We stopped at this rest area from making the drive through Death Valley, this place has clean bathrooms. They have parking for both autos and trucks, but the place is not really big like others. The Chevron station across the road is closed for renovations, it looks like they are building a new building and they still have charging stations there.

Shockingly nice and well-maintained rest area! It's got lots of picnic tables, trash bins, and trees. The bathrooms are relatively clean and well-maintained. Don't even mess with the gas station at this exit, it's terrible.

How much you wanna bet this is ignored?

This was a pleasant surprise on our trip up 395 returning home from Los Angeles. When I need to go I like to have a nice place to go. The rest area itself has a good amount of vegetation, but you might want to just "go" in the restroom. It's not a place to hang out for an hour or so, but it was clean, had some decent tables and some nice grassy areas that pets aren't supposed to go on. Another cool thing is at the same exit there is a convenience store, so instead of two stops to get the jobs done, you can pretty much make it almost one.

Hat's off to the State of California. If you're on HWY 395, which I've been enjoying since I was about 15, this is a great stop. The state keeps it clean, there are some great views, and it's accessibility make it easy to get back on the road. Thanks again to the good people of California.

Nice and clean rest stop, shady areas, some seating area too, plenty of trash cans, a few water fountains. Dog area, dogs not allowed on grass smh :( but other than that, great rest stop. And conveniently located next to gas station.

A great place to stop to stretch your legs, walk the dogs and make a pit stop. It is usually very clean when we stop in.

These go all the way north to Mono Lake, east to Death Valley, and other fascinating areas. There's a giant 3D map of the dramatic mountain ranges and valleys, that puts everything into much clearer context. There's a staffed information desk, and a well-stocked gift shop with all manner of National Park and nature gear. I was able to pick up a Mt Whitney edition from my favorite brand of outdoor-proof maps! My favorite part is the huge viewing alcove on the west end of the building. It frames Mt Whitney and the other stunning peaks in the area, and illustrates which peak is which, to get your bearings. It's a wonderful spot to sit indoors out of the heat (my visit was at the end of June) but still enjoy a beautiful view of the the Eastern Sierras. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. I even got good local lunch advice. The grounds include lovely trees and fields, large and clean restrooms, and a native plant interpretive garden. If you're in the area and are curious to learn more about the stunning scenery all around you, this visitor center is definitely worth a stop.

Myself, we tend to stop for a restroom break and a quick snack. The place itself is somewhat a tourist trap as it is there off the freeway. They have two restroom I believe, one upstairs and another sets in the back. Maybe there's another set just off where McDonald's is, maybe. Inside has a few quick fast food places with McDonald's being the main place. You have subway, Wetzels, a Chinese place which sometimes they're open and another fast food spot across from them. Besides the food stall, it's houses small shops. Basically trinkets and stuff. a candy store and a liquor store. It's a place where you walk through and browse the stuff on the shelves. Candy store is cash only btw. Outside has a few other places for food but if you're wanting something quick, this place maybe it. A stop that's worth just checking out. Not much things you would want to purchase as it's a bunch of trinkets and random stuff.

I brought my friends here on a Sunday early evening and it was their first time stopping here. It wasn't overly crowded and had just enough people to not feel cramped inside. This spot is right next to Popeyes as well, and the McDonalds area inside has plenty of tables to seat at. The McDonalds area used to be just a rustic old train feel so seeing it refreshed and with families and kids using it makes the 'station' feel more lively. There's some on-the-go souvenirs that tourists can buy if they happen to need something from one of the many vendors. The Thrifty's ice cream was pretty yummy, although we found it to be on the pricier side for just a scoop so beware! Upon entering, you can smell the strong scents of Subway. Only thing to look out for is that when we went back to our cars, we looked over and saw what looked to be a homeless person exiting out of the metal container on the corner of the parking lot. We got worried seeing the guy walking out towards an oblivious lady packing her babies in the car with her driver door left wide open. Please be cautious everyone!!! Luckily, some staff from the train station was heading over to throw away trash and the guy just minded his business.
