My partner and I picked up some skin care products here and the lady (presumably owner) helped us out and recommended certain things. I think it's funny that she tries to tell you what's on sale or on discount for the week as her sales ploy, but besides that part specifically, she was helpful in recommended certain combinations of items of certain requests. Prices are average for the area. It's not the best Korean skin care store in all of Koreatown, but certainly a good option for the immediate area. read more

They have a wide selection of great products. It is in a prime location and easy to visit. The sales rep or lady working the cashier made several comments about how dry my hair was and about my skin. I did not ask for this feedback and I did not appreciate it. I went in knowing what I wanted to buy. If you're trying to sell more products maybe try not making rude comments about potential customer appearance. read more

I have been a long time customer of Metro Palace Beauty; it's my favorite beauty shop in Los Angeles and I visit whenever I am in Ktown. I love the creams, shampoos, face washes, and cute bath products they carry. They have brands I love like Etude House, Banilaco, Dermalogica, and Missha. I am writing this review to personally thank the owner of MPB for texting me that they had masks, hand sanitizer, and disinfectant for sale during the COVID-19 crisis. I had been trying to find hand sanitizer for several weeks but was unable to locate any at Costco, Target, Amazon, etc. My family was also beginning to worry as our Clorox wipes stash (from before the crisis, you can't find them anymore) began to dwindle. I feel so relieved we were able to purchase more disinfectant from Metro Palace Beauty to wipe down things like groceries. Thank you for the free gifts- I had tears in my eyes when I saw the 2 masks you included in our package (which arrived a day after I made the order!). This was already a wonderful business but now I will always remember the kindness Metro Palace Beauty showed my family during the pandemic. The store was clean and had a surprising number of beauty brands. I saw innisfree, Goodal, Missha, Dr. Jart, etc. I stopped by and picked up a Tony Moly toner and peripera lippie and it had reasonable prices comparable to other beauty sites. Would come back again! read more

My bestie is big on skincare and convinced me to expand on my own regimen. She found Palace Beauty after some quick Googling (yes, that's now a verb), and off we went! I highly recommend Palace Beauty. It's clean, well lit, easy to navigate, and has a good variety of stock. The people who work there are also incredibly knowledgeable and take the time to look at you and recommend the best products for your skin type. (Also, like, the workers all have incredible skin, so of course I'm going to listen to them on what to do with mine!) Overall, I felt like I was in great hands, and they gave us a little collection of samples to take home and try too! They are the best! I need to go back ASAP. ~ As a side note for those with allergy concerns and new products, my bestie and I both have some allergies, so the workers allowed us both to test products as much as necessary and gave us time to hang out to ensure neither of us would suffer reactions. Don't be shy and stop by this store if you are around wilshire/vermont area. They have cute beauty products, some Korean toners, creams, anti-wrinkles, facial cleansers and masks. Also, i love the high luxury quality of European products, mostly french: Thalac, Caudalie. Mina helped me so much in finding the products I needed to complete my 10-Step Korean skincare! There are so many options to choose from so I was so glad she helped me in navigating through the endless sea of kawaii, tempting, and beneficial products. She literally persuaded me to buy all these products (first row of photo attached)She educated me on which products to use and stray from at my age, how to go about choosing which one (start off with hydration first then once skin is hydated and balanced u can dive into anti aging, acne-centered, etc products) got tons of samples (see photo, second and third row are samples!!!) You can find this place in the shopping center with Chipotle. Parking can be found on the side of the plaza where It says Visitors & Residents parking sign is located. 30 minutes grace period. I love their selection but PRICES ARE HIGH and they jack it up real good! If you're new to Kbeauty and want to get ripped off on prices, come here. I usually don't leave reviews like this but these people really are looking to rip people off, I'm almost pissed off by it. I purchased because I just got paid but looked on AMAZON where you can get good stuff for reasonable prices. I just went to this store tonight and I haven't used the products yet but I'm really excited to! ANES helped me out tremendously she looked at my skin and knew it was sensitive and needed hydration. We tried out different samples and she taught me about how the patting method is better than smearing it on. I left this place feeling really good because she wanted what was best for me and didn't try to sell me the most expensive things, but instead pulled out the package deal they had which was perfect because it's a big enough amount to know if it'll work for my skin. When I asked about the firming cream she said not to use it because my skin is still young, which was so nice of her because she obviously cares about other people's skin care needs. She also was so considerate when she actually numbered the bottles for me because I would've forgotten. She was also very generous with their free samples! I really had a pleasant experience here, as someone who is trying to find the right skincare routine 10/10 would recommend :) read more

Wowzers! What a deal! I needed my hair colored and cut but was not willing to pay the $70 quoted to me at super cuts. Enter yelp I searched for an academy with decent reviews and came across this gem!! For a cut, color and blow dry I was only charged $25 !!! And the job was fantastic. Here's the deal though, they are students BUT their instructor comes around every 10-15 minutes guiding them thoroughly and teaching them as they work on your hair. Cherice cut my hair. Super sweet and a true pleasure to meet. My hair was her first cut, but with the constant guidance of her great instructor Monica, she did a really good job! I love my hair! So if you are not paranoid about students experimenting with your hair and you have time (they will go slower bc they are barely learning) you can really snag yourself a GREAT deal!!!! read more

Stopped by for pore strips and a cleanser, came in open minded to try new brands since I need a change in my routine, and the girl who helped me was more than lovely! I returned to Palace Beauty Metro after coming here a year ago. I remember the sales people as really helpful without being pushy, and they gave me these amazing samples of Isa Knox products (Seed Collagen) that were really effective. I vowed to return, and today I did. The sales lady, whose name I never asked for (mea culpa), was very helpful, even numbering each product I bought in the Isa Knox set to ensure I used them in the proper order. She wasn't pushy at all, and just so sweet and kind, it makes me definitely want to return to buy my products here. Also, she gave me so many free samples! I find these samples not only helpful (to try out), but also so great for traveling with! read more

I've come here on 4 occasions when visiting LA, they have some of my favorite mask here, the coconut jelly mask that contour to your face perfectly. This place can get a little pricey. And once I ran out of mask, I found I could buy them online. The store does seem to up-price some products but it's nothing to double check amazon or google to see if you can get a better price. The store associates are always friendly and helpful when I go and give out lots of samples. I even found a skincare line for my husband that had good results on his oily skin. They are very conveniently located, they are in a plaza that is near the metro entrance and lots of apartments and airb&bs. read more

I love Palace Beauty. lol I know that's strange cuz I'm a guy, but honestly, when my lady friends need things I always take them here. I get %10 off since I am a resident in the complex, and the ladies that work there are incredibly friendly. Kimberly and Janis are the store managers and also my Noona's lol Anyway I've mostly seen 90% Korean women here "understandably since it's the heart of Ktown", and then the rest are mostly black women and actually I saw a few mexican and white women one time as well, but their selection is vast and nobody knows makeup like Koreans so trust you would be in good hands. I give Palace Beauty a 5 out of 5 stars read more

There are two amazing Korean ladies at this location. They always takes good care of me. They speak Korean and English. They know what is the best for your skincare needs. Ask for the Vitamin Serum (dbh). It is pricey but it is the best. There are other serums but they don't give you a full coverage. It is sticky when you first put on but it works. Can't complain! :) I wish they had Laneige and Missha products. But I love AHC and IASO products there. These two brands are underrated. I always come back to this location! My face is a testimonial for coming here over and over again! Taking care of one skincare is very important. Wear sunscreen everyday! All day! :) read more

I don't even know where to start except that I'm extremely pleased with my experience here. I'd been looking for some good Korean skincare products, but the one brand I had been searching for wasn't in any other cosmetic stores I'd been too. Palace Beauty has so many variety of beauty brands that I didn't even know where to start searching first. (For those who are fans of the USA cosmetic brand called NYX, they also sell those here too!) Fortunately, I didn't have to look around too long in the store because a helpful Asian lady came over to eagerly help me out. She was extremely helpful and chose the correct skincare products that would suit my skintype best. She definitely knew what she was doing, asking questions like my age to introduce me to skincare products for youthful chicks while also looking over my face to see what my skin needed most. She also gave me quick tutorials on how to apply the products, which ones to apply, etc. because I'm still a skincare newbie. In the end, I left the store with a completely different brand of skincare products I had been searching for but was definitely pleased with my purchases even though I blew a couple hundred in there. The quality of the items they sell is definitely great, but what really got me hooked was the great service. The lady was not just trying to sell the products to me, she seemed genuinely concerned for what my needs were. They are also VERY generous when giving out samples - I probably got about 30 samples along with my purchase. Plus it's right next to the entrance to the Wilshire+Vermont Red/Purple Line so it's so convenient to find your way there. I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE! read more

I've tried coming here at night before but struggled to find parking when the lot was full and there weren't any spots on the street nearby. So definitely try to plan to come earlier in the day/when it's less busy.

We were interested in stopping because it was our first time there and wanted to see it, however, we only had approximately one hour to explore. The shopping center wasn't too busy yet since it was so early, but also most all of the stores were closed as well. We did not get the complete experience of everything that this mall offers. A couple of bakeries were open when we visited and I am glad that we stopped! They allowed us to get some sweet treats and pastries, and they actually became one of the highlights of our trip to Little Tokyo! Although some of the stores weren't opened yet, it was great just to explore the area! All of the storefronts at the mall and surrounding Plaza were decorated for the holiday season. This brought an extra layer of charm to the shopping trip and helped create a cozy, festive ambiance! The quietness of the early morning hours created a amazing environment for us to walk through and enjoy our short little excursion to this beautiful shopping center! Although my visit was brief, I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I would love to go back again, but next time during afternoon or evening hours when all the shops are open so I can finally see everything the Little Tokyo Mall has to offer!

Other than the Anime Jungle that I go to and Little Akihabara LA for their pop ups and events, I also go to Monkey Pants, sometimes I swing into the Sanrio shop (they usually do the character meet and greets here, if not at JapanLA or somewhere egregiously far), Tokyo Japanese Lifestyle (they got staff POSTED there due to the thefts I'm sure, but I've gotten my bearded dragon keychain here and now I have them in all sizes), Catch (located on the 3rd floor and is MASSIVE for blind boxes and other goods), Neko Stop (I've gotten better deals here than the location in the Santa Anita Mall), and I've stopped in the Nijiya when I've been trapped there to get snacks or some bottled tea. Love the bakery there and the meat buns that they have (despite prices constantly rising due to the capitalist hellscape we live in) and the cafe to get affordable savory dango and takoyaki. The okonomiyaki place is one of the best, if not only places to get okonomiyaki at a place dedicated to the dish. Once in awhile they do a collab with multiple restaurants, not just at the mall too, such as Silent Hill F, Reincarnated into a Slime, during AX, Arknights, etc. Really drives the crowds and businesses here which is nice. Parking at the structure is a bit pricy and can get super fisted with bad drivers though, so keep that in mind.

Of course, I turned to Yelp for the scoop and zeroed in on Ms. Glen's Therapeutic Manicures & Pedicures. I finally got a chance to go see Ms. Glen and it was everything I wanted and more. It was relaxing (I fell asleep)! It was restorative! My feet felt and looked healthy and cared for. I didn't get polished which is great because I have been wanting to go natural for a while to let my nails breathe and focus on what's really happening with my toe nail health. So may things I loved (in no particular order): - Very communicative from the appointment (via phone) to the confirmation and directions (via text) - Ms. Glen greeted me at the door - The studio smells divine (really sets the tranquil mood) - The studio was intimate (just me - yay) - The space was very clean (I am a stickler for clean) - There was a complimentary water waiting on me - Ms. Glen has developed her own techniques and products which speaks to her dedication and specialization (I love people who are passionate about what they do!) - Every step of the treatment was appreciated! (very detailed, very attentive, think - pampering your feet from the in-depth massage to the parrafin to the soaks to the grooming and much much more) - I got socks! This was such a special and much needed last step that I never knew I needed. It made my feet more comfortable and protected after such a beautiful treatment. She even asked me my size. How's that for customer service! - Now this one may seem trivial but I never had to hold my feet up during the treatment unless I was transitioning from the bowl to a towel. I do not like having to do that while someone attends to the bottom of my feel or heels. Ms. Glen has it worked out where I can truly relax the whole time. I also left with one of Ms. Glen's therapeutic hand and foot oils in Lemon. She makes the oils herself! It smells so good and leaves a refreshing but not overpowering scent. It feels good oiling my feet every night. Like another reviewer said, this is not your run of the mill pedicure shop. This is a therapeutic service that is worth every penny. My goal is to make this a regular treatment. If my feet are healthy, I am healthier! Thanks Ms. Glen for such a wonderful experience! I'll be back. I had recently purchased a soap that helps with skin discoloration. It hasn't been making any improvement in the uneven skin tone and dark marks on my feet. Turns out I just needed an appointment with Ms. Glen. The exfoliation she provided literally rubbed away 15 years from my feet. My dry scratchy heels were left supple and smooth and the calloused areas were left soft. Had I known what I was in store for I would have taken before and after pictures. She even provided socks for me to leave in, to seal in the moisture. My favorite part hands down was the massage. She kneaded into these tired soles, and I needed that! I paid a little more than the price listed (which she does quote as a base price) but she also spent almost 2x the amount of time listed. My Fiancé noticed the difference in appearance and feel immediately. I intentionally waited until 24 hours+ had passed to write this review, wanting to see if my feet would feel just as nice. THEY DO!! Ms. Glen definitely puts pride in her work and I love how she checked in throughout the process to ensure I was satisfied along the way. I recommend her service to anyone looking to give their feet a more youthful feel and look. And if your feet have severe issues that might keep you from visiting open public salons, her private suite will help you feel comfortable and secure. Right before I left, Ms. Glen threw in a bottle of her therapeutic hand & foot oil once she saw how dry my hands were. I had discussed my upcoming nuptials with her and she wanted to make sure my hands moisturized properly for my big day, even providing a demonstration on proper application. Ms. Glen is a gem!

I was told the card on file couldn't be used for the service--only for late fees or no-shows--which made no sense. If the salon can charge the card for penalties, why not for the actual service being provided? This was especially frustrating because the appointment was a gift for a huge accomplishment of mine, from my mother, so of course I didn't have the physical card with me. On top of that I was also charged extra for nail length without warning, and billed twice for polish: $20 for gel color and $15 for French tip, even though I only received 1 design; french tip. When I asked for clarification, staff just pointed to the online pricing--but I booked in person to avoid that confusion. The experience felt misleading. I intentionally came in person to avoid confusion and relied on the staff to guide me accurately. Unfortunately, that did not happen. I would not recommend this salon to anyone. If you're considering booking here, I strongly suggest looking elsewhere for more transparent and customer-friendly service.

I understand that many of you probably won't put much weight on the horrible customer service I experienced, since it's mainly the products that you're interested in purchasing, SO let me make this point first: THEY SELL DAMAGED GOODS. While browsing the store, I noticed multiple skincare boxes that appeared dirty, stained, dented, or otherwise worn. I also saw haircare products with noticeable discoloration on the packaging, which naturally made me question how carefully the store handles and stores its inventory. So, please consider whether you want to spend money on a store that doesn't seem to care for the quality of their products as much, when you could walk 5 minutes up the street to Palace Beauty at the Galleria (where they have MORE variety...and PEOPLE WHO GENUINELY WANT TO ASSIST YOU:). Now, regarding customer service, the woman who I believe owns the store (you can see a photo of her in another review on this page) made what should have been a simple interaction incredibly unpleasant. Throughout my time in the store, I felt like I was being watched with a judgmental stare, and when I checked out, her demeanor came across as cold, dismissive, and unwelcoming. The following day, I returned to inquire about making a return or, at the very least, receiving store credit. I was immediately told that the store does not offer refunds. What made the situation even more frustrating was that the return policy was not printed on either copy of my receipt, and the only policy sign I could find in the store was largely hidden behind rows of skincare products, making it extremely difficult to notice before making a purchase. Rather than simply explaining the policy, she began meticulously inspecting each item, pointing out what she believed were imperfections and insisting that I had damaged them. She then looked at me and said, "How could I even sell these? Look, you damaged them." The entire interaction felt accusatory, hostile, and unnecessarily confrontational. I completely understand that businesses have the right to establish their own return policies. My disappointment isn't with the policy itself. It's with the way I was treated. There is a respectful way to communicate with customers, even when the answer is "no." Instead, I left feeling belittled, embarrassed, and as though I was being scolded simply for asking a reasonable question. Save yourself the frustration, save your time, and spend your money somewhere that values its customers just as much as the products it sells.
