Best prices around! The last time I purchased gas, regular unleaded was $3.69. Other gas stations I passed to get there were between $4-$4.20. Lines can get long. Gas hose extends further than a traditional gas station. This is so the nozzle can reach the gas tank regardless of which side a car is parked. Costco gas stations are only for fueling up the gas tank. Ice, snacks, and any other quick purchase items are not available for sale. Fule is the only item for sale. Air for tires is available at Costco. Air is not at the gas station. Dispenser is located near the tire shop. Tire shop is a short drive to the other side of the building. This is my neighborhood Costco . This tends to get busy any day of the week. This location is easily accessed off the freeway. Parking is usually always packed . Return lines are long a majority of the time . Getting a hold of someone in the tire center can take a while sometimes. I like that they added a self check out area for customers with small purchases. I haven't had issues with the customer service here the workers are friendly and welcoming. The food court lines go quick and the wait time is bearable.one thing to note is that this location specially gives you 30 days to get a price adjustment( this was new to me) . Look through the windows and see the teenagers with their hands deep in your cheese and dough and hands on your hot dog buns, etc. This is nasty. Nobody will care, but if I can save one life then so be it. UPDATE: One year later and everyone (almost) is really nice and this includes people from Costco management and even a fork lift driver. Direct TV guys, Vitamix guy, Solar dude, Water pump guy and clothes folders also very friendly. Also, the location is getting closer to being all Mexican customers - 80% speak in Spanish as they roam the aisles with their three or four ninos in tow. This review is regarding an employee from the optical department. I was told by an older female worker that I can't wear certain glasses because I'm Asian & I have a flat bridge. It's one thing to inform your customers & teach them about how to choose their glasses. However, bringing up a customer's ethnicity is unprofessional, racist, and unnecessary. You employees should know that bringing up one's race is a big no-no. Rather than saying all Asians have flat noses, you can just say instead, "Your glasses will slip down". I've always loved Costco unfortunately we moved a pretty good distance from the closest one. Today we decided to renew our membership after a few years ago and start going again. I'm so glad we did. This location is great. Easy parking and they have so many of my favorite items. Of course we had to make a stop at the food court before leaving. The pizza was delicious and fresh and we tried the new açaí bowls they are selling. Everything was delicious. My only complaint was the dried banana they added to mine. Not a fan. Costco Avondale YOU SUCK! Instead of preparing for the rush you let your employees sit back and record everyone rushing in and trampling all over each other! While customers are waiting in line outside for over 2 hours, you allow your employees to shop first, come out with carts full of supplies and load their cars while customers watch. Where's your integrity? Customers were waiting to get into the store, while others who just got there go in first. To whom it may concern, My husband and I have been Costco members since 2008. Up until today, Costco has been my favorite place to get everything I need for my home and business, to the point that we rave about your service and product quality any chance we get. Needless to say, we never expected a bad experience at any costco warehouse, let alone that we'd have to file a complaint about one of its agents at our local store. On Oct 22nd, I went to our local Costco in Avondale, AZ to return a corded Vacuum cleaner that we purchased last Sunday. Since we were torn between that and the cordless unit, we decided to return it and get the cordless (which is almost double the price). When I arrived at the return counter, I was met by Tammy, one of the agents there, who was rude from the start, then asked if the item was used. I answered no, because we didn't need to use it. Tammy then opened the box, and told me "why would you lie? It was used." Before I could even say anything, Tammy rudely said: "we're done, I don't want to hear it" and finished the transaction with the worst attitude. In my shock, I didn't know what to say or do, until another customer told me, that it was unacceptable for anyone to be treated that way, and advised me to take it up with the store manager, who told me that the agent will be "talked to" for that behavior. However I didn't sense sincerity because when I asked for Tammy employee # or some info to include in my official complaint, no one would give it to me. After my interaction with Tammy, I hung back to observe if she was rude with other customers, but to my surprise, she seemed friendly and pleasant to others, so much so, it made me rethink if I may have offended her somehow. For Tammy to have such rude and ill proportioned outburst, it leads me to believe that it was directed to me personally, and as much as I hate to think it, the only difference I could see between myself and everyone else in the store is that I wear the Muslim head scarf. Moreover, aside from the fact that returned items should've been checked before they are put back on the shelves (which is how we must've ended up with an open-box), why would anyone need to lie about having opened an item when the return policy allows it? As a business owner myself, Tammy qualifies as the physical embodiment of decline in the service industry. Now I know for a fact, that at least 2 members (myself and the lady who witnesses the interaction) would think twice before recommending Costco's products and services, and while I may still be a costco fan, my business will certainly go to another warehouse, even if it's farther away. All due to a 20second exchange that packed in decades of racial profiling. Before I take it any further, I would like to give Costco Management a chance to step up and correct this problem. I had an awful first impression of this location. I just purchased the Groupon for a membership to Costco. I was embarrassingly excited to finally join. I went to the service counter to redeem my Groupon. Everything was going super well until the gentleman (I use that term loosely) asked if I would be interested in upgrading to the executive membership. I politely declined. He proceeded to tell me how I would actually be saving money with this membership because you get 2% back. I stuck to my guns and still declined. He looked at me like I was an idiot and asked, "So you don't like saving money?". I'll be honest, before that comment, I was about to cave. I worked in retail previously and had to frequently up sell products. This is not the way to go about it. He was rude and condescending. I have heard over and over how great the customer service at Costco is, I'm hoping I just caught this guy on a bad day. Maybe they need to provide more training for their employees on up selling. After 30 years, that's how long I've been in Arizona, they've decided not to to renew their lease at 16th Ave & Montebello, it's a great loss to the neighborhood. I went to buy gas after work as usual and drove to a dark gas station, pumps covered in heavy duty plastic, sign covered in heavy duty plastic. The staff doesn't acknowledge us, probably because they're busy trying to get everyone moving as quickly in the check out line. Parking is horrible as well. The food is the same as any other location. BUT I feel like it takes longer to get through the food area and actually getting your food. The bathrooms are at least clean and well kept. We had to make a Costco run and the options were either.......... A. Deer Valley- Great, probably my favorite Costco in/near Phoenix, but a little bit far from Surprise. B. Arrowhead- Closest one to us, but ALWAYS a clusterfuck! C. Avondale- Close, but had never been, so it would be the first time at this one. We went with Avondale and I was glad we did! We got there pretty early after opening which was nice. We got a parking spot right next to the entrance, and had free roam throughout the store before the crowds started to pile up. If you have been to any Costco, you know the type of stuff they carry. We picked up our usual supplies, and were in and out within about 30 minutes. Greeter at the door was incredibly friendly, as well as the boxer/cashier. I can't remember a time where I had a less stress free experience at Costco. It could have been due to how early it was, but whatever, it was a great trip! I think I will be using this one in the future when the family has to make a run. (Will still use the Deer Valley one if I need an item or two..its 2 minutes from work). I love Costco and had a great time here today at the Avondale location! I'll be back, for sure! read more

I just had the BEST experience with a store EVER! I paid for all of my groceries (a full cart--$500 of food). In the parking lot, my cart hit a bump and the cooked ribs that I was going to have for dinner fell out of the cart and made a mess on the asphalt. I was completely mortified! Luckily, Duncan Ayala(I believe was a security officer) saw what happened and he came to help me out. He offered to grab me another one in the store. Unfortunately, they were all out so he came back to offer me 2 fresh pizzas! I was over joyed! He even brought me an iced coffee while I waited! Lastly, his manager Miguel brought the pizzas to my car and told me to come and find him next time I visit for the replacement ribs! Stellar customer service! I'm a Costco member in Iowa but I have been a Costco member for a long time starting when they were Price club back in California long time ago and whenever I travel I always try to find a Costco because they're gas not only is cheaper but you can always be sure that the quality of the gas is good. Sometimes you may have to wait in line but it moves really quickly and there's gas attendants there in case someone has an issue and needs some help they get help quickly. the system is the same here as any other Costco you have to show your membership with the machine and then entering a credit card they don't take cash and you have to have a membership. It is really a good value and a good company the pays their workers a livable wage and gives them healthcare and a 401k. read more

I was greeted by Jessica and she took my order and informed me that my number was 156... tell me why after 20 mins of standing and waiting , I go to the pick up window and address a girl with glass and ask her for my pizza because about 4 people that ordered the same thing AFTER me kept receiving their orders . When I went to the window I informed the lady and all she kept telling me was "it's not ready" .
