This entrance to the gas station is shorter but very tricky to get in during busy hours, ideally try to get gas before peak traffic time in the morning between 7 - 9 AM, prior like 4:30 AM will be fine, avoid anything mid day because they have people shopping next door at Walmart, the parking will be chaotic, I only get gas here if I am in the area, their price aren't the cheapest, their station seems more spacious, but that doesn't mean they met the high demand of cars, so it will be a long delay during evening hours getting here read more

Definitely one of my favorite updated locations. Getting gas today, I was able to witness a customer being helped with their gas being pumped. Very courteous and friendly staff. This location entrance and exit Definitely had no planning, as everyone leaving wants to turn left and that is blocked off and they turn after the cones which messes up the second lane of people trying to enter the gas entrance... there should have been a separate entrance and exit but other than that, this location is faster than most as they have 4 gas stalls per lane. If they can come up with a better extrance/exit this location would be a definite 5-star. Leaving the stalls, there is no common courteous with patrons, which is mind blogging to just watch as people have no patience or descensy anymore. Then once you are done being cut-off after leaving the stall and passing the cones there is a "keep clear" but those on the opposite side feel like they have the right of way and cut in front of you to try going into the gas station. There just needs to be more direction and aide in the entrance/exit, just very unsafe. read more

This is one of the better Costco Gas locations, as I've been to a few other locations and this one is far superior. This location has a system in place which facilitates traffic and keeps this place from becoming a zoo as many other Costco Gas locations are. Usually even if the lines are crowded, you can still manage to get out of this gas station in about 15. Try not to go in a line with large SUV's as those vehicles generally take a longer time to fill their tanks. I would recommend fueling in the morning around 11 AM as that is when it is the least crowded. Recently, they added car sensors to the stations, so you can see if a car is currently occupying a spot at one of the stations. No more having to wait for an employee to direct you when someone leaves a station. I like that this place has long pumps so that you can go to any line without having to worry which side your tank is on. read more

Despite the horrendous long lines (it feels like people are getting gas at all times of the day here), the gas station itself is spacious, clean, and adheres to CDC guidelines by requiring a face covering. The gas pumps have long cord that will reach either side of your car, and there are also signs that turn green when a pump is vacant and red when occupied. Of course, you do need to have a Costco membership to get gas. You can either insert or tap your membership card (Same with your payment card). I think I need glasses because I hear this station was remodeled and I think it is a cluster mess. Its all about design. Whoever designed this gas station was not thinking about the flow of traffic. The way the lot is set up does not allow for long straight lines of cars. They should of removed the planter and allow for the cars to line up, knowing how many cars visit this place on a daily basis. I saw 2 ways to enter. And one exit. The exit requires an attendant to direct traffic and assisting in cars leaving because the cars are also lining up to enter. So he puts a cone out and lets people exit. There are 4 lines here with 3 pumps per side. The hoses are extra long so they can reach both sides if your one of those people. Prices are good. Duh, especially when Premium is recommended for your car. You save a pretty penny. But, no, not a fan of the layout. I like Cypress. Now thats a good layout. read more

4.12.21 Came here to fill up around 9pm and it was the best! It's cooler in the evening with no lines. Costco Wholesale is closed at this time with the gas lanes open til 9:30pm. They just upgraded the pumps to four (4j pumps per lane as well so we just pulled right up to any pump we wanted! Just hate the rising prices of gas these days as things open up from COVID. It was $3.99/gallon for Premium Gasoline. The pumps do not accept MasterCard unless it is a debit card. Costco loves Visa payment cards however does not accept Amex cards at the pumps unless you have a pin. If you have a Costco gift card, you don't need a membership card to pay at the pump. Just enter that immediately to pump gas without a Costco membership card. If you need help with anything, attendants are available I'm the yellow vests to assist you! read more

I fill my tank up every Monday morning before 7 am and rarely have to wait for a pump. The best time to get your gas is in the morning. I buy premium gas and Costco is always the cheapest. Don't come during the day because traffic is horrendous. It's worse in the evening. read more

I continuously come back to Costco Gas because of their prices, which are always cheaper than the nearest competitor. The lines are long, but go by quickly. They have long hoses, so you can go to any lane, regardless of where your fuel filler is. They recently added some signs that show you the availability of the pumps. My only real gripe is just how the layout of the station causes awful traffic, especially in the middle of the day. It seems so oddly designed, with the exit of the station being the same lane that drivers coming from the west use to enter the gas station. This location probably has the biggest space for the car lines and the most posts. 8 lines with 3 post each. The location of this gas station is also pretty convenient for the houses in the east Chula Vista area as it is located right off east H street near the freeway. The only hassle is probably trying to get in when it is busy, but still a major upgrade from other locations. I know the broadway location has the line pouring out into the street and there isn't even as many posts. Probably the best thing worth of finally reviewing this spot is the new installation of the gas lights up front which tell you when a post in your line is free. It makes waiting more convenient as well as never having to look around for a free spot ahead. read more

Everyone loves Costco gas for its fairly cheap prices, especially in this side of Chula Vista where gas prices are so high at other gas stations. I've seen gas prices in the area be up to 50 cents higher than Costco gas so it's definitely a good deal! However, this Costco is always packed no matter what day or time of the week. Honestly the best times to come for gas are either super early morning or late evening when Costco itself is closed. Good thing is that Costco gas is open very early (6am?) to 8-9pm depending on the day of the week! The lines to get into this gas station is also ridiculously designed. There's often traffic jams going both ways as people are trying to turn into the tiny entrance. What has annoyed me the most however, is that people will line up in the outer lanes and block the entrance while the middle lanes are wide open!! It has frustrated me so many times seeing how inconsiderate people are when there's so much open space in the middle but they won't budge. It doesn't matter what side your pump is, it will extend far enough!! People really need to learn to fill up the space correctly and I've seen it cause so much unnecessary traffic as it spills out into the main street. One tip is that there's actually another entrance that's to the far end of the gas station that I don't think many know about, closer to the side of the Burger King. So sometimes I will go through that way when there's a lot of unnecessary traffic. Costco parking lot brings me so much anger but it's the price I have to pay for cheap gas. read more

I haven't been back home in a while, but I noticed the gas station has been redone and it's SOOO much better for the flow of traffic. They added more pumps as well, which is nice. Only downside is that they tore of a piece of parking so I can't imagine how busy it is on the weekends now. Gas prices are ALWAYS great, never have an issue with that. RON went ABOVE & BEYOND to help me. On my way to get gas I struck a HUGE blackbird/raven and it was stuck in my grill. I was so horrified, I couldn't even look. Ron came to my rescue without hesitation. It was no simple task as it took awhile to remove it. I tried to compensate him as I was beyond grateful! Ron would not accept my token of appreciation and kindly declined saying it's part of his job. It was not part of his job. He helped me out of the kindness of his heart. I'm not sure how to write a review for getting gas? Let's give it a shot. Here's some constructive criticism. The Costco off of Hst East in Chula Vista... Traffic Flow pattern and lines. As you drive into and getting ready to make your way through the small intersection you do not have to stop, however theirs a line which might be confusing people and causing them to stop. Recommend revisiting this line and blacking it out and remove the speed bump leading in(just prior to making your left turn into the gas pumps are...) Post pedestrian crossing signs. The staff working the pumps seem courteous...not quite sure what there suppose to do...it's a bit confusing, sometimes they are proactive when it's busy and get folks to move up or let people know if a pump is open. Some days your on your own...just not consistent. Pumps are always clean the entire station is clean!! I would eat lunch there read more

Thank you, Costco, for the cheap gas. Costco isn't terrible quality gas. Once I fill my tank all the way up, it doesn't budge the line until after at least one to two long trips from Eastlake to Fashion Valley and La Jolla. I get my gas here 99.9% of the time because it's always so cheap. Sometimes, the lines can be pretty unbearable, even after adding more pumps to this gas station. There's gas for 87, 91, and diesel, so if you typically pump middle gas, there's no option for you (unless you want to pump the former or the latter). Costco Gas is for Costco members only, by the way. You must have a Costco card in order to pump their gas! They only accept Costco credit cards, and debit/credit. I also have read that they accept Costco gift cards, but I've never seen anyone pay with that, so I wouldn't know. Occasionally, there are workers that can help you, as well. read more

Can't go wrong with the prices at Costco for some gas! You can definitely tell when the line is ridiculously long. They recently renovated the gas station where now instead of two cars to fill gas it's three! The hours have changed to after checking the hours.... They now open 30mins early during the week (530AM) compared to before(6AM)! I recommend going to Costco for their gas because of their prices and it does last me for the week. read more
