It's a fairly busy station as they are located in densely populated Schaumburg and conveniently off of busy Meacham Rd. The gas pumps are located pretty close to the warehouse for what that's worth, probably the closest of all Costco's, so it's a short little drive to the parking spots for the warehouse. Ingress and egress around the station is open and good. Also, I just reviewed my July 2025 survey of Costco gas prices around Chicagoland and Schaumburg was very close to Oakbrook and Melrose Park for the cheapest Cook County prices (only 2 cpg higher than the cheapest), at least back then. It isn't the most convenient location for us, so we don't always go there. The problem with them is how busy they are. There are generally very long lines to get to the pumps. I suppose that goes with the discounted price for gas they offer. The price difference isn't great enough to wait ten or 15 minutes to get to the pump so when we go there and see long lines, we'll go elsewhere. There are several other gas stations withing a mile or so of Costco. Costco Gasoline also offers no other services than gas pumps. If you need anything else done, this either would not be the station for you, or you'll have to finish pumping then go to another service station.

The last time, a woman by the name of Jo, who works in the gas station said I had to take a picture of the pump the gas and how much I bought so she could find my car wash so I did it this time and came to her and she could not find it and said oh well I said I paid $10. This location has several stations where you can hand wash your car or big truck with a power washer for a couple bucks. There are also two automatic car washes as well. I chose the premium wash which is $7. First of all, both the payment machine and the wash machine are ancient. It will only let you pay in cash and only gives back change in quarters. For the wash you drive in until a light tells you to stop. As opposed to other car washes, this one has your car be stationary while the machines go around it. Once its done it'll have you drive out. Unfortunately, the driers do not get the car even remotely dry no matter how slowly you drive out. So as I start to use a microfiber cloth to finish drying off my car I notice the cloth getting all black and dirty. Then as the water started to evaporate I noticed that the entire car was still covered in soot and dirt. Not sure if the water is dirty or because of the lack of brushes, but this was a horrible wash. There's a reason this place always looks deserted. Do yourself a favor and take your car to a regular drive-through car wash.

Some officious and racist girl at the attendant stand tells me I can't use it because it's expired. She tells me she doesn't have the code buttons to put in (her first excuse) then tells me she can't let me thru bcoz it's expired and she can't do anything about (causing a long line behind me while she argues with me and then says I should pay the difference) her second excuse. Then she says she needs to call her supervisor who tells her to take all my expired receipts (all paid car washes mind you) and take my license down so as to not let me get future car washes. (Seriously, all this for an $8 car wash) she then tells me that she'll let me go and to never come back because "We don't want your kind back here!" This is the racist comment that Just put me over so I tell her to F off. To make matters worse as soon as my car exits the car wash, this bald older a hole confronts me and screams at me as to why I made his employee cry and why I was screaming at her. I tell this douche that he needs to train his employees to not scream at customers and that his employee is a racist and said she didn't want my kind here! He tells me that his employee would never say that as if he witnessed the whole thing which he did not and just walks away. Nice job alienating a long time customer. Never more! After all the weird weather, back and forth with snow and rain, and soooo much dirt, I celebrated the first warm day of the year and treated our car to a bath. It was time. It was a simple bath, with no bells and whistles, but now I can drive around with dignity in the school drop off line. If you didn't know, there's a car wash in the back of Shell. It's hidden, unless you see the sign at the pump. The great thing is if you plan to use the car wash, you have two options. Pay at the pump and receive $.10 off each gallon of gas, or if you don't want gas you can head to the attendant at the car wash and pay for one of the following three options: * Regular wash $5 * Plus wash adds sealer wax and under carriage rust inhibitor $6 * Premium will get you wheel brightener and polish wax for $7 I take the cheap seats for $5 and haven't tried the upgrade services, but there is no extra tip to pay, so maybe next time. You are on your own here, and they do have interior vacuums available right around the corner from the wash. There is a yearly car wash plan available. They gave us an optional punch pass. After a few washes the next one is free!

It can honestly make my day (or night). Anyway, this Walmart gas station had the best price in town today. I snagged gas for $3.77, which feels unheard of these past couple of months. What really stood out though was how tech-friendly the pumps are. You can connect your card through Walmart Pay and never even take your wallet out. While you're pumping, there's this little animation of a car filling up--it's oddly entertaining. And when you're done, your receipt is sent straight to your Walmart account. No paper, no hassle. While you're waiting, there's also an LCD screen showing store deals... which of course tempts you to go inside for a little shopping. I don't mind though--it's a nice one-stop stop, and the kids get to walk around a bit after dinner while we fuel up. We've found going in the evening is the best time--way less chaotic than during the day. Tip: If you have Walmart+, you'll save an extra 5¢ per gallon.
