SPECIAL NEEDS. I was looking for a toner and loving everything I saw. The woman helping me was very nice, she did try to lead me to expensive products which I'm sure are fantastic but I didn't want to spend more than $30 for a toner. She was accommodating. While I was with the sales woman I was trying to keep an eye on my girls and give attention to her at the same time, not easy. At the register I saw some really cute BTK hand lotion and I was going to buy it for my nieces. As I was looking at them my older daughter had looked at a lipstick tester and smashed it a bit, it wasn't ruined just a little smashed, (can be used for swatching). I didn't know she had done that but I heard another sales woman talking and when I looked in her direction she made a point to tell me what my child had done, I called my daughter over and asked her about it and she apologized to the woman (mind you my child is SPECIAL NEEDS). As the woman helping me is giving my total and I'm getting my MONEY out to pay I can her the woman still talking about it to another woman employee and I heard her repeat the word "sorry " in English. She STILL COMPLAINING about the lipstick. I got so angry and decided not to give this establishment my money, I informed the woman at the register I changed my mind and took my girls and left. It's SO SAD TO BE TREATED THAT WAY. Woman shop cosmetics and WOMEN SHOP WITH THEIR CHILDREN!!! I take good care to keep my girls near me when shopping but I know they enjoy the cosmetics store just as much as I do. I really like this place. I've been here several times. They have products that I haven't seen anywhere else. Their prices aren't bad. I really like the selection of sheet masks. However my most recent experience makes me never want to go back again. When we came into the store someone came up to us and asked if we were looking for something in particular. I asked if they had the innisfree sheet masks. They didn't but they said they had cleansers. I said ok and kept browsing. I was looking at other things in the store and every where I went the employee followed me. When I was still browsing she had the nerve to ask me if I was finished. And all I said was yeah maybe and she wouldn't stop following us. I felt like we were practically forced out of the store. I will say the girl that ACTUALLY checked us out was really nice.
