This is an awesome gas station - top tier gas, which is a notch above Sam's club gas. It is tricky getting here because of Costco, Target and Aldi - all being close by, it can get crowded. If you come early like 8:00 a.m., you shouldn't have any issues getting in and out. Warning: if you're heading East on Touhy and cross the quadruple yellow line to get into the gas station queue - you are just waiting to get busted by Niles 5-0!! The gas station is a great perk of having Costco membership since their gas is always less than most of the stations in the area. (Although they don't have any signage! So you don't know the prices until you get up to the pump, which is annoying.) They only have regular and premium, no mid-grade. The lines are always long, even more so since gas has been over $4 a gallon, but they move fairly quickly. You swipe your card and can use any form of credit. This place is nuts, and routinely so! It's never not crowded here. But the lines move along and everyone here is used to the crowds and well behaved. I still try to not fill up here but sometimes the stars align. Today, 3-08-2022, the price of regular was $4.289/gal, and headed higher thanks to that butthead in Russia. Why is this place presumably the busiest Costco Gas in Chicagoland? All I can figure is it's in the suburbs, Niles that is, but right on the Chicago city border and thus Chicago tax savings are available for those nearby. Costco gas has been in my life as a norm now. I enjoy the membership perks to buy the gas with a discount. The only inconsistent part for this location is the weird way they made it wrap the traffic around to get in and out. On peak time, they lines will stretch you out which will cause lots of confusion. Other then these pitfalls, I enjoy coming to this location. I recommend Costco gas to anyone with a membership. read more

Nice to get a great price on gas. I would highly suggest to look at the line before going into the gas station area. If the line is way too long, just come back another time. The crowds come in waves and jus need to dodge those times. The station is open for long hours and so you can adjust your arrival accordingly. Our family goes past this area enough so we can dodge those crowds. Again you are saving 20 cent or more per gallon and so it worth your time of the lines are not long. I think only once I've seen the line reach all the way to the back end of the lot and it took about 10 minutes to get to the front. Definitely recommend stopping by at non peak hours, there's never a line when I go in the morning on a weekday before work. read more

I am always checking gas prices to compare different Costco gas stations price points. On January 26th, 2020, gas here is now $2.60 However, the Costco gas station in Melrose Park, IL has a price point of $2.50 (obviously, quite a difference). The best days of the week to buy CHEAPER gas is always Tuesday and Wednesday. Who doesn't want to save money?!?!? I love Costco Gas! As everyone else already said, it's cheaper. There is only unleaded and premium, and you will save either way. I live in Lincoln Park but often visit my mom in Morton Grove, so I try to stop by this location when I can. The main reason is because it's actually less than the Lincoln Park location. Also the lines seem to be shorter or maybe they move faster. Even when I rent a car in other states, I try to fill up at Costco! They do only accept either Costco credit or Visa cards now. This is at least better than before when the third party card was AmEx. I think most people at least have a Visa debit if not credit card. Just my savings on gas alone makes a Costco membership worth it. But of course, there are even more savings in store!!! read more

It means pulling in, which is a convoluted path and waiting in lines until it's your turn at the pump and find out what the prices are. Here's what you need to know: lowest prices for premium gas anywhere... by a LOT. Outstanding service by terry on 11/17/18 - helped everyone on a miserable snowy afternoon. Lowest local taxes lead to lowest overall price per gallon. Friendly staff on site, easy access from the main road (Touhy) and while the lines can be long, they tend to move fast. I've never waited more than 7 minutes. Long filling pipes allow to fill up regardless of which side your car's fuel tank is. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. I love this Costco gas station and am excited when I'm near that neighborhood to gas up. The saving for premium gas can be over 50c per gallon when compared to the suburbs, and well over $1/gallon if compared to city gas pricing. The regular gas savings is a bit lower, and can be matched by other aggressive stations in the suburbs. There is no mid-grade gas option at any Costco Gas station that I know of. read more

I also appreciate the recently-installed new safety nozzles that prevent spills. I love this station but don't want you to love it so it doesn't get any busier. (Joking.) There are increasing numbers of Costco customers with membership cards only on our phone app. Their pumps here don't yet allow you to wave your membership on phone in front of a sensor, (but you CAN pay with your credit card on your phone), so unfortunately, you have to wave a worker down to swipe for you. It makes me nervous because I picture other customers getting ticked off while I search for one. SO, II watch for a worker while I'm waiting to pull up to pump and try to let them know ahead of time if I can, that I'll need help. They've all been very nice, like they smile at you even though they may have to traipse across the station following you to your car, and are helpful if you're having problems with pump. Only once have I seen gas lower at another station in area. And pumps work better than most stations I've been to. And the garbage cans always have room for all my wrappers, dead face masks and dirty pens. A couple pointers, if you drove you probably are able to see, so use your eyes. 1. The 3-WAY stop between the station and Target increases in confusion with the amount of traffic, so pay attention and don't be a j-ass, --take your turn. 2. People like to fly from the Aldi into the gas station-use your eyes and don't be that j-ass either. 3. When you pull in, sometimes the first several lines are longer, like gas is cheaper there. It's not. Keep going and look for a shorter line. 4. You can pull up regardless what side your tank is on. The gas hose is super long and will go around the back or over the top of your car to the other side. Watch others do this if your unsure. 5. When you drive away from the pumps there's a stop sign -use it and go right or left. USE your eyes because some drivers initially think you enter at the same point. You don't! Put the couple bucks you save in a jar or buy your kids a little something. read more

This is an easy way to pump gas, pay at the pump and go. Usually it is crowded on the weekends or evenings but I get here during the week and if I can during the morning hours. Lately the attendants working seem more polite and attentive then in the past. Many different times I came I'd say hello or hi and they would just ignore me or walk right by. I don't know what gives.even had issues with my card once and the guy working treated me like I was a idiot or a child I left feeling disrespected and uneasy. I get up super early (most people are still in their REM sleep when I wake up everyday), so I love, love, love coming here before 7 am to fill up my gas tank. I like that they open super early in the morning (even though the store does not open for several hours later). The gas prices are super cheap (much cheaper than Thornton's or any other discount gas station for that matter). When I noticed this Costco Gas Station was being built I was super happy. When I worked in Lake Forest, IL I would go to the Costco's Gas Station off of Town Line Road. I would be there at 6:30 am and fill up my tank every week. No, it is not any where near where we live, but I drove here last Saturday arrving around 6:30 am. The place was super empty. Love it :) and loved it even more because I only spent $30 to fill up my car (I don't even drive a small compact car either). Yes, gas prices here are excellent so 5-stars for this alone! To use the gas pumps here you must have a Costco's Membership card as you will need to swipe it at the gas pump, followed by your payment (either your Debit card or American Express credit card). Costco only accepts American Express and no other credit card(s) which actually sucks. I rarely rate a business/restaurant with 5-stars on Yelp. This place always has the cheapest gas in the area. Sometimes it's even 20 cents cheaper per gallon than gas stations that are a few blocks away. The only thing is, you need to be a Costco member in order to fill up here. This gas station is usually very busy, but I've never waited longer than 5 minutes to get a pump.
