when I returned 2 boxes of Scoop Away plus 3 bags (total11 bags) I only received$38.35! Un fortunately I didn't look at the receipt, the store was crowded and a family was next to me with a a big orange cart and kids playing on it! Since each of the boxes weighs 42 pounds, plus another 10.5 x 3 for the 3 bags, i didn't unload them, the agent just scanned 1 bag. obviously he missed the correct number of items being returned! I attempted to reach Costco by phone, but after 6 trys I gave up. I will have to drive over there tomorrow (20 miles roundtrip) and try to get the rest of my money! Moral, always check your receipt. I went to self check out with my mom to get food for the house, I went to use my EBT food stamps and this man with an accents made such a big deal out of it that I had to leave all my stuff there with my two kids. This man started yelling and making a commotion. I could not believe how ridiculous the situation became. I don't recommend this place. Costco Rotisserie Chicken- 3 of the best words that one can say. I have no idea the seasoning, I don't care about anything except how damn deliciously-good these juicy chickens are. I will say without embarrassment that I do buy 4 when I visit because they provide a multitude of weeknight dinners and lunches for this family and usually 1 is totally picked apart the minute we get home for chicken sandwiches. The interior is clean and well maintained despite the best efforts of members to destroy the clothing sections, I take Mini-Me with me and the food samples are a big hit, I buy food I didn't even think to buy, because I am sucked in by that one stupid bite of who knows what, meatballs, cheese, chicken something on a cracker.... the list is endless. I do get little bummed out that some items I have bought are then discontinued, but I understand that it helps to make way for new items that they bring in. The road shows are cool as well. I have never bought gas here and probably won't as the price is pretty close to what I pay locally and honestly no mater how expensive the gas prices are in Jersey- IT'S STILL CHEAPER THAN CALIFORNIA!! You need a quarter for the buggy otherwise you are out of luck- they do not provide boxes for the stuff you buy at checkout, at least not that I could see. The parking lot is a really a miracle in itself, because the Club members that park here drive up and down the aisles like maniacs looking for the perfect spot and they have no problem walking in front of you as they dart out in front of oncoming cars and at times totally rude But it's par for the course, I usually shop when I know it won't be busy this allows me time to walk up and down the aisle and spend my hard earned money on stuff I didn't know I needed. Four stars to Costco itself for their awesome deals and food selection. Their meats from the butcher are amazing; they come in bulk so as a smaller family I just break it down and store it in the freezer. Of course you can't forget the sample carts, which somehow always sucker me into buying something new. Their produce and bakery sections are just as great. I love getting sheet cakes here for special occasions as they are delicious, feed 30-40 people, and are only $18.99 for any design! The downside would be the crowds. Everyone comes here from Lakewood and the surrounding areas, which makes the parking lot horrendous. Not to mention people run you over with their carts in the store or have their kids running wild all over the place. I liked Costco when it was at its older location in Brick. Their gas station is the cheapest in the area, but they only accept credit cards and sometimes the lines aren't worth it. read more

Optical Center The eye doctor was fantastic. Dr Kerlyn was personable, thorough and very gentle. I would highly recommend her services. The fee for an exam was posted at $90 but she accepted my Horizon BC BS co-pay of $40. Then I bought frames and lenses from Costco. They were less than half the cost at a private store and still gave me hi index, polished, progressive, Transition lenses and a very modern, stylish frame. A home run dealing with Costco! read more

I had always regarded Costco, its products and services, as something very special. I recently read online that changes at Costco for 2021 includes delivery of perishables including meat, etc. and self checkout lanes. Another change mentioned was that "Senior Hours" would be continued permanently. Yet on a recent visit to your warehouse in Brick Township, NJ a sign posted on checkout lane states that Senior hours are being discontinued effective July 23, 2021. I think to end this policy would be a mistake. Ocean County has the largest Senior popultion in New Jersey. Many of us , who are veterans and propery owners, even at greater cost to ourselves, chose to remain here rather that retiring to warmer climates with lower costs of living and lower taxes. The choice for most was to be close to our families in what will be the final leg of our life's journey. Costco benefits from our staying here because we do encourage or families to become Costco members and shop with you Its only my opinion. The cashier charged us $120 intentionally so we had to go to customer service to get a refund for the cheaper membership $60. Costco is the only place that has it and I'm glad I can still find it somewhere. I choose to go to Costco for the good quality produce, meat and seafood. You can't get this quality at the supermarkets. Their organic selection has much expanded which is great. I don't really need things in bulk but obviously if I'm going to get much larger items for the same price as the supermarket that is a plus. read more

Good customer service in many cases, but clothing selection is often limited to sizes that I and my wife do not wear, despite those sizes being listed on the clothing tables. and it stays that way month after month, and year after year. Upon asking an assistant, they invariably tell me, as do the empty shipping boxes, that some sizes are received in limited numbers and suppliers will not change. Is anyone trying? Do you not check inventory to see what is selling and what is not? Too many of one size and not enough of another! Put the size info etc on the bar code. Too much effort put on ads and coupons and not enough on customer sat. Customers complain of parking problems and waiting in line but if people in the store were cared for properly, people would leave quickly with their shopping carts full after an enjoyable experience. And the cars in the parking lot would have come and gone happily! Instead, I often prefer shopping online at Macy's or driving past both costco and bjs stores to shop in person. My first review ever. I'm 67 and for years have struggled with my hearing - not being able to understand normal conversations especially in noisy settings. I knew I should do something but pride and watching my 95 yr old Mother in law who lives with us struggle and complain about her big old hearing aid gave me reason to pause. And then my daughter met her significant other - a charming young man from England. He spoke with a cute British accent. The one I could not understand at all. And I knew it was time to get help. I went to Costco in Brick NJ and met a very knowledgeable and friendly hearing expert ,Claire, who tested my hearing and designed a pair of hearing aids to install a week later. With just one click suddenly a whole new world of sound popped into my ears. I could even hear my feet touching the floor. The very next evening at dinner with my daughter and friend in a noisy NYC restaurant I actually engaged and enjoyed a long conversation with both. The Kirkland hearing aids saved me. I even use them to stream music and phone calls through my iPhone. They are invisible and easy to use. The battery life is short - about 4 days but fortunately inexpensive. I figure 10 cents a day. The result is priceless. I highly recommend this product and store. P.S. Mom's appointment is next month. read more

My FIL shops here all the time, so I decided to give it a try on Thursday afternoon. The first thing that threw me off was the $.25 for use of a cart. But you get your quarter back after you return it. The Store overall is not bad and the selection, like other Costco stores, is fantastic. Navigating the lanes with other shoppers can be a challenge especially when confronted with retirees and large families. My only contact with a Costco employee was at check-out which was just ok as they want to get you in and out as quickly as possible. The front entrance is a bit off as you have to go against people coming out of the store to get inside the store which causes bottlenecks. Overall, 3 stars read more
