Had a chance to stop by a Costco to fill up our borrowed car during our short Chicagoland trip. I miss the Midwest Costco gas stations, where the lines are never too long. In fact, this one had no line at all during our fill-up. It has 4 islands, with the 3 leftmost having 3 pumps (thus requiring parallel parking if the middle one is the only one open) while the far right only has 2. (22 nozzles in all). Price per gallon was $3.799 for 87, but 93 octane was $5.099 (a 33% markup)...super glad that our car was fine with 87. It's close enough to the Costco warehouse to notice how empty the parking lot felt on a Monday afternoon. This time, though, my wife didn't want to browse (probably because we would have to take it home by plane). read more

They have cruddy hours. They are open Sundays usually but tell me they get a shipment Saturday morning and if they run out by Sunday that's too bad for Sunday shoppers. Since Saturday and Sunday probably are their biggest shopping days of the week you would think they would care to give Sunday shoppers a good experience at least equal to Saturday shoppers. You pay to get treated like a criminal at Costco. They scan your id on the way in and compare your cart to your receipt on the way out like we are all recovering thieves. Inventory and offerings are inconsistent and unreliable. Try not to grow to like anything too much because odds are it will be gone for weeks or months before you see it again or they will just stop carrying it altogether. Also be prepared to have pushy sales people accost you throughout the store. It seems Costco rents floor space and takes a cut of proceeds every week from different carnival barkers selling some new gadget, cheap jewelry, car remotes, or mobile phone services. They used to have good meats at good prices but it seems good meat deals are harder to find. Clothing offerings are pretty mediocre. They definitely could offer some nicer clothes than they do. They push more and more shelf space away from name brands towards Costco Kirkland brand. They do have decent gas for good prices and good deals on tires and installation. They sell batteries at good prices but don't install them which is something they should offer. read more

I thought I had reviewed this business before but I guess not since Yelp is not showing it. This is a good gas station based on its pricing and service. You will find lower priced gas here compared to the nearby regular gas stations. There are plenty of lanes and their fuel pump hose lines extend so that you can fill up in a lane with your gas tank facing the opposite side of the pump. I try to get my gas here as much as possible. I love shopping at Costco and getting gas here is a no-brainer. If you are a Costco member you should definitely get gas here or at any other Costco gas nearest to you. read more

I always try to stop at Costco for gas while I'm traveling. Typically the gas prices are cheaper than local gas stations and I might as well spend money at Costco to add more to my 2% reward. This Costco location is very easy to get to from 94. When going to the gas station plan to stay on Riverwoods Road and go past the main Costco entrance. You will be able to see where to turn for the Costco gas station on the left. Remember there are no bathrooms or snacks at the Costco gas station. There is one way in and one way out which makes this an easy stop for gas. The pumps are all long enough that they can reach around your car. We made a stop on Monday while driving back to return our rental car at Chicago Midway. I always like to try and refill before entering Chicago and getting stuck with Chicago gas prices. On Monday we paid $1.88 for gas which was a lot nicer than the $2.49 by Midway! Like always we had a quick easy stop at the Costco Gas Station. It's been a long time since I've been to this location since moving out of state. I remember when it first opened and all the excitement in the neighborhood about getting a Costco. Gas prices are the best in the area and it's one of the closest options for those that live in the Lincolnshire area off Riverwoods Road. The line to fill up is usually five cars- two currently filling up and three in line behind them. It can go fairly quickly if they are small cars, but sometimes people lollygag and it takes longer. Although, any waiting is worth the 10 or so cents you save per gallon. The day I filled up, it was $2.93 when Costco in Lakeview was $3.15 and Costco in WI was $3.07. Definitely a good deal. Great Costco location right off the highway- perfect for getting gas on your way to the city. read more

Yes, the prices. We know. But the key is that the hoses are long and can reach to the other side of the car. What does that mean? You can go in any of the lines and still fill up your tank with a small heart attack. You can go on ANY of the lines, and often a kind employee will even help you pull the hose around your car to help get the lines moving. read more

Their price is always better than the other gas stations as you know already. I use this Costco Gas a lot because of their location. It is right before you enter the 94 expressway, so convenient to stop by for gas and grab something really quick from Costco if I need anything else than the gas. I also like the way how the men on duty is polite and kind to all the customers there. read more

This has always been my favorite location and today I finally visited. They have signs everywhere reminding us to stay 6 feet apart! There is a small plexiglass installed directly in front of the cashier so you can definitely still hear them but it blocks air droplets. Can't help but to love the prices. (And I do!) Just a couple of items keep them from being the full five stars. 1. No mid-grade. 2. Bought gas two days ago and looked at my credit card today and even though I only bought $40 worth of gas they still have a $150 hold on my card.
