Well, it's a great option for when the weather stinks and you wanna play mini golf. The course is super crammed but what do you expect? It's in a mall (Sugarloaf Mills Mall). Parking was insane! I didn't realize people still went to the malls these days, because I try to avoid them at all costs. The course glows which is kind of cool. The course was a bit under the weather, and you can tell it's been around a while. The cost was $34 for my boyfriend, me, my daughter and her friend. I really didn't care for the ones with the ramps. Ugh! I bet my boyfriend, and lost because I BLEW UP on one of the holes, and got a ten. Yes, a TEN! He was so happy to finally beat me at something, so now I gotta pay up. At the end of the course, you can do this prize hole, and I actually got it, so I won a free game for one player. Too bad I'm not really sure we would come back here. I mean, it was okay and all, but the one outdoors we went to was a lot nicer and cheaper. The girl behind the counter didn't seem very happy to be there either. Well, I mean, if the weather's bad, this isn't a bad spot, but I'd rather look elsewhere for a better indoor venue.

My girlfriend & I decided to stop in here on a whim during our last visit to the Sugarloaf Mills mall. We visited on a late Monday afternoon and were the only ones in there for the first half of our game. The entire venue is glowing from the blacklights and neon decorations, which I thought was neat. There seems to be a dinosaur/animal kingdom/space alien theme throughout. $9 per person covers both the "easy" and "hard" course. The courses aren't the best quality as there is duct tape in several places and most of the arrows that point you to the next hole are faded. It was also a little warm when we went even though they had big fans blowing throughout. We still had a fun time though, and I think most people would as long as you don't have high expectations. It's worth checking out if you enjoy mini golf!

Lunar mini golf was very fun and my family had a good time. A big con is if anyone you know has heat problems or you do not like a little heat you might not like this place. There are a few fans but this spot still is very hot inside. Beside the heat the people are very friendly and you'll have a good time.

Simple good course, family friendly, would have been nice if beverages were aloud. No frills, just glow in the dark putt putt

I have to admit there was a part during the hard course that I found a tad challenging.

Birthday Party Review…read more This place is a hidden gem for a birthday party for a child between 4-8, maybe 9. So for the reviews about 12+ year olds, I think that is too old of an age for most activities. This place is by Kitchen wholesale places so you really would not know it existed. It is not far from Slingshots (aka old BJs Wholesale). When you enter it is just a front desk where you sign in and a party room to drop off your shoes and such. I was wondering WTF?!? Anyways, the staff pumps up the kids and gives each one a glow bracelet. The birthday kid gets a brightly colored tie dyed shirt. Then....they open the next door and BAM! You are entering a room of neon colored bounce houses, out of this world wallpaper lined walls from the ceiling to the floor, music (a little too loud) and a ton of things for the kids. They have soccer and basketball nets, they have a mini mini golf area (thus better for younger kids) and a ball shooting thing. These bounce houses for the cleanest ones I have ever seen. I don't think you can just walk in here like other places so you may need to call and find out the "free play". It was great because there were maybe 30 kids there, most with the party we were with. They have chairs for the parents to sit in which is also a perk. I know that they order in pizza for the parties, but we didn't stay long enough for that. Overall, super cool place off the beaten path.

We had a great time at Sugar Hill Golf Club. I'd heard mixed things about this place, from the…read morecourse was in bad shape to the course was in good shape. For us, the course was in good shape. I really enjoyed the layout, for the most part. To me, this is an ideal example of a solid, everyday muni. The course is located in the City of Sugar Hill, a suburb about 40 miles northeast of Atlanta in Gwinnett County. From my home in Midtown, I planned for about a 45 to 60 minute drive to and from the course. For this course, the drive was worth it. I wouldn't mind playing here again. I believe Sugar Hill Golf Club is a true municipal course, meaning it's owned and operated by the City. Off the top of my head, in metro Atlanta, I believe this may be one of the best munis if it continues to be maintained at the same level as when we played it. The tee boxes, fairways, and greens were all in fine condition. They were about as good as one can reasonably expect for a course in this price range. For a Saturday morning tee time with no discounts, we paid $57 per person for 18 holes including cart. Most other public courses in metro Atlanta charge more than that. I typically expect to spend $70-80 for a weekend morning round, 18 holes with cart, so Sugar Hill's $57 was a great value to me. You can book tee times online through Sugar Hill Golf Club's website. However, you have to pay a small fee upfront. At least, that was the case for me when I was looking for tee times. Sugar Hill used GolfNow for its online booking platform. GolfNow charges convenience fees and makes you prepay a small amount. To avoid this, I recommend calling the golf shop to book. That's what I did. I spoke with Audrey and she took care of me. At the golf shop, Mike checked me in. I noticed my receipt said "Non-Resident." On the course's website as of 5/16/2023, you can pay resident rates "with purchase of Resident Card." On a busy Saturday afternoon, the pace of play was fine. We had a foursome. Due to some morning backup, we teed off 10 minutes later than our assigned tee time. Not a big deal. We teed off at 12:00pm and were done by 4:50pm. Standard pace I'd say for a weekend round on a public course. We never felt slowed down nor did we hold up the group behind us. For our group, it was a comfortable pace. Sugar Hill Golf Club opened in 1992 and was designed by Willard Byrd and Nai Chung Chang, according to GolfNow. Byrd designed one of the courses I grew up playing and still play at frequently: Willow Creek at High Point Country Club in High Point, North Carolina. Byrd also designed the course at Atlanta Country Club in Marietta. Chang co-designed the courses at Ansley Golf Club in Midtown and Dunwoody Country Club. Like a lot of courses in north metro Atlanta, Sugar Hill's course is cut into a nice tract of land in the foothills of the North Georgia mountains. So, expect plenty of elevation changes. A lot of courses in the South, outside of Florida and the coast, are already fairly hilly. This course, even more so. The hills provide for some beautiful scenery and backdrops. Something else I like about this course are all the presumably man-made ponds. There are five scattered throughout the course, which really add to the views, not to mention shot selection. The course isn't super long, but it does provide a "full" 18-hole experience. From the tips (blue tees), the length is 6,522 yards with rating/slope of 71.6/140. We played one set of tees in (white) at 5,911 yards and 69.1/129 rating/slope. Based on slope and my experience here, I consider this course to be slightly above average in difficulty. Due to the water, a decent amount of bunkers (but not a whole lot), and a lot of undulations, you will face many shot scenarios with little room for error. There are several forced carries, off tees and to greens. There may be a couple instances where you hit a great drive only to encounter a side/down/uphill lie in the fairway, making for a challenging approach shot, especially if it's one of the aforementioned forced carries. All that said, it's part of the fun. The greens were big, smooth, and rolled true. The practice facilities are adequate. During our visit, the range was mats only. I guesstimate the range can accommodate up to 15 people. They have a Range Servant and you can pay at the machine. No need to go inside the golf shop just for range balls. There are separate practice greens for chipping and bunker shots, and putting. The practice bunker is a plus. There was a food and beverage cart on the course as well as a marshal. The carts we had were older and more worn Yamaha Fuel Injection carts (not electric). No GPS. The clubhouse is sizable, though the golf shop is small. There is a bar and grill with a deck that overlooks the practice putting green and into the foothills. I was excited to see what appeared to be an air blower to clean my golf shoes, located in between the clubhouse and range, but it didn't work, unfortunately.

This is only the second review I've ever left. We had a terrible time at this course. The…read moresprinklers were on almost half the course. We waited on the grounds keeper to cut the greens on almost every hole on the back 9 just to watch him turn the sprinklers on immediately after! The greens were just aerated so they were hard to put as it was. Crazy thing was the forecast called for rain the next 2 days. I will say that the superintendent was really nice and apologized multiple times and even offered a rain check to all 3 of us. He was really nice but the reason I'm leaving the review is because the guy a the pro shop was so rude. I just don't understand why he couldn't just show some gratitude. We tried talking to him and being nice but he was just not having it. It was our 1st time playing there and it left a terrible taste in our mouths. So the guy in the clubhouse, making us wait to tee off, sprinklers on the back 9 sort of threw off our timing. It's kind of sad though because the course seemed nice and challenging (and 10 mins from me house) but I'll never go back. I just can't get over the very 1st interaction of the guy working the clubhouse. It was a terrible way to start a fun day. How hard is it to smile and appreciate your business?
