I have nothing but great things to say about Costa Mesa Ceramics. This year, I wanted to pick up a few new hobbies with ceramics being one of them. I signed up for the 6 week wheel throwing course and it has been a pleasant experience. My teacher, Theresa, is knowledgeable and informative. She teaches us the basic techniques and listens to our concerns with wheel throwing. She offers great feedback and help when needed. The class is roughly about 8 people and we all have so much fun together. The studio is clean, well kept, and has lots of natural lighting. Everyone is respectful of each other and the space. What more can you want? Once my 6 week course is over, I plan on signing up for a membership. If you're looking for a great studio to start up a new hobby, I would highly recommend Costa Mesa Ceramics Studio!

The wheel class was very interesting and informative. It's beginner friendly and you get to create a small art piece. For this new year, if you're looking for a new hobby, CM Ceramics Studios is the place to start. The instructor goes step by step and helps you during the spinning process. Overall, I felt welcomed and I learned a lot of new things.

The spread for Wine Night! It was generous and so nicely prepared.

I can't say enough nice things about this place. Last night was the first time we ever tried pottery. And it was SO fun! We decided our intro to the ceramic arts would be at the Wine Night event. Along with tasty snacks and generous amounts of alcohol, you get an intro to both hand building and wheel throwing. For only $90/person, it's well worth the price! The instructors, Teresa and Hannah were both so encouraging and patient, despite the fact that I ended up wearing most of the clay and he needed a second batch (disaster! LOL). And the studio itself is bright and airy thanks to an open garage wall. There are displays of student work and items for sale, and they are all so pretty :) We had a great time, and I'm looking forward to joining the next 6 week session of wheel throwing and becoming a member.

Discovered this place via Google and Yelp search for pottery classes. My son's been going to clay class since first grade at another art studio and have advanced his technical skills. So I wanted him to try wheel throwing class. Signed him up for a 1 week summer camp here and he really enjoyed learning wheel throwing! This place is clean, spacious, open space in the back. The staffs are friendly. I'm looking forward to them offering more youth wheel throwing class for camps and after school! If time permits, I would like to sign up for myself and try the class.

Such a great experience! Super fun and I learned a lot! The studio itself is super neat and you can see everyone's creations on the shelves. The class itself consisted of 6 people and an instructor, we waited about 15 minutes for the remaining 2 people that never showed. The session was supposed to be 6-7:30pm, but we ended up leaving closer to 8pm. It was a super informative process and would highly recommend! Excited to see the finished result in a couples of weeks. They offer membership for those who do pottery as a hobby, it seems like a great community! Would definitely sign up for another class, either solo or with more friends. Again, a really fun and great experience.

I decided to take a pottery class on a whim and now I think I'm hooked! I signed up for their beginners pottery class on Friday evening. Make sure to register early because there's only 6 spots and a lot of them will say sold out. I thought the price was pretty good for a 1.5 hour session. Parking was easy here and I was greeted as soon as I walked in. You can see all the amazing creations they've made and I felt like soon that would be my creation (haha wishful thinking since it was my first time). Theresa our instructor was sweet and a great instructor. Since the class size is so small she was able to come around and help. Throwing on the wheel was so much fun, I successfully created two little bowls. When you're finished you can pick which color glaze you want for your project because the team will complete it for you. I can't wait to come back in a couple of weeks to see my finished project

Luke was an amazing instructor, I would definitely come back and recommend to all my friends and family. I did not expect it to be as challenging as it was but it was definitely a fun and memorable experience.

When do they usually post the new classes on their online registration? Been trying to book a class series but they always seem sold out!

Hey Kimber! We are a super small studio so our classes do tend to fill up fairly quickly. We typically post our one-off wheel-throwing classes to our site the first week of the month prior. For instance I have just posted the November batch of…

For their Lesson for their "Private Lesson for 2 for $100) this is in fact for two people correct? During the check out process it only required acknowledgement to their terms of service so just wanted to be sure since the class runs for 2 hours.

We came during the week around midday, so parking was easy to find, but if you're coming on a weekend or in the evening, I'd recommend arriving early since parking is limited. Our instructor, Sage, was incredibly friendly and helpful, guiding us through the entire pottery-making process and making it feel approachable even for beginners. We made two pieces total--one hand-built and one thrown on the wheel--which was really fun and exciting to try. The whole experience was creative, relaxing, and unique. I would definitely recommend this class and will be suggesting it to friends and family!

My wife got out of the car and was at the door inside that window. They wouldn't let her in without me, and I was still parking. I walked in 11 minutes after the start -- one minute past their cutoff. There were maybe four to six people in the room. I explained the family situation involving my son. I told them it was our anniversary. My wife was distraught, and I pleaded with them and tried to reason with them. They turned us away anyway. We weren't asking anyone to slow the class down or stay late -- we would have caught up on our own. My wife left humiliated on the day she had planned as a gift. I get it -- you have to run a business, and you have to start on time. But she was there inside the window you gave us and you wouldn't seat her. It came down to one minute and two people standing in front of you, and you chose the minute. The class started without us. So did the last impression I'll have of this place.

Karen also helped coordinate a beautiful charcuterie spread, and her wine selections were excellent. It was clear that a great deal of thought went into every detail of the event.
