I totally forgot that I've been to this restaurant but it was years ago. I recently saw a social media influencer I follow post about it and she loved it so I decided to go the next day. My daughter and I had dinner here on a Friday evening. It is a small restaurant and it was quite popular with many large parties already seated. We were taken to a both. The waitress was attentive. The prices were reasonable. For some reason whenever I go to a Mexican restaurant I have to order fajitas as my main entree and this time was no different. I had steak and scallops. They don't have this combo on the menu but they accommodated me. The entrees we ordered were good. However, stay far far away from the chargrill oyster appetizer with cheese. No ma'am no sir not good. It looked like baked milk on top of an oyster and it tasted even worse than that sounds. Never order any food that is not a restaurant's specialty.

My favorite neighborhood spot! My family and I love whole fish! So when we found Costa Azul we fell in love. We come here often! We love the ceviche that is given prior to receiving your meals. We also love the large portions they serve. Most restaurants tease you with the playing and portion size. Not here! Please take a look at the photos! Wonderful customer service, cute ethnic decor, drink options and more! Costa Azul is a great place for lunch dinner and a late night drink. Located right next to a popular hookah lounge it can get loud but we don't mind the music! There. Is always a manger walking around. Which we enjoy. We really appreciate the hospitality and the family like feeling we get when we come here. Must try!!! All items we've tried here are delicious

Opened on March 1, 2022, this restaurant is owned by the same people who own Mexico Restaurants in White Plains, MD and Huntingtown, MD. Two average restaurants that have captive audiences because they have no competition. I know the areas and I've eaten at both. This place has their ideas of Mexican seafood. My wife and I have had great chef made Mexican seafood dishes at other places. This place falls short in many ways. We tried 5 dishes. They give you tortilla chips, two salsas, and a ceviche dip when you dine-in. The ceviche had minced tilapia, red onions, diced tomatoes, cilantro, and carrots in salt water. That's right, salt water and natural flavors from the ingredients. My wife liked it. I thought it needed seasoning. The salsas had lime juice, chile peppers, salt, and a touch of vinegar. One had jalapeños and the other had red cayenne pepper. They were hot, too tangy, needed sugar for balance, and had few flavors. They were some of the worst salsas we have ever had. The chips were typical. 1) Mendigo Especial A soup with octopus, shrimp, onions, celery, and green peppers in a seafood broth. It came in a schooner glass with 3 large cooked shrimp hanging on the side. The shrimp had shells that were hard to peel and were not deveined. They were a waste. The broth had flavors of lime juice, onion, garlic, seafood, jalapeño pepper, tomatoes, and salt. It was hot and flavorful but unbalanced. It needed some sweetness to balance the lime, salt, and pepper. The shrimp and onions were good in taste and texture. However, the octopus, celery, and green peppers were so mushy that they were slimey. It was gross. The soup was different, but once was enough. 2) Pasta Costa Azul Fettuccine, shrimp, and mussel in a cream sauce. It came with 2 pieces of pan-fried bread. The sauce tasted like a slightly spicy alfredo sauce without cheese. It had a buttery cream flavor with a hint of black pepper. Everything was cooked well. This was okay, but not special. I'd rather have alfredo sauce because it has more flavor. The bread was soft on the inside and fried crispy on the outside. It had moderate flavors of garlic and butter. 3) Filete de Pescado Tilapia filet cooked in Sinaloa sauce. It came with french fries, rice, a slice of tomato, and a slice of cucumber. The Sinaloa sauce had onions, mild cayenne peppers, garlic, salt, and black pepper. It was mildly hot and VERY salty. The fish was soaked in sauce. The fish filet had no bones. It was light, tender, moist, and well cooked. The fries were seasoned and crispy. The rice had a few peas, corn, and carrots. It had a hint of sweetness and saltiness. The vegetables were fresh. With less salt, this dish would be okay. You get a choice of 8 sauces. Don't pick Sinaloa. 4) Filete a la Crema Tilapia filet topped with shrimp, octopus, imitation crab, bell peppers, and creamy mushroom sauce. Served with rice, french fries, a slice of cucumber, and a slice of tomato. There were 6 medium-size shrimp, lots of imitation crab, and some slices of soft octopus. The shrimp tasted fine. The crab was shaped like thin flat noodles in 0.75-inch squares. It had a typical flavor of fish with crab extract. The octopus had no flavor. The sauce had a light mushroom and milk flavor with seasoning. It was nothing special. The fish was the same as above, which was good. The rice, fries, and vegetables were the same as above. The octopus and fake crab were not worth eating. Otherwise, this dish was okay. 5) Flan The flan was mildly sweet with mild flavors of egg yolk, vanilla, and milk. It was creamy, smooth, and slightly dense. There was whipped cream and a maraschino cherry on top with sweet caramel sauce at the bottom. We enjoyed it. It was the highlight of the meal because the rest had problems. The service was excellent, and everyone was polite, helpful, and responsive. The dining room and restrooms were clean. They have unisex restrooms with lockable doors. There was a bar with 10 seats. They are located in Berkley Square shopping center and the parking lot is free. There was nothing special or outstanding in a good way. They have a variety of ceviche and steak dishes. Who goes to a seafood restaurant for steak? I don't advise people to eat raw seafood for health reasons. So, there's not much for me to recommend other than the service.

It's Cinco da Mayo! Some friends and I stopped by for great food and margaritas. This restaurant has an extensive menu of delicious Mexican cuisine. We started our meal with frozen peach and mango margaritas. Our waitress gave us complimentary chips and ceviche which was tasty. For entrees I ordered 3 soft tacos. I ordered one each grilled shrimp, grilled fish and steak. All were well seasoned and filling. This inside is somewhat small with plenty of seating.

This is a small, neighborhood but mighty restaurant with an amazing Mexican seafood menu. The Food is amazing; the flavors explode in your mouth and the drinks are fun and strong. The place is not big or fancy but the food and service is the best and it's budget friendly. The servers are great and fun! If you like seafood and Mexican food and don't mind the place not being fancy; then this is definitely the best find. You'll thank me later

I love a server who doesn't hover but always checks to see if everything is going well. She def rocked! I have been so excited to get on and share how incredible this place is since we left. My husband asked if I wanted to go back, within the week. This is *UNHEARD* of. I don't know if he has ever loved a restaurant so quickly and so MUCH. He's been craving seafood boils for a few days now, so he suggested we go this afternoon. We went around 3-4pm. The crowd was minimal, but still, there were probably 15-20 tables full. It's a nice sized restaurant , about the size of a "pub"/local dive bar. The hostess was really welcoming (no eye rolling or impatience!!). She greeted us with a smile and a kind gesture and promptly sat us in a booth. The entire restaurant was clean, whimsical and smelled like old bay and garlic. Great art and seafood accoutrements all over the walls and booths The music was 2000s R&B and couldn't have been more perfect. Our server was incredible. We were given two very easy to understand menus and a "basket" of popcorn! It tasted like movie theater popcorn , our cups which were paper cups and a paper table cloth which lent to the "crab house" vibe we love so much, "seafood sauce" (mayo based siracha sauce think, with old bay? - it's like a spiced Big Mac sauce), clarified butter, cocktail sauce, gloves, a garbage pail, crab cracker tools and plastic silverware, and wet wipes and bibs (which I used because of course I visited in a white shirt!) After no more than a 10-15 minute wait, we had our boils "Rocked and Tossed" right to the table!! Seasoning 100% covered everything!! We ordered: Freshly brewed, 1/2&1/2 sweet/unsweetened tea. (It was very reminiscent of Chick-Fil-A tea/McDonald's tea...the good kind!) Not overly iced. So delicious!! Husband: 1 combo boil with snow crab legs, sausage and extra corn, (comes with corn and potatoes), garlic seasoning and medium heat. His garlic sauce smelled to die for. Very well rounded, (I tasted it). It had sliced garlic in it and wasn't too salty at all. The medium heat wasn't too hot, but don't take my word for it, get the heat level you like. His crab legs pulled *perfectly*. The sausage was wonderfully Smokey with that crispy/crunchy edge. The corn was tender and juicy, not overly cooked and the potatoes melted like butter. Me: 1 combo boil with snow crabs and crawfish and added hard boiled eggs (also comes with corn and potatoes), "Rocking Bomb" seasoning (old bay, garlic, lemon pepper, Cajun). *I have never had crawfish THIS good in my entire life.* I genuinely cannot describe the euphoria I had with words, but I'll try. They weren't muddy/fishy. They absorbed the flavors so well, yet preserved the firm but tender texture of the meat. They were very easy to break into, just like the crab legs. Nothing got stuck or jammed. The eggs were a balanced addition, soaking up all that awesome flavor. I ate one half way through and the second at the end. Again, nothing was abnormally fishy. Seafood can, at times, taste a little too oceanic. Everything came out piping hot, but not so hot you couldn't tear right into it. Both boils were nice and buttery. We tried using the gloves but ended up tossing them. They have sinks right in the open so it is easy to get up and wash up if you get too messy. (The bathrooms are on the smaller side - with the women being two stalls, and I didn't see any others, so the extra sinks really come in handy). There was a very kind gentleman bussing tables. He was fast and thorough. He was very pleasant to us as we walked by him. Very courteous!!! If I could give this place 10 stars, I would. Literally nothing was bad. I cannot wait to go back and hope they stay in business for a millennia to come. I believe we found THE best seafood boil restaurant in all of Maryland!!

As I started to eat, I noticed I only received 1 cluster and a 2 tiny loose legs in the bag. When I brought it to the server's attention, the manager came over and tried to tell me that the 2 small loose legs counted as a second cluster. Instead of acknowledging the mistake and making it right, she went back and forth with me in front of my 6-year-old child while attempting to put her finger in my bag to count the 2 little loose legs out to me. I've been coming here for over a year, and I have never received 1 cluster and a 2 tiny legs that would count as a full pound. A full pound should come with 2 full clusters. The customer service and professionalism during this situation were very disappointing. I usually never complain but I felt this was much needed. Unfortunately, this experience has made me decide not to return. Rock and Toss just lost a loyal customer. Don't come here unless you want to get less than what you paid for!

The space itself is huge and they do a lot of hosting for bands which I'm sure is a good time. The inside is lowly lit and the music was great, definitely a vibe in there and I can understand how despite their reviews they have a solid patron base. We ordered: Strawberry Lemon Drop - 10/10 no notes Calamari - 8/10 - great texture but a small portion at that price point. I prefer mine with a remoulade and they only serve it with sweet chili sauce. They had remoulade with the catfish nuggets but when I asked the waitress she said remoulade was the salad. When I tried to explain that no it was a sauce she just said they didn't have it......ok. Deviled eggs with crab - 8/10 - they were ok. The eggs were a little overcooked to my liking but they were horrible. Wings - 10/10 - sweet and spicy, great crunch. Crabbed stuffed salmon - 6/10 - came with two sides and he got rice and spinach. It was just ok but at $42 you wanted it to wow you. There is an automatic 18% gratuity regardless your party size so that's something to look out for. Overall it was a bit overpriced to my liking for a location that's not more like a local bar than anything. I would definitely come back for more wings and Backyard but might opt for the bar instead.

The food and drink pairings were creative, flavorful, and beautifully presented throughout the night. My favorite courses were definitely the earlier ones, especially the shrimp stack and cocktails. The atmosphere felt fun and social, and overall the event felt worth the price. There were only two things I personally was not a fan of: the sea bass and the Espresso-Chino cocktail. The sea bass just wasn't for me, and unfortunately two of my friends got sick after eating it, one that same night and the other the next day after reheating leftovers. I only had a small bite myself because I didn't really enjoy the taste. The Espresso-Chino was also very strong, and I couldn't finish it. Even with those issues, I would definitely come back for another pairing dinner or special event. It's definitely giving cabaret venue vibes (IYKYK), so I really wasn't sure what to expect. But this whole experience was a delightfully pleasant surprise. Our server Kamaria was absolutely wonderful. She has such amazing energy and we felt so welcomed. She recommended some of her favorite items from the a la carte menu, then invited us to proceed to the buffet. We decided to get an order each of the honey butter biscuits a la carte and now I got questions. I just want to know whose grandmother they have back there in that kitchen making them biscuits like that. Because those were some of THE best damn biscuits I've ever had. Easily the best biscuits I've had in the DMV. They were huge! Fluffy and chewy with a generous glazing of that absolutely divine honey butter. If you get nothing else from here, you NEED those biscuits. The buffet didn't look like it had much going on but again, looks are deceiving in this place. There were so many delicious options to choose from. Scrambled eggs, fried potatoes, bacon (both pork and turkey), shrimp and grits, chicken alfredo, jerk chicken wings, fried chicken wings, peach cobbler, sweet potatoes and a few other things I can't remember. If you didn't find anything you liked on this buffet, you were either vegan or just not hungry forreal. Every single thing that we ate was delicious. The jerk wings were perfectly cooked and had a nice kick to em. The fried wings were fried perfectly: crispy but not too hard, and seasoned just right. The chicken alfredo was probably my favorite. I don't think this place did anything particularly innovative or special with it, it was just delicious and well made. The sweet potatoes and peach cobbler were good but both could have used just a little bit more sweetening. I absolutely loved the shrimp and grits! Those grits were thick and creamy and the shrimp and sauce had a nice Cajun flare: a little kick and a whole lot of flavor. I'm not a pork eater so I was delighted at the turkey bacon. It was the thick cut bacon too! None of them skinny, scrawny strips. Oh, and of course there were bottomless mimosas. Kamaria made sure that our glasses stayed full. This spot offers three different kinds of juice for the mimosa: orange, pineapple, and I think the last one is cranberry. We both got the pineapple and we were not disappointed. There's also a DJ at brunch. He definitely helped set a vibe but what I really appreciate it is that the music wasn't too loud so we could enjoy it but still enjoy our conversation as well. This is easily my new favorite brunch spot. Good vibes, great food, bottomless drinks, no reservations... And no driving around the block dozens of times looking for a parking space. What more could a girl ask for?
