Drove over and was told I needed to go back to air station. Went back to air station only to see sign to go to stalls for assistance. Waited 20 minutes to fill my tires with assistance. Costco is a great place to come shopping, escpecially if you like getting toilet paper and paper towels in bulk. You can get pretty much anything here, your weekly groceries, flowers for the spring/summer. Flowers for specific occasions like valentines day or just because you want to surprise you wife. Some of the things we love getting here are the TP, Paper Towels, Chicken Taquitos, deserts (Half Sheet Cakes are delicious and only $18). The food court is really good too, and cheap. You can get a large pizza for $10, but this large is really like an extra large. You can also get frozen yogurt, salads, hot dogs and more. You can now also make purchases with visa credit cards now, whereas before, they only accepted debit cards! read more

Might as well buy them from the good guys. Don't shake your head. You know exactly what I mean. You walk into a tire place for a tire and come out with almost $1000 put onto your credit card. They get you at every turn. And, if you're a woman? Forget about it. They try to take you to the cleaners. Not. Here. Zamir got me checked-in for my appointment. It was a fairly substantial wait, I'm not going to lie. But I'm not going to hold that against Zamir as the reason the wait was long was that he was explaining - with the patience of a saint - the issues one elderly person had with their tires. I watched him kindly, even tenderly speak to this individual. I watched as he figured out discount after discount after discount so that the person could afford the repair. I'm not even sure all of those discounts were applicable. But he was there to serve. He treated me with the same respect & kindness. He also found me discounts and explained my situation fully. He figured out how to manage my situation with the least amount of time and in the least expensive manner. Take that high bar and raise it a few levels. This guy is gold. Johnny worked on the vehicle. Super nice man and, again, took the time to explain to me my tires, my warranty, the services I was entitled to in the future and more. I didn't ask for him to do that. He did it. He didn't rush. He looked me in the eye. He spoke respectfully. Rodger brought my car to me. Again asked me if I had any questions. Great, GREAT smile. My 98 year old Mom got duped by the Audiologist here and was sold hearing aids for $3000.00+, she went back several times until finally 2 years later her warranty was up and they told her there was nothing they could do. This happened AGAIN on Saturday 6/25/2022. I was at this location as soon as it opened when I was walking in with the mass of ppl the lady at the door only asked ME for my membership card! Today, 12/1/2023 @ 1PM, at the Richmond Highway, Alexandria location an employee name Lena at checkout (checking receipts against items) was lazy and rude. (Lena claimed she had no badge or employee number, and given her attitude, she probably gave me the wrong name). Without taking the time to confirm, Lena declared there were more items in my cart than the items identified as sold on my receipt! She was dead wrong and incredibly belligerent and rude about it. Oh how I love this place-I have been a Costco member for 17 years now. I visit often to pick up fresh fruit and vegetables (much better deals than regular grocery stores) and I always find what I need...and stuff that I don't always need (ha). The employees are super friendly and helpful-one lady in particular (Michelle), makes me and my SO feel like long lost friends when we get our glasses adjusted in the Optical Center. Parking lot is easy to enter and exit; always lots of parking spaces. 1,000 times better than the Pentagon City location! This was the only place I felt comfortable shopping during the pandemic-they were very organized with cleaning carts, limiting the number of customers into the store, and very efficient with checking out. Don't let the long lines fool you-because they are so organized, they go quickly! I especially appreciate the fact that Costco prioritized the health and safety of both the employees and customers by putting up plexiglass and requiring masks. Best Costco I've been to...coast to coast. Puts the Cali ones to shame. The only reason why I took a star off was because they have the usual Costco Achilles heel...Shopping cart returns are always full, and carts are all over the parking lot. Need some returns farther out into the lot as well. Had a minor attitude issue with a lady at the exit, but that was an anomaly. She was friendly the next time I saw her. Lines are shorter and parking easier here, and is easier to get to than Pentagon City. Wish they had gelato like at Pentagon...but can't argue with bbq beef brisket sandwiches. This is definitely the only Costco I go to now...close to bed bath and beyond, Michael's, TJ Maxx, Pier One, Lowe's, Amvet Thrift Center (great for furniture and fixtures to refurbish) and a lot of other great stores. read more

This is a decent Cosco but I come here often for pizza and it is always mass chaos at the food counter. The servers always have sauce all over their hands and the counter as well, so there is typically pizza sauce all over the outside and bottom of the box when they hand it to you. read more

I prefer this Costco over many others I have been to. I went to the one in Springfield for years where the parking lot is horrible and the people that shop there are beyond rude. It is a melting pot in our area with people from all around the world here and i the Springfield Costco is where many don't speak English well. You won't hear excuse me and you might get people cutting in front you or ram you with carts. The Pentagon one is the worst parking and I don't deal with that. This Costco seems to be different then those two so I like it the best out of those others. It's clean and friendly plus there is parking. There are long lines but at Costco that is always the case. I am not sure this is a large Costco because u believe that others further outside the metro area are larger. read more

This is specifically about the tire center, the supervisor names Brandon(?) as well as the store general manager, who was a woman but I did not get her name. I had an issue with my cars TPMS system. I called costco, explained the issue, gave them my car information, and they said they could fix the issue. I was given an appointment and showed up when requested. After a short wait I was called and told that I needed a new tire. I was a little surprised as I had just replaced that tire, but stuff happens. after I left, the TPMS issue has not been resolved. I called and they said I need to " wait a bit"... again odd, but im not a tire expert. Nothing happens from waiting, I go in and reset the system myself and give them a call. They say they need to reset the system, I tell them I already did, restate the entire problem, and they again say they can fix it, and to come in for another apointment. When I arrive for the second appointment. I am told by brandon that they do not fix TPMS issues. This of course was a surprise as that was what was supposed to have already been done, thats what they charged me for, and thats what they told me had been done. What follows is nothing short of an argument, where brandon and the store GM make up completely nonsense reasons why they did not fix the car such as.. " we never fix tpms sensors " - there is literally a tpms sensor on the customer counter that says.. we fix tpms. "we didnt know what TPMS sensor you had" - thats obviously a lie as we spoke directly about the make model and year of car. So I guess they never even checked? just blindly said they could? To top off this ridiculous situation. the store manager tells me " if you goto a honda dealer, and they tell you you didnt need your tire replaced, we will refund you" Which was met with an absolutely astounded face from me, as how in the world is the honda dealer going to look at a new tire and decide that the old one was bad? Ridiculous, Complete, waste of time. Costco should do better. read more

Let me begin by saying I'm biased. Not against Costco in particular, but wholesale shopping period. It feels a bit like cattle herding .. I dont know why... just tons of people rudely cutting each other off to without any cordiality or sense of "other". With that said, this place wasn't any different. They do adhere to Covid-mask guidelines, and that's important... but there is no regulation of # of people in store. On the weekends it's crazy crowded... so you're better going early or very late. Food and lanes are ok... Clean for the most part but not immaculate. Food Bar is good but they are sometimes heavy handed w/the salt. If I could give them a 3.5 I would. Not bad, not good... it's wholesale population grazing land... w/ us as the cows. (Pessimistic sounding, I know). I offer this self-critique.... often times it's the culture of the population that makes r breaks an experience... Bullied and ganged up by check-out person Lanna, supervisor MaKieth and supervisor Massay into renewing my Costco membership today. It's 3:25, all my stuff has been rung up and I'm told by Lanna that I must renew my Costco membership today, I handed her my Costco Cash card with $100 on it and requested to have the purchase rung up on that instead. She flatly refused, citing that since I am a member I must purchase a membership for my expired membership today and that I couldn't use the Cash Card. I know my terms and conditions, because I gifted a bunch of the cash cards for Christmas last year and.... "Members and non-members may use the Costco Cash Cards to shop at any Costco location in the United States, Puerto Rico, Canada and online at Costco.com." - https://www.costco.com/Costco-Cash-Card.product.10024438.html She then called MaKieth over who mutters something under-breath condescending and repeated Lanna's platform, then proceeded to put my stuff in my cart and pushed it out of line so that I MUST to go to membership to purchase my $100+ of groceries. I explained that 'm trying to get out the door before the 3:30 crush hour and reiterated, can you please take my Costco Cash card, it's corporate policy? He flatly refused, making up his own rules and added there's no one at the member's counter, so why don't I just go... Well there is, 5 people deep on one end no one on the there end where no Costco staff is. He then walks away and my cart is just in no-man's land. In effect, bullying me and coercing me into renewal right then and there. I head over to the far end of the counter where the 5 people aren't and says I'd like to renew my membership and Massay comes over and tells me that everyone else is trying to do the something and that I must get behind the 5 people. MaKieth comes over and chimes in... So I cop... I asked to downgrade to the $60 membership and Massay says, oh, the system won't let me... Then after sometime the system seems okay. Then I go to ring out with McKieth and he hands me some more incompetents and attitude. I am not a happy camper. I was told that I can voice my dissatisfaction with the GM, so I did. First asking if there's some rule that states that if a member's card expires, the member must renew and can't pay with a Costco Cash card. The GM said no. He graciously asked how he can make things better and I said he can compensate me for the lost time talking to these 3 passive aggressive individuals that knows not their own corporate policy. Which he did and I thank him whole-heartedly. He assured me that he would talk to these 3 staff members, adding that this was not how Costco did business. If corporate is reading this, please follow-up with the GM to ensure that Lanna, MaKieth and Massay understand that how they behaved was just plain bad. I felt their focus was on having each other's back, 'against' the customers, be it taken to the level of poised coercion. It was demeaning and humiliating having all 3 staff members passive aggressively tell me I must renew the membership today to purchase my groceries. Where am I? Some 3rd world country shopping in a black market run by gangsters? I've been a Costco member for nearly 15 years, 10 years in CA, 2 years in NY, 1 year in CO and 2 years in VA, loyaly brining my business to Costco and today's experience is enough. To keep this short and from just being a rant, we got put in a position where this location wouldn't help us sort out getting our yearly dividend/member savings and basically tried to force us to pay for a premium membership as their "solution" to the problem. This is by far the best Costco in the Northern Virginia area, hands down! I made a drive down to this Costco location for the very first time today. There is ample parking, and today was the first time I ever shopped at Costco stress free! Granted that I shopped on a weekday, there was barely anyone here today! The staff is very friendly and didn't give me an attitude at all. During checkout, I was going to load some stuff from my cart onto the conveyor belt, but an employee (not the cashier) volunteered to do it himself. Also, I forgot to get another set of bagels since we're required to get two packs of bagels. This same employee that helped me load items onto the conveyor belt also volunteered to run to the back to get me that 2nd pack of bagels. Excellent customer service! The funny thing is that I live directly across the Costco in Pentagon City. Even though I can simply walk across the street and do my grocery shopping, I'm limited to what I can get if I bring my portable shopping cart. I could simply bring my car and be part of the madness of the parking lot, which is the worst Costco parking lot ever! But no! I decide that I don't want to be part of that mess. The Costco in Pentagon City is crowded inside as it is outside! Thankfully I found this Costco in Alexandria. They shared their insider intelligence with me and steered me wisely away from the Pentagon City Costco and straight to this one; I owe them a debt of gratitude. Not only did I really enjoy the insanity-free parking, the wide open spaces to roam (even on a Saturday morning), and the great selection, but the hunt for this Costco led me to another wal-mart on Richmond Hwy. Yeah, an alternative to the disgrace of a place just a few miles away. I'm not a huge Costco fan, but every now and again, one does need 48 rolls of toilet paper and when that need arises, only Costco will do! Went here on opening day and it was amazing, like all of the other costco's, at least in my opinion. Of course, it was the grand opening and the CEO was roaming around so they were pulling out all the stops. Maybe a review update is in order in a few weeks/months but for now it was excellent all around. They opened a bit early and had more samples and employees that I usually see on a Thursday morning but overall it was looking pretty normal. Prices were what you expect out of a Costco, as was the quality of the meats, food, etc. Parking and traffic was decent, with some room for overflow space in the next door walmart. Leaving if you want to go left you will want to go to the Walmart light. I also recommend checking out Costco's website as they have free shipping on everything and lots more than is in the store. We buy gift baskets for occasions and large ticket items and all kinds of things. Overall, I could just see the employees caring and worth the extra money they make (with benefits for part timers even!). I'm no bleeding heart liberal by any means, just business-wise it seems to be worth it in terms of service and quality of everything going on at the store.
