Dr. Hon treated my niece so horribly. She went here for cleaning and cavity care so she needed to have caps put on. During numbing, Dr. Hon did not wait for the anesthetics shots to kick in he just went right in to pulling her teeth. It was so rushed and he didn't even ask or check to make sure she felt numbing. After my niece was screaming her head off, we asked him to please take a break to let the anesthesia sit longer because she had more teeth to pull out. He angrily threw his tools down and stormed out of the room without saying a word. Don't know if he was having a bad day or judging us for how many cavities she had but she is only 6 years old. She was scheduled to come back to have her caps removed but this deterred us from ever coming back. read more

The dentist did a cleaning for 10 minutes (I literally timed him), )which I know, takes longer to clean teeth IF he did it properly. I've been bringing my daughter here for years but recently I took her to another dentist and was told she had a cavity. I decided to bring her back to Cosmic dental to get her cavity filled but Dr. Hon figured out that it wasn't even a cavity it was just the cement from the braces my daughter had. Extremely disappointed by the dentist behavior Dr. Patel with my grandson today. My daughter took my grandson to Cosmic Kids Dentistry and I was very disappointed by how the dentist treated him. My grandson is autistic and needs understanding and patience during appointments. Instead.the dentist was rude and dismissive, which made him very uncomfortable and anxious. Pediatric dentistry should be compassionate, especially when working with children who have special needs.Unfortunately this experience made us feel unwelcome and disrespected.Dr.Patel had so much discuss in his face. I hope the staff receives better training on how to treat all children with kindness and empathy.We will not be returning and cannot recommend this office based on our experience. read more

My three kids have been going here for about 4 years for my two older daughters and my youngest it'll be about 3 years. I can't believe it has been that long since we first started coming here for all of my kids dental needs. They have it all from cleanings to minor dental work like fillings to braces! The whole staff is amazing very professional and friendly and very accommodating. They work with you and your insurance to get you the most affordable and maximum coverage possible through your insurance. They even accept Medicaid. Dr. Hon and Dr. Kim (orthodontist) are the doctors my kids mainly see but if they aren't available they have I believe 5 other doctors who are equally qualified and they all have excellent bedside manners. From the receptionist to the dental techs and the doctors you will receive outstanding care and service! The office is always clean and they decorate the front according to holidays/ seasons and they even showcase all the pictures their patients color/ draw. They also have these star pillows which fit in with the whole cosmic theme. I highly recommend this place for all your little one's dental needs. They even try to do fun raffles during summertime for example they gave out two free tickets to Cowabunga Bay this past summer no appointment needed to join the raffle. Also Dr. Hon gives out his personal phone number in case parents have questions or need assistance with any dental emergencies that may arise. They definitely make you feel more like family instead of patients. read more

I was on the search for a pediatric dentist in Henderson that accepted Medicaid and I stumbled upon this office. They were able to get me an appointment the next day. They sent me a link to fill out my paperwork online so when I arrive I just had to sign two documents and I was called into the office. The office is located on Stephanie and Warm Springs and has plenty of parking. Dr. Hon was very informative and intriguing. He gives a general lesson oral health and then begins the cleaning. The office is basic could be a little more kid friendly colors and equipment/toys for the waiting room but overall a great experience. read more

Currently, for the meantime, I have silver Summit, which they except I looked it up on yelp, read the reviews and decided to take a chance. They had appointments for the very next day for my 2 toddlers . My appointment was at 2 o'clock and I waited for a couple of minutes outside as I was doing this. I was reading the yelp comments and I started to have second thoughts because the area had a couple homeless. There was a gas station and some homeless drinking outside in the back area in front of the dentist so definitely not the best but also not worst area . I wish they would've told me that I needed to change my insurance over for them to be a provider but that's OK. The call took about 10 minutes. I filled out the first time paperwork they verified insurance . They have a tv for kids to watch and some coloring paper and crayons .the staff was really nice and helpful they came took us to the back took some X-rays of my 4 year olds teeth and then the dentist came by (it is open space no individual rooms but we didn't mind . The doctor came out explained how teeth get cavities etc then took a look at my girls teeth and used fluoride when we were done the girls got a lollipop and a coin for the toy machine outside . They were happy and I didn't find him condescending in anyway which I read in previous reviews and I am not the type to deal with rude people they would have got 1 star so quick lol read more

The dentist and orthodontist here are amazing. It's the front desk staff I have an issue with. My oldest son got braces recommended which was definitely needed the way his front tooth was coming in, when it came to the end of his care my insurance had changed and the front office manager told me my new insurance would be accepted and no problem. I come in for braces removal and they tell me they do not accept my new insurance but they would proceed with removal and figure out billing afterwards as the manager was not in. Fast forward a few months, I get a letter in the mail stating I owe 500 when I already paid my 2000 portion after what insurance covered. I have called numerous times and no response. Plus the letters they are sending have the wrong information, my oldest is covered under my husband not his bio dad and they keep sending letters with my current husbands name with my ex husbands last name. Come to find out after looking for a new ortho since my son has a tooth growing behind his front teeth that was never notated from here ( he had multiple x rays done here ) THIS PLACE DOES TAKE MY NEW insurance and is trying to scam me out of 500!!!! read more

Really can't say enough good things about Dr. Hon. This was our first appointment and not only did he clean my little girl's teeth but he gave her some much-needed educational tips also. He made the information, regarding how and when are the best times to brush her teeth, fun and interactive. She is usually not a fan of the dentist however she said that he did a good job and she wanted to return. She is nine and full of opinions. Everything on the dental side of this office is great but when it comes to the orthodontic side, it's absolutely horrible. The front office never knows what's going on. The office manager looks lost half of the time. I'm speaking from experience. I have recommended Family and they are having the same issues when it comes to their billing department. I started my son orthodontia here when we first started. We only had one insurance mid treatment we ended up getting a dual insurance. They never ended up billing the insurance. It took them over a year to bill secondary insurance now it is too late because of the time of filing deadline Now that falls under myself as responsible party because they didn't know how to click a button do not start your ortho here there's other offices that will help you and make sure that your billing is done correctly. I am a office manager for a dental office myself, and this is completely unacceptable. I would never allow my patience to go through what I'm going through with this office. read more

I was recommended this office by a friend in the Las Vegas area when we were in town and had a dental emergency. My son's filling broke and he was having sensitivity while eating. Not wanting to ruin my son's vacation we tried to find a pediatric dentist to get us in and no one was able to but Dr Hon's office. They were very accommodating and welcoming. Dr Hon really put me at ease explaining treatment options, what to expect, and even took his time educating us. It was awesome Dr Hon was so quick he got on the silver cap with no shots and no drilling wow and he did magic tricks for my son! My daughter had her first dentist appointment ever yesterday. She got x-rays and a general check up and the doctor was so wonderful! The staff was nice and Dr. Hon was such a caring person and took his time with kid. She was a little nervous but she had no fears during or after the visit. Will definitely continue to come here. This Dr Hon is incredibly condescending. He fancies himself some sort of professor but comes off incredibly douchy. He needs to remember that everyone he deals with isn't an imbecile and he should always speak to ADULTS with respect. His office is old and falling apart, the stickers and posters that look like he kept from whoever owned that building before are tearing and unglued from the walls. I took my son here today on last minute notice. Like, very last minute notice. He was having pain and they were fully booked but found a spot to get him in and get him an exam. The waiting room did not have much for kids which kind of was a turn off since kids get antsy in waiting rooms, but the wait was maybe 5-10 minutes with new pt paperwork. Receptionist was very friendly and so was everyone I met. The dental hygienist was also kind and did not want to pressure my son into x rays so we waited for the exam, and come to find out he was able to spot the issues without one! The wait for Dr.hon was maybe 15 minutes, could've been shorter- everything feels like an eternity with a toddler. He was excellent. Surpassed every single worry I had for a new doctor. He quizzed me on what I knew about brushing, decay, bacteria in the mouth and helped me see why these things are extra important. ( which I knew, but the information I didn't know was nice and he broke it down into a way I understood ) For the exam he was patient, and thoroughly explained what was wrong with my sweet boy. He gave me ( and all his patients ) his phone number for any dental questions to text or call. I really appreciated this as other offices can hardly give you a call back at all. I can absolutely see why they are rated the highest in Henderson, and probably the greater Vegas area. I would travel several miles to see Dr.hon again and absolutely trust him to perform what he needs with care. read more

Was referred to this office by a friend. Scheduled this appointment over a week and a half ago. Come to the appointment waited over an hour for insurance verification. Primary insurance took longer and this is when I became annoyed shouldn't this be squared away before coming to the office? I feel like there was ample time for them to verify. I got an excuse about systems being down but my appointment was verified on a Thursday so I don't believe they couldn't verify prior to my upcoming appointment on a Monday. Front office definitely needs to step it up. It's hard to get through to the office as it is. I hate writing bad reviews. Just My kids were waiting in the lobby way too long on top of that the office is super cold just makes the waiting even worse. In a failed attempt to get me to return with my children I received multiple calls about scheduling a new appt. In which I ignored. Had my 3 year old lay down for her appointment just to tell me she needs a cap that can be done in 10 minutes yet he get up and go do another surgery after already having us sitting there 2 hours past our appointment time. Very inconsiderate and nobody seemed worried, why have her sit there to do everything else and then go and accommodate an entire surgery to have a Exeter 3 year old wait longer ??? Waiting area is outdated with trash (used up coloring sheets for kids to color) all over the table. No new coloring sheets for kids to color their own to make it kid friendly. Staff is very friendly. They spoke to my son with enthusiasm. Made the beginning of his dentist experience kid friendly. No individual rooms for the kids in the, I guess you could say where the procedures are done. Feels like you are out in the open with no privacy. Same goes for the x-ray machine. Read a comment from dr. Hon saying it's within guideline.. but what do we as parents know.. x-rays machines emit radiation right? Shouldn't it be viewed as being contained in area not visible to other patients? Since it was my sons first visit at Kids Cosmic Dental, Dr. Hon says that it's his philosophy to educate the parents. He educated us on how cavities are formed in a way that I felt was very condescending.. mind you, I did not attend dental school therefore I did not know answers to the questions he was asking us. He would ask questions hew knew we did not know the answer too. Little did I know, there were pop quizzes in between. Needless to say I did learn about cavities and how bacteria in your mouth poops acid that eat away your teeth. Dr. Hon was not kid friendly with my son who is 4 years old. He did not acknowledge my son throughout his procedure. It seems like Dr. Han was focusing on educating us as parents more than creating a welcoming, kid friendly environment. Before it was my sons turn to see Dr. Hon, we could hear him conversing with his other patients, asking them what they wanted to be when they grow up and such. With my son, the only words he muttered was "does this hurt". At the end, Dr. Hon explained to us that my son would need a procedure done to remove his bottom back tooth due to cavities. He then left the decision to us and made a comment about his patients are not his kids and we would have to make the decision on our own. For a delicate procedure done to my son to have his teeth removed in an extremely poor bed side manners was very disappointing. After all that was said, Dr.Han keeps his mouth shut and doesn't say another world to me or my son. NOTHING! We were escorted out by the staff who is very nice and actually talks to my son. Back at the waiting room, we receive a zip lock bag with my sons kiddy tooth brush which was used during his visit and a small travel size tooth paste. Overall positive experience with the staff, poor experience with Dr. Hon. For a kids dentist, shouldn't he have at least a tiny bit of a kid friendly attitude with all his patients? read more
