Could have been better, we did appreciate our server letting us know she would be gone a while due to a large party. This was the only downside of our visit. While she was away maybe another team member, manager could have assisted. The beer was hot. They did not have any cold glasses, which to me is a little odd. I love beer with my seafood. I have been here before but I can say after my last visit I definitely won't be back. I say a review below mines saying how unprofessional and chaotic it is and I must agree. I am not sure if they are under new management or what but the entire experience from checking in to the server to the people cleaning it was just all a complete mess. I am not ever sure why the people were sweeping so hard and slinging chairs around that dirt was flying up im my food. Why are you sweeping in the direction people are eating. I asked the waiter three different times if we could at least put in a drink order, and every single time I got brushed off with "one second." Finally, after telling them we were just going to leave, they suddenly decided to take our order. And it's not like the place was slammed -- it wasn't. In fact, people who sat down a good 15+ minutes after us already had their food while we were still waiting just to order. Love this place- ambiance is great. Great for large crowds as I often see big parties when I visit. The latest visit was awesome due to our waitress Dee. She was pleasant and was patient with us. My partner had a problem with his drink and she took care of it- no question asked. I appreciate her and the manager on staff. Red Flags from the Start From the moment we arrived, the experience was questionable. Despite plenty of open seats, we were told there was an hour-long wait due to staff calling out. A busy Friday night with inadequate staffing? That should have been my cue to leave. After waiting about 30 minutes, we were finally seated--only to sit for another 10-15 minutes before anyone even acknowledged us for water. Our server, instead of attending to guests, was socializing at another booth. The Initial Turnaround... or So I Thought Once we got our server's attention, we ordered drinks and appetizers. The appetizers arrived hot and delicious, and for a moment, I thought the restaurant was redeeming itself. That feeling didn't last long. Unprofessional Staff Behavior Here's where things spiraled: 1. Servers were sitting and chatting with customers as if they were their friends. 2. Staff were openly drinking and taking shots while on the clock. I literally watched one server call another over, yelling, "Hurry up, it's time to take a shot!" 3. Service was nonexistent. Our server disappeared for long periods, only showing up after multiple shots at the bar to take our entrée order. While waiting for our food, we also witnessed two young women about to fight, with security stepping in only after letting them argue for five minutes. The Food Was Good, But the Service Was a Disaster When the food finally arrived, it was hot, correct, and honestly quite tasty. Drinks were also well-made. She had a rude and dismissive attitude the entire evening and took so long to come check on us, get refills, get our checks., etc. we weren't able to leave until after 10pm. She acted like we were an inconvenience and seemed annoyed to service us. We kept having to wave her down. It got to the point where a member of our party had to get up and head towards the back to flag her down. Even other patrons seemed annoyed and were looking around for their server. This location, comparing it to the Brandywine location was so much better! There is a huge tv in the front - at the time a movie was playing. Maybe karaoke is offered some days throughout the week (I'm unsure about this), but mom and I loved this spot. We went on a Saturday afternoon, was served by Que and she was great. Giving us food recommendations, drink options, her requests, etc. Loved her. For those that frequent seafood spots like these, Crafty Crab no longer offers the wings with the everything sauce, if this all makes sense. Boom sauce, I think it's called. I really wanted a seafood bag so I came here with my family. From the time we set down it was bad. The waitress took forever to come over just to say she will be with us soon. When she finally came she took our drinks, appetizers and kids food. My husband and I ordered a little after. The waitress was NOT attentive or detailed. My moms drink sat on the bar for way too long. My mom had to point it out and tell the waitress "that's my drink". Then when I ordered I asked for no sausage because I don't eat pork, I told her that. I asked for it to be on the side for my husband and I wanted to add eggs to mine. After waiting forever my husband went to the bar and asked the bartender if he had his beer order and he said no, there was no ticket for a beer.? This happened TWICE. So my husband just started ordering at the bar and coming back to the table. Then when my food finally came out IT WAS WRONG! They had the pork sausage in my bag and NO eggs. She took it back and brought out the new one , again wrong! Still no egg, she just ended up bringing the eggs separately. We asked for extra sauce 3 times and never received it. My mom asked for the key lime pie and never received it. We paid the bill and I think that's when the waiter realized she never put in the pie so she gave it to my mom for free. The tables in her section were all annoyed with her performance. (I know because we talked bout it amongst ourselves). The table next to ours ended up following our lead and placing their drink order at the bar once they waited over 20 mins. Food was good... but the service completely ruined it. Lunch out with one of my good Sister Friends who I hadn't seen in awhile. We arrived when they opened at 12 noon so it was not crowded and we were seated right away. The restaurant had soft music playing in the background and because there was no crowd, it was the perfect place to chat and catch up. I ordered water and a Long Island Iced Tea. Yep. it is 5 o'clock somewhere. I opted to get the seafood boil with shrimp(headless of course!), clams and mussels. Potatoes and corn are included also(Here we go with the carbs). I picked the crafty Cajun seasoning with old bay and medium spice. The medium spice was a little more to medium to me but everything was very good and well-seasoned. The waitress was very attentive and patient because we took a long time to order as we were laughing and talking. I spent $300 on a delivery order,the only thing I was missing was a snow crab seafood boil with extra corn and eggs added on to it. She says they have to remake it and it will take about 15 to 20 minutes which is fine 30 minutes goes by and I get my food but its only the corn and eggs. I tell her again I didn't get the snow crab boil, the whole thing is missing.she tells her coworker that the manager said they are not going to remake the whole order and I can only get the eggs and corn even though they were the ones who didn't put it in the bag. The young lady that spoke with me on the phone then tried to say the driver took the food even though she told me that they had it and forgot to put it in the bag. I asked to speak to a manager and another employee stepped in, gave me a refund so she can reorder my food for me. The crab boil took 10 minutes meanwhile the eggs and corn took 30 to remake. The only person who actually did their job was the young lady who reordered my food for me.The place was empty when I came up there, people were on their personal phones at the counter and there is no reason why my food wasn't in the bag when its that slow. A very nice spot for fast and good seafood in the Waldorf area. I have only been once, but when I visited I had the fried shrimp basket (will most def order again - the shrimp was nice and crispy and the fries reminded me of Arby's curly fries just without the curl). I also got an order of hush puppies and ugh they were so good! I would've loved to have had a honey butter to go with them instead of melted butter but the melted butter served it's purpose. Oh, and the hush puppies have corn in them. Inside the restaurant is super spacious. No need to worry about social distancing from the next table here. I plan to order again very, very soon probably for take out. This spot was my go to. Emphasize "WAS". I'm relatively easy going with the understanding that there is no such thing as perfect service . However, I visited this establishment on Nov 14, 2025 around 4:30 pm. The female bartender on duty that night was the rudest, most ignorant, and absolutely unprofessional person I've ever experienced in the service industry as she was ready for a confrontation. When attempting to convey my drink order, I was rudely cut off following other unprovoked rude comments. As I got up to leave she continued talking loudly, mocking me as my back was turned heading for the exit. I have never been so offended and absolutely refuse to spend one dime of my hard earned money at an establishment that tolerates this behavior. She was clearly trying to get a reaction from me and wanted to garner attention from the other people sitting at the bar. Management - if you want your business to remain open and thrive, please vet your workers better. P.S. this was not the first time this has happened w/ this particular bartender. Thank you to Crafty Crab for coming to the dorf. So do to the current situation I haven't experienced the inside of this place yet. However outstanding workarounds to still provide great food. Its good to have a place to get an amazing broil closer than VA or DC. All the food was great. If you've had a boil before you understand when I say yummy. Toss your favorite catch in and add the crafty cajun seasoning. If you want to step it up next level go for the "the boom", mixing all the seasoning (cajun, buttery garlic and lemon pepper). If you've a fried food try the tilapia, shrimp, crab cake, with a side of hush puppies. Wish you could add scallops to my boils, but you can order them to go along with your meal. I was so happy to hear that there's a new seafood boil/Cajun cuisine spot in town. My brother and I had been craving it for months, so we ordered the crawfish boil with "the boom" seasoning (crafty cajun, buttery garlic and lemon pepper mixed together) and medium spice. The crawfish were large and juicy, and the sauce was delectable. Highly recommend! We also added sausage to our boil. I wish they had more potatoes and corn inside the bag though. We also ordered a fried oyster basket with a side of hush puppies from the menu. It was alright. Had company from out of town and they wanted crabs. The food was nasty and the staff were rude.

Woke up Sunday morning and was craving seafood, so was everyone else. After my morning jog, it was later in the morning so it was time to eat lunch (I normally skip breakfast). It was suggested we go to the Crafty Crab and we had a coupon. Walking in, the interior was nice and the staff welcomed us. The music was a bit too loud and this kinda annoyed me. I don't have music blasting in my house while eating, why would I want this at a restaurant? Our waitress was very good. And this is where everything goes downhill. I ordered the shrimp boil which tasted fine but I guess I was just renting the food. By the time we drove home, it all came up. I was driving the porcelain bus all day and night, ruining my Sunday. The only reason we came to a chain like this was the other local seafood places all had bands scheduled and sometimes, I'd like a quiet meal. Not only was the place too loud, it was like eating in a club, I got horribly sick from the food. I never get sick. I've eaten MRE's in the desert for 3+ months and this place takes me down in one meal. Oh, and I wasn't the only one in my house to get sick, let me make that clear. The health department needs to shut this place down if people are getting food poisoning eating here. I was hoping to find a new place that was close to home without driving south on 301 but I guess the longer drive is worth it compared to spending 8+ hours tossing my cookies in the bathroom. If you're looking to lose weight after eating a meal, this place is for you! You'll be throwing up and dropping weight in no time like my family was.
