It's alright sometimes. The employees are limited in number, but if you play your cards right, you can find bargains. For men wallets and belts especially. I wish I could say their colognes are a great value, but alas today they aren't at all. Plenty of reputable online retailers smoke their prices. Also finding shirts or hoodies, it isn't what it used to be. Yes it's still Nordstrom's, but I've done better at the parent company for discounts. Occasionally you can get a deal here. Yet they've definitely not been as competitive as they once were. To its credit this store is fairly well stocked and organized. If in the area it could be an option to check. Yet my hope is with the new Burlington and other discounters, this might force them to slash prices again. Time will tell. read more

It was okay. Very little handbags worth buying. I had seen 2 bags online and went to see them in person and they didn't have them even though I purchased them online to pickup at their store. I could decide on another color. Nope. I went to Neiman Marcus Last Call and set up a appointment to see the items I want to purchase without hassle. This Nordstrom Rack is a newer addition to the Springfield Mall, having its own separate entrance as well as an entrance into the main mall. The space is a little smaller than other Nordstrom Racks, and the selection of clothing is a bit scarce and underwhelming. I was able to find a cute Stylestalker sweater on sale that was in great new condition (just make sure you inspect the clothing wear well, as there can be sometimes loose threads, make-up stains, or off-stitching). The handbag and the sunglasses sections are also limited in variety, and the sales/clearance tables are forgettable. Was in the mall and found out there was a Nordstrom Rack here, so we stopped in to see what deals we could find.... We were pleasantly surprised to find Tory Burch shoes and boots, amongst some of the other popular names. Not a very impressive selection of menswear though. We were in the store well over an hour and the only two employees we saw were the two cashiers (who were extremely friendly, BTW!). The Nordstrom Rack in Tysons has a better selection, but this location in Springfield Town Center (located on the same side as the lower level of Target and the food court) comes close. There's a good selection of women's clothing and shoes, and everything is well organized for the most part. There's no signage for the cash registers which can be confusing, but if you're facing the store from the entrance, it's located on the left hand side next to all of the beauty products and women's accessories. I haven't seen any sales associates with the mobile register at this location (yet). Depending on the associate at the cash register, they can be pushy with their rewards card but I get more points on my credit cards so I always decline. As with all outlet/clearance stores, you really have to spend time to look for what you want, but it's worth it for the price point that you're paying for. I needed a new pair of jeans and Nordstrom Rack delivered easily and quickly and that makes me a fan! My jeans had a hole and it was growing. I knew I needed a pair of jeans that I would enjoy wearing and feel able. I also knew that was asking a lot. After a quick check of Talbots Outlet followed by a visit to Macy's (which was just awful -- seriously, they never did show me any jeans except petite and juniors... I'm 5'10" people!!). Thankfully something pulled me into Nordstrom Rack. They didn't have tons and jeans but I grabbed a couple of styles and a few tops and headed to the dressing room. BTW, nice, clean, organized, and well monitored dressing rooms. Dressing rooms matter to me. I want to get a feel for an item in a decent space. It needs to be big enough that I can bend down or reach up without making contact with the walls. Thankfully these were nice and the monitor was pleasant and helpful. I tried on three pairs and found a pair I really liked that were long enough (which can be challenging). I also got a top that goes with jeans and work pants. The staff was nice and helpful. Checking out was easy. Even if I never buy from here again I will remain a fan because I was so glad to find a nice pair of jeans that I love to wear, feel good, and have gotten complements. The selection here was decent, as was the staffing. We visited on Labor Day and were able to get some great deals as there was an additional 25% off of clearance merchandise. When we went to check out, we were not too far back in line, and a staff member offered to check us out at one of the desks in the middle of the store. We then had to wait for it to be unlocked, and probably would have been out faster had we stayed put. I was underwhelmed when I purchased a pair of designer sunglasses and a matching case was not available. I really love this location. They have a decent selection and it's conveniently located next to Target and Off 5th. Parking can be tricky but it's free. Annie- one of the fabulous women who works here- was super helpful during my return today. Instead of saying, "sorry nothing I can do because I had no tags or receipt", she took the time to think of a way to locate the information by calling the gift card number. Will NEVER, repeat NEVER, spend another dime (more like couple hundred a pop) at Nordstrom. This particular store may very well be an anomaly but trying to get anyone to assist outside the store (district manager, regional manager, anyone) was futile. Nordstrom used to be a great shopping experience. Even Nordstrom Rack was above average. Absolutely not this location. The lack of management at this location (and throughout the company) makes the entire brand look back. Had a situation (item disintegrated, called manufacturer (Kenneth Cole) and they told me to go back to the store and switch out the item. Yes, I had my receipt, yes I relayed my conversation with the manufacturer to the store employee, yes it was the exact same item, and yes my receipt was past 30 days (I believe it was under 3 months). As directed, I wanted to exchange for the Exact. Same. Item. Nope. I Explained that I talked to manufacturer and was told to take the faulty item back and exchange it. Nope. Asked for manager. Nope - no manager working. Asked for them to call manager. Nope. Asked for district manager (never answered phone), asked for regional manager (never answered phone). Asked for corporate office - wouldn't provide any assistance. Horrific customer service (total lack of). It was like it was like they were playing a game to say no as many times as they could. With no one available to assist and me wanting to talk to someone in charge, the pretend store non-manager said I was making the cashier nervous and she had security escort me out. What a joke. So modis operandi is to refuse to help, not have manager available, no "up the chain" manager available, and then get security. (short, black, sloppy-dressed, masculine looking female "undercover" security) to remove the person so you don't have to resolve the issue. I'm not used to being treated that way. As someone who never even got detention in school (yep, goody-goody), I was mortified! You escorted me out of your store??? Seriously, Nordstrom? No voice was ever raised, no fuss was ever made, God forbid, no "threat" was ever made, I just wanted to speak to someone who would listen and help. This is why stores are closing left and right, you treat your customers horribly! Shame on you, Nordstrom. I will put my hand on a Bible and swear I will never grace you with my money ever again. My first time at this location and I was pretty satisfied in the helpful and friendly customer service. The store is about the same size as the Pentagon location. They do have a good selection but as far as the women's shoes it's not as great of a quantity as the Tyson's Corner and Pentagon. The store is clean, organized and nice fitting rooms to try on items. We found a pair of shoes for my husband and didn't have time to wait in line right then and asked them to hold them behind the counter. A man named Amin said he would put them behind he counter. Less than an hour and a half later, we go back to pick them up. Amin then says he put them back. With no explanation of why or apology. My husband went back with 2 managers and could not find them. I am very frustrated with the horrible customer service I received in this store. Never happened at Tyson's location. I had purchased a dress that was not from the store but it had been returned by someone else. I bought it at a really good price but didn't fit my wife. I lost my receipt but paid with my Nordstrom card. The managers both refused to make the return by telling me they couldn't find the item. One of them came, she didn't bother to greet me, now did she apologized. She didn't look nor speak with me at all. She handed the dress to the cashier snd told her to told me that the return couldn't be processed. I speak English, she could have said it to me. I am never setting a foot in that store. read more

Stopped in here to do a return and check out the inventory. Parking lot is shared with the Target. There's an outdoor and inside entrance. Signs all over the place say 'find a green shirt employee who will help you with checkout'. I found a green shirt person who helped me with my return. The cash registers are in the back of the store, not very easy to find, but I guess if those green shirts are all over the place, then who needs the register??? WRONG... I was going to purchase a few items, and ran into a green shirt gal. I asked if I could pay, and she seriously said, "oh, you need to go to the register". I said" well the signs say, look for a green shirt". She seriously argued with me, and said 'well the registers are right over there'. I just walked to the register since I was in a hurry. Seriously there were TONS of green shirts walking around. This gal was in the purse section, doing nothing but chatting with another green shirt. Honestly, the Fairfax location is so much better. Huge place. Parking can be a pain. Enter from frontier drive near the metro. The interior is bright and Airy if a little dingy. The men's section is well laid out. However, it is rather low end. It is definitely lower end products than the Tyson's location. The men's dress shirts had lots of cheap tinny hilfiger. There were no John Nordstrom signature dress shirts. Those are generally the best deals at the rack. The men's shoes are also on the cheaper end. There are some good things for men. Lots of casual wear. On a visit this week, there were tons of swim trunks and summer shirts. read more

I hardly ever go to this mall because I live in Centreville, but I decided to try today because of the Clear The Rack sale. My usual is the Fairfax one. I also go to the tysons once in a while and the one in Dulles Towne Center. But after my experience with the employees last night tells me its a good thing I don't live near here. Asking to scan for a price and she was very rude about it and she seemed annoyed . When it was the same price as the label, she asked if I wanted the other one checked I said yes, I asked for both. Made me feel as if I was bothering her. She wouldn't let me use my discount, because of some phony rules she came up with and stood around questioning me. Then went to the back to talk to HR for about 15 minutes. She obviously didnt. As others have mentioned, it's very hard to locate a customer-service rep anywhere. For checking out and returns, the register is located somewhere in the back tucked away. I'm a huge fan of Nordstrom Rack and I have experienced excellent customer service with this company in the past, but this evening, I had a terrible experience at this Rack store. I was shopping with my 10 year old niece for her first bra and a couple of items for myself. When we went to the dressing room area to try on our clothing, I asked the dressing room attendant if we could use the family dressing room, since there was two of us and my niece was going to need some assistance with trying on her first bra. The dressing room attendant told me no, because they only save the rooms for "families or disabled." She looked at my niece and then gave me a very narrow description of what she considered families and disabilities to look like and then told me I could go in the men's dressing room and possibly ask for their family dressing room. I asked to speak to a manager and attempted to explain that since there was no one else, within the very limited "family or disabled" description, waiting for the women's family dressing room, that we should be able to use it. It's purpose should be for families, specifically those of us shopping with children. My niece would not have felt comfortable trying on bras in the men's dressing room and it would have been completely unnecessary for us to go to the men's family dressing room when the women's family dressing room was vacant and no one else was waiting for it. I'm still baffled that this store allows for discrimination against certain families, certain looks, etc without any consideration for things that aren't immediately visible. Not all disabilities are visually noticeable right away. What if my niece had Autism, Sensory Processing disorder, a prosthetic leg, ADHD, mental health issues, etc? You can't tell those things just by looking at a person. I won't be returning to this store and I will be reporting this incident. read more

Any reputable merchant will inform their customers of store policies. I found out the hard way they do not issue refunds, even with the original receipt, original packaging, and original tags. I love Nordstrom rack, that is if I can find something in my size. The prices at the rack are great and you're getting better deals than say, an outlet store (which if you didn't know is highway robbery). I have found adorable purses, cute jewelry from name brands like lucky brand, Kate Spade, or Betsy Johnson, and decently priced makeup. But as it stands today, I am a plus sized woman. I love my body and I would not change anything about it. But imagine going in to a store that has thousands of great deals, designer, and styles.....and almost none of it fits you. In a massive sized store there is on average around four racks of clothes for plus sized women. A rack for tops and jackets (yes not separated, all together), a rack for pants, a dismal dress rack with around 3-5 dressed in each plus size, and one sale rack. I look around at the racks upon racks upon racks of clothes in all other sizes, including petite sand sometimes even tall. Do you see how someone can be discouraged? Nordstrom stores have a plus size section, and a good sized one at that. So why are we being condensed to four racks if we want a deal? Where do all of those clothes go? Now that being said the one sale rack you get is probably going to have some good deals, but are you getting the best selection? Not really. When I went on Sunday I found a $800 PLEATHER vest that was marked down from $1,500.....please tell me who is wearing this stuff? Because honestly I know no one who be caught dead in laser cut pleather. Now if the feeling of not belonging wasn't high enough already, I'm a size 11 shoe. They DO have a decent sized 10 and up shoe section. But once you walk to the "designer row" the section they reserve designer shoes to, suddenly there's none. I read vogue. I know designers, I know you make shoes in my size. But why not carry them? It's a great store, I have found some wonderful pieces there. But I struggle to find positive things to say about a store that refuses to realize plus size women are the new normal, what the average sized woman in America is. Stock your stores accordingly. I went in about a week ago and bought a bunch of things totaling 230 and then went back a couple days later and purchased shoes for around 35. The first time they asked me if I wanted to open a rewards account i said no because you choose a credit card or a card that you can link to your debit. I didn't want to do that but when i asked if i can link it to an existing credit card he said YES. So he did it, and at first it failed but he tried it again and after what seemed like forever he said it was approved. I made my purchase...went back another time and purchased the shoes the same way - no problems. Today I get a call saying there was a problem connecting the card to my bank and the amounts were rejected...i explained i used a credit card and they said they are sorry the cashier did that but it has to be to connected to a bank account. WELL I NEVER WANTED THAT. Now they said I need to go in and pay cash/check/debit asap or over the phone to pay the balance. They said I can not use my credit card unless I return all the items first and then re-buy them. I already took off all tags and one item was a gift so i don't even have it anymore. There isn't even ANY compensation for all the inconvenience. SERIOUSLY? Get your ish together. Now I have to waste MY TIME and go in so shitstorm can get their money because of their mistake. LORD KNOWS If I don't pay they'd send the debt collectors over, but I get NOTHING when they inconvenience me. I get that mistakes happen but the way they were saying it like "oh yeah so don't worry about it though...you just need to go in and give us about 300 cash asap even though we know you wanted to pay with you credit card..lol silly us". I had PLANS for tonight and now I have to change them to take care of this and I have to bring my sick baby with me. Take away points - 1 - Don't sign up for the rewards program, it's not even worth it except for the intro. $20. After that you might as well get points on a good credit card. 2 - avoid the springfield location because they don't know wth they're doing 3 - avoid nordstrom rack because if they screw you over they will not do anything to try and compensate. read more

There are times that I go in the store and it is fully stocked with great buys and other times where everything seems picked over. I'm a frequent shopper here and very disappointed how I was unfairly treated by a cashier (during my last visit) for simply asking to place an item on hold. I discovered I'd left my wallet at home while in the store with my 4 month old baby. The cashier was completely not understanding with an attitude and did not want to place the item on hold. I asked to speak to a manager and explained the situation. The manager was semi apologetic and agreed to hold the item so I could go home and get my wallet to purchase the item. I just watched an amazing feat in customer service. There was a very impatient woman trying to locate a tag for an item she wished to purchase, and the associate helping her was searching thoroughly for the tag. The woman was extremely rude to two associates, and they both handled it with such grace and composure. I wish people like that woman knew what they looked and sounded like to the rest of humanity. OH MY GOSH - where do I start? JANAY (or however you spell her name) IS THE WORST STORE MANAGER ANY STORE COULD HAVE!!!!!!! I was there for almost an HOUR after I spoke to customer service over the phone about a price I saw online and she had the audacity to tell me she can't price match? I have never been so disappointed in a store when it's their faults they always give a discount no matter how big or small it is. This was just so ridiculous- Saudia the other SM came tried to help and then called Janay who was even more helpless and she has the "manager" title. She could have not "Awed" me like a piece of shit manager and gave me even a 5% discount, after I told her she had the worst customer service for telling me as a store manager she can't do anything she legit said "awwwww I'm sorry." Yes she did say it with a sarcastic tone.. The girl on the register (the one with a gauge) was literally on his phone the whole time I was standing there like I was a wall. She didn't even acknowledge that I was standing there or even both to help me just like everyone else. The SM....
