While it was great to see only two empty storefronts, most businesses sell overpriced to super overpriced products to stay afloat. The mall is dated-looking, with a defunct water fountain, but the open second floor bathed in natural sunlight gives off soothing, chill vibes. The food court has about 9 places, mostly Korean but also a Vietnamese and Japanese katsu options. We ate fresh bi bim naeng myun (very chewy buckwheat noodles), ja jang myun (chewy noodles with black bean sauce and a nice amount of minced beef or pork), and fish cake on a skewer. Some places charge for a to go container and the cranky employee at the naeng myun place (the name's only in Korean, Kang San Myun Ok, refused to sell me to go in separate containers. Excuse me for wanting to separate the chewy noodles from the broth, as the noodles will lose elasticity from a long drive. The food court had many televisions broadcasting a World Cup match. There eating area is spacious with tables are cleared and wiped quickly. The outdoor dining are was closed the day we went. The supermarket is huge, organized and has the viral fruit-shaped ice cream that I adore, for $4.99 each. There's a Cake House bakery with mildly sweet Asian pastries and hot beverages. Their cakes are very expensive and beautiful. Cake slices are also sold. The mall has women's clothes, skin care, a bank, bookstore, children's toys, handbags and jewelry, and knick-knacks or collectibles. There's even a flower shop on a parking level right by the supermarket entrance. We were surprised to spend about 4 hours there. It's easy to spend a lot of time here as the parking is free! This area was nice with the high rise century city backdrop. Although it was more crowded than I expected, meeting friends for lunch was great. The restaurant choices are wonderful. We planned to eat at one spot, but due to the wait we changed it up and it was a total hit. Parking was crazy! Lines to go up and down, it took forever to pull in a spot. Shortly upon arrival, we figured out it's an outdoor shopping mall with an upscale mix of name brand stores, boutique shops, elevated restaurants, food court with quick bites/snack/drink vendors, and fun entertainment. Overall exterior was well cared for in terms of cleanliness and maintenance. It wasn't super busy nor crowded which is great sometimes because congestion of people traffic may make our dining and shopping experience a bit hard to handle. We got to see the Disney+ Hulu Throwbacks Mini Mall Pop Up showcased in the huge courtyard. It brought back some nostalgia. Neat retro activity! We hit the food court first since we were starving. We grabbed a little something from Tosai Sushi, Poukei, AC Barbeque, Fuwa Teriyaki Grill, O'Gusto, and Massis Kabob. A few were good, but not all. Check out my reviews for each one. Thanks! It's actually interesting to see a diverse crowd hang out here compared to back then when it was nothing but Korean people. The first floor retains most of the stores that existed back then too; Music Plaza which always had an insane selection of Korean music, the quaint coffee shop near the food court, the stationary store and bookstore near the elevator and of course the Food Court itself. Has the best prices of all sorts of Korean cuisine out there; I always gravitate towards the Dddukgook (Rice Cake Soup). The H-Mart used to be the mall's own market (called Plaza Market). I was a small kid back then, but it's quite congested as a grown adult over 6 foot tall. The layout is exactly the same from back then and I love it. There used to be a very tiny bakery next to the H-Mart on the left, but they have a much larger bakery on the right. The decor is still that same 80s-esque pink and teal tile, which I hope they never change. The second floor used to have this toy store that used to sell all sorts of Power Rangers and Pokemon toys. I miss it dearly, albeit I believe it was very overpriced back then lol. I believe it's the mail store now. The third floor used to have this appliance/electronics store called "ABC Plaza". It had literally everything from USA albums, Korean appliances, and a whole section for Japanese import games. As a kid it felt like paradise. I believe it's now turning into a gym, which is cool in itself. My wife bought me some Pokemon cards from that toy store near the food court, and it reactivated all my memories. That being said, ROW DTLA is a dreamscape when it comes to filming content and just catching city vibes in a safe space. Located near the Arts District this space of buildings used to be utilized for the textile industry. With multi floored buildings creating rows of foot traffic on the ground this space is perfect for events, pop ups, and get togethers. It's one of the reasons why Smorgasburg is held here on Sundays. It's why on any given weekend there may be an event being held, whether it be to celebrate AAPI month or the different creatives in the area. This space is filled with homegrown businesses and unique shops to visit. One of my favorite places is Hightide which is a Japanese stationary and supplies shop. The vibes are immaculate and walking in really feels like being in a store in Japan. Another popular space is Scent Bar for those who love perfume and are aromaphiles. With plenty of small curated artists being featured in this apothecary of aromas, Scent Bar is a nice stop whilst visiting the Row. If you're looking for interesting and discussion worthy furniture A+R is a must, located at one of the ends of the Row. For good coffee with artistic vibes you got to check out GGET (Go Get Em Tiger). Next to that if you're looking for stronger waters is Flask & Field with smaller batch and independent distilleries and crafters. All of this and the parking is free for the first 2 hours. In LA, that's unheard of! And it's a large parking structure with modern infrastructure. Blessed. With all this, hopefully ROW DTLA will continue to grow with more businesses and still retain its charm as time marches forward. Very clean, modern, spacious, and calming even with the crowds of people there. Felt like an oasis in LA. Though that comes with the price, seeing the businesses here. Yes they look nice but it's giving hoity toity performative LA folks vibe and I can see why rent to live in LA is so high. Alas those days are long gone and my grandpa can no longer drive, a bit sad and a bit nostalgic to look back on, I digress. It's a huge mall and I definitely prefer it over going to the Americana across the street (free parking here and such), but again, it's a huge mall that attracts all around, so parking can get quite busy, especially on the weekends, so keep that in mind. I like that there's an attached Target and lots of shopping and dining options. They have all of the franchises that you find at a standard mall and at a higher end mall too, so you get a good mix of both. There's an Apple Store, Beard Papa (not many of these left sadly), Bath and Body Works, Heytea, Hot Topic, Kura, Lacoste, Lush, Marugame Udon, Miniso, Molly Tea, Pop Mart, the Lego Store (I remember visiting this as a child), Uniqlo, Tokyo Life Style, etc. There's a markedly newer and lively part of the mall and when you go to the periphery, there's a strange mini floor on one of the top floors and the crowds start parsing through. It used to be the only mall where we could get some of these franchises and foods or we'd have to travel more into the OC, but now that the Santa Anita mall has almost every business that I would need, going to the Glendale Galleria is a once in awhile treat if we're already in the area.

On Sunday (6/14/2026) I went to Glendale Galleria with my mom and my brother…read more My mom bought some shoes and cosmetics, and I picked up both a Beef Kabob and a Chicken Kabob from Massis Kabob. After that, we all had dinner together at Kura Sushi. After dinner at Kura Sushi, I decided to pick up another kabob to go for my other brother at home. As I was walking back to Kura Sushi with the food, I passed by the restroom area near the food court and a kiosk that appeared to offer eyebrow tattooing services. A Hispanic female janitor was cleaning the area. My mom had called me and was asking me to come back quickly, so I was walking at a very fast pace with the takeout order in my hand. Suddenly, the female janitor jabbed me in the arm and started speaking angrily in Spanish. I couldn't understand a single word she was saying, and I was completely shocked by her behavior. I assume that because I was walking quickly to get back to my mom, I may not have noticed that she had placed a caution sign and was cleaning that section of the floor. Perhaps I accidentally walked through the area she was working on. Even so, I found it completely unacceptable for someone to jab me in the arm like that. To make matters worse, she kept speaking to me in Spanish, which I could not understand. I honestly thought her behavior was very inappropriate. I simply responded, "Please speak English and do not touch me, OK?" My mom was waiting for me and wanted to leave right away, so I didn't have time to continue the conversation and just walked away. However, the more I think about what happened that day, the more upset it makes me. I sincerely hope I never experience something this unpleasant again. Glendale Galleria should do a better job of training its employees on how to interact respectfully with customers.
