8:45pm on a Friday. Ordered a veggie burrito and asked for the fajita veggies. They were all out of veggies so they made it a bean and cheese burrito, but still charged full price. It was completely cold inside so I asked them to run it through their conveyor oven again. The assistant started to, but then her coworker stopped her. He said they couldn't do it but that they would remake it for me. I told them I just wanted it warmed up, but he refused. Pretty disappointed. I wont come back to this location. read more

We went here after eating at Cafe Rio a week prior. We actually tried eating at Costa Vida that time but they were closed as it was Sunday, even though Google said they were open. Food wasn't nearly as good as Cafe Rio. Portion sizes were way smaller on their tacos (definitely not worth the money). Chips were bland. Staff was rude. I left here saying I wouldn't go back. Also at Cafe Rio you get free quesadillas for your kids, they didn't have that here. read more

The food was ok but I ordered a sweet pork salad and it had mostly black beans and lettuce. There was only a very little bit of meat and maybe a teaspoon of rice. I have eaten there before when it was a little better. Not a place I would recommend. read more

If I could give them zero stars I would. I unfortunately have to go to costa vida when cafe rio is too busy. Every single time I go in the workers look miserable like they hate their job and sigh when I place an order and they have to make it. Every time I order something with chicken they have the biggest chunks of chicken ever. Like literally a full 8 oz breast per piece. Who the hell wants a burrito or salad with massive chunks of chicken breast? Why can't you do shredded chicken like every other single Mexican restaurant in the world? Honestly ridiculous. And if you ask them to make the chicken smaller or cut it or shred it they say they can't. Lmao. Worst "Mexican" restaurant ever. Rather go anywhere else. Shred the damn chicken! Literally so skimpy on portions and this time we went through the drive thru what a mistake. 20 minutes in a drive thru is too much.

Apparently they are under new mgmt. Food is much better now, the place is cleaner and the folks behind the counter are faster than they were before. We had almost given up on this place. In the past our orders were never done right and the workers didn't seem to know what they were doing. I recommend the steak burrito covetded with everything, my wife lives the grilled chicken salad. My husband and I go here regularly and have always had great service and great food. We go on Fridays for their daily special of sweet pork nachos which are so dang good! They even come around to the tables sometimes and make sure that everything was good. read more

This place is a lot like Cafe Rio, but with better nachos.

The major downside about Costa is they are SO slow. Standing in line at a semi fast food restaurant for 25 minutes is not how I want to spend my lunch hour. I had one of the worst experiences ever here. Staff seemed short tempered and like they hated being there. The girl helping us was so rude that the people in line behind us looked shocked. This is my favorite place. I love the food. I didn't like at this location that they asked if I wanted my lettuce and pico on the side of my burrito. Who eats this seperate from their burrito? Young staff could not handle the night. Bad food, poor management (sorry, little man, Between myself and my children's families we average 2 to 3 times per week, I know how the food should be), couldn't get a mop or towel for a glass of pop running all over the floor, Kids quesadillas cooked beyond cracker status, we were told they would get them redone when they could! Then after the retuned meals have set on their counter for a good while they bring the same cold over cooked meals back. I was much happier when Bajio's was in this spot, nonetheless, we've still tried to patronize Costa Vida, but each time, I've been so disappointed. Here's an overview of our take-out order last night: Shrimp tacos--the shrimp were merely defrosted and rolled in melted butter--no grill flavor, seasonings, etc. Even my husband, who has a low bar, was not impressed. And they don't even include a cool mango or pico filling like other places offer with fish/shrimp tacos (on a related note, avoid their corn tortillas--they taste very starchy and freezer dried). Enchiladas: We got both sweet pork and chicken and both were satisfactory. Nothing special, but it's hard to mess up an enchilada so long as the sauce is yummy, and Costa Vida's red and green sauces are fine in my book. Chips and bean dip. The beans are just a container of their refried beans. We tried to make it a little more interesting by stirring in some salsa, but their red salsa is completely dominated by the flavor of lemon juice--honestly, one of the worst salsas I've ever had at a restaurant. Chicken Mango Salad: Good grilled chicken, though a few parts were burnt. Unfortunately, the dressing I had requested when I placed our order was forgotten (sorry, but a salad without dressing is not appetizing to me!) In sum, pretty sub-par, with no enticing flavors to their food. Cafe Rio is a much better bet if you're going to go this route (though I'm not a big fan of them either). When craving Mexican food, I think you're better off at joints like Agave Grill or Cafe Sabor, or for take-out, grab an order of Puerta Vallarta's chips and salsa (their salsa is my favorite!) or swing by Morenitas if you want some quick and tasty tacos. read more

Good food but the worst hospitality I've ever seen. I called to place a to go order and the phone rang for a few minutes with no answer then someone picked up the phone and hung it up without saying anything. I called back and the phone stang for a few more minutes before someone answered. I placed my order and when I went to pick it up I asked were the phone was, maybe no one herd it, and the girl told me that the phone was by the register but they could answer it because they had a long line. read more

Store# 127 MOD: Madeline After a stressful statistics class tonight, a classmate and I, decided to go get food. She convinced me to go to Kneaders. I have never been there but wasn't feeling it because I have had Panera four times this week. We arrived at Kneaders and I told her that I would rather have Costa Vida for dinner. I convinced her to try Costa Vida. She has never eaten there. As we were looking at the menu, I turned over to an irate employee. I did not know she was the manager until after the situation. She was yelling at me stating that the person in front of me was the last customer (I was in the restaurant before him). I tried to speak but she kept interrupting me. She yelled we closed at nine and we are running out of food. I tried to say I was in the restaurant before nine but I was being interrupted. I also stated that google says they close at ten. I was told that someone keeps changing the time and to leave the establishment. I left humiliated. She did this in front of at least seven customers. I was flabbergasted by her actions. I went back in to ask for her name and she refused to give it to me. Another employee took it upon himself to kick me out. Told me to leave. There was another lady that was very sweet and her tone of voice was not out of line. She stated nicely for me to come back tomorrow. There were people laughing as I was walking out. I cannot confirm if the employees or the customers were laughing. Once out of the establishment I called to speak to the manager and to my surprise it was the same voice of the one yelling in the store. I asked her if she was the one yelling at customers. I told her she treated me very poorly. She blamed her actions on having two employees walk out and she was overwhelmed. I told her, that is no way to be treating a paying customer. She continued to argue with me over the phone, as I was asking for the store number and her first name. I have never been treated like that at any establishment. I didn't do anything wrong. I literally walked in to spend my hard earned money, have dinner with a good friend, and be full of yummy food. We went back to Kneaders. They had amazing food and customer service. For nearly the same price but a better experience. My friend stated she will never recommend or try Costa Vida. We would've been perfectly fine with her stating "We are running out of ingredients. I apologize but we would love for you guys to come by tomorrow." In a sincere and gentle tone of voice. She is clearly not fit to be a part of management. She also sets an example for her other employees. The other employee was just as unprofessional as her. Very poor experience and would rate this zero stars. read more

This place is way good. I don't know why for whatever reason but a lot of people are partial to Cafe Rio. Why I have no idea? This place is great, but it's location may be why it's not as successful compared to Cafe Rio. It's located across the street from Edwards Grand Teton movie theater on the other side of 17th. Nice inside and pretty clean which I always appreciate. Good sized burrito that my son enjoyed and he is one picky eater :) I had a couple tacos with raspberry Chipotle chicken that I enjoyed. We also really liked the flan! If I didn't have a coupon I would have thought the price was high for fast food though. read more

This is by far the worst restaraunt I have ever eaten at. I feel bad giving the crap hole 1 star. The food was aweful, has no flavor. I asked for hot sauce on my grilled steak burrito. Took a bite and didnt even have a hint of spice. Ate half of it and threw it away. The kids working behind the counter have NO customer service at all. Originally asked for a shrimp burrito but was told it would take 5+ minutes and the shrimp were frozen. Soooooo....I didnt want to make the kids work harder than they were (sarcasm). This place was so dirty and the prep area was a mess. The manager and owner should be embarrassed to let humans inside. I am not joking when I say it was the worst. I eat at a lot of Mexican restaurants in Idaho Falls, and Costa Vida is by far the worst. I took my granddaughters here for lunch, and none of us could finish our meals. The pork on the nachos tasted like it had been cooked in a sugar syrup--nauseatingly sweet with no flavor besides the sugar. Will never go back. read more

The service has dropped through the floor. I'm not sure if this location has a new management/owner or just had a bad night, but it was not good. I lived in IF for two years and fell in love with this location. None of the other locations could come close to the customer service. It now seems that the IF location has gone to crap as well. The first problem was that we were there on a Saturday night at 8pm and they were out of rice and sweet pork. How you run out of food on Saturday at 8pm is beyond me. It just shows how poorly managed it is. The second thing that was gone was the great warm smiling faces if the previous manager and staff. They felt like friends! Now we got one smile from a group of college kids that are just there to clock in and clock out. The third problem was the 10+ chips in the nachos. There were so few chips, that when my kids were done eating there was still half the toppings left but no chips to eat them with. If your trying to cut corners, chips is probably the last place to do it. Sadly, it looks like our love affair with the IF costa vida is over. I guess all good things must come to an end! read more
