I've been coming here on and off for the past 2 years or so. I have no beef with this place. Sometimes you have to give direction on rubbing off a dirty spot or two when drying off your car. Is it pricey? A little but I feel if you get the monthly, you can get your money worth. If you get the interior done as well, they have a nice store and lobby to wait. I have no problem doing a once over on the car before pulling away. read more

This was my third time coming to this car wash, but I was very disappointed in my last time. Simply put, they couldn't clean my hood from the bird poop after going through twice. I went for an external clean. I went the fanciest which had wheel cleaning. The kid wiping off my car noticed that he couldn't get the bird poop off the hood. He told me I should go through the wash again. No problem. Went through again without a problem. Went to the same kid again and he wiped down the hood and said "good to go". I pulled over to the connivence store and asked for a rag. The lady behind the desk did give me a rag, but was laughing it up with her friends. Never saw the manager. I am disappointed that I paid $25 for a car wash and they couldn't get bird poop off the hood. It will be awhile before I'm back. read more

The continual price increases with the withdrawal of service has forced our three-car family to say goodbye. You can no longer get a towel dry and tip the employee. The latest business model is NO human contact at check-in , drive thru, and exit. I got the message. To make matters worse, there is a large group of employees standing around unable to dry cars for tips. I'd presume employees have suffered this loss to their income. Towel Drying is included only in their upper their membership . Ridiculous. Waterways has lost their "higher level" service status. I'll look for a small business that still is interested in customer service and quality. read more

Quick quick quick. That is the goal it seems get you in and out but at the cost of doing a good job. My car seemed to be just as dirty before going through. I thought at least with the towel dry after that if anything was missed it would be flagged but it is all about getting you out asap. This year's winter season left a film of dirty snow and salt buildup on our car. Our car needed a cleaning badly but the deep freeze we had last week delayed our visit to Waterway. When I pulled up the following Saturday (the temp at the time was 18 degrees) Luke, the manager, standing by the entrance gates told me they had to shut down due to frozen pipes. He suggested I come back sometime next week and to compensate for it, I was given a complementary wash for their "Whole Thing" service. They were able to clean both the interior and exterior of my car. Although not a perfect job, they did a decent job cleaning the floor mats, wiping down the console and cleaning our trunk liner. What they missed were the cupholders and a small nook near the shifter. The facility appears sterile and they have a small mini mart complete with snacks, drinks and car accessory items for sale. Further in they have a waiting area with plenty of couch seating. I waited about a good 20 minutes. Once your car is ready, a rep will come out to you in the waiting room and announce the color, make and model of your car. They will then proceed to walk you to your fresh and clean car. They offer single or unlimited monthly washes at various price points. Overall, it was a good experience and I look forward to coming here to get our car washed in the summer. read more

I went because I had a coupon, which I didn't know was expired but once I got there and presented the coupon the cashier still accepted it! I stopped here on the way home from Wilmette since I forgot I needed gas--or was close to needing gas--and found this place had a really good price (for what passes as a good price right now). It's a gas station, so pretty straightforward; no high ethanol gases to get confused with at the pump like I have to keep myself from doing. They have a car wash, which I didn't use, and a convenience store as well. The place was really quite large. One thing that was helpful is that it had a tap-to-pay option that actually worked! I have only been to a single other gas station where I can seem to get it to work so I was glad when it went through without a hitch here. It was a little confusing getting in--I thought the entrance on the street perpendicular to Skokie Blvd. (Gross Pointe Rd., maybe?) was only for the car wash, but I think I could have entered there. read more

Very rude employees and weird pricing. I had my car washed at the dealer and wanted only an interior wash .The guy rudely told me you can't get that without the whole(most expensive) package. Since I only wanted the interior only, I asked of there was price reduction. The guy screamed at me"NO DISCOUNTS!) Then I had to back out of the line the line because that was unacceptable to me. The inside waiting area very nice with store, etc, but this is not budget friendly -- and the clean isn't always so clean inside. Been a couple times but not affordable to come back. I drive a golf wagon. The brushes and rinse water at this car wash did not touch the rear of my car. I drove out with soap streaks running down the rear window. I paid way too much for the lack of wash coverage and see no reason to return. read more

Ahh! So frustrated. I was beyond excited for this place to open, planning my weekly trips to the car wash in my head even before they officially opened. I just went for the first time. I waited a bit for them to get any kinks out. I know it's hard to find help but after paying close to $30 for the in and out car wash, I expected and anticipated that very happy feeling of hopping back into my shiny and sparkly car. It seems like every time I go there I have to babysit the high school kids they hire to check my car for places they've missed. I really like it here. It's a full-service automated car wash they treat like a business rather than an afterthought at the gas station pump. You can pay a little extra for the white glove after treatment or save money and just drive through if you're in a hurry. Decent gas prices, too. read more

I splurged for a 55$ monthly package for unlimited exterior and interior washes but they charge extra to wash the formats which I find strange! I read all the negative reviews and I can certainly understand all of the issues explained. I don't think it's the best and I don't think it's the worst but for unlimited washes in the winter it's adequate. I prefer the new one in Skokie over the one in Northbrook. They do seem in a hurry to get it done and on to the next car but I'm driving a relatively clean car and I go pretty often! read more

Do not go here unless you want to spend over 60 dollars on your car wash. $17 for just the wash, no interior as that is another 25 dollars. And they don't do a good job. I had to make sure the windows were clean. read more

I'd recommend asking for microfiber clothes. This place will definitely scratch your car paint.

I love entertaining my young kid by going through a drive through car wash with them. It's fun and it gets your car clean! I signed up for the monthly $9 wash so I can do this anytime. I haven't had them do the interior yet, so I can't say much for that, but I do find it extra special they have people waiting outside to wipe the exterior to avoid water droplets. I tip every time. Their "full service" shouldn't be called a full service as they don't even attempt to clean the cup holders, dashboard, or the interior side of the doors. Call it a semi-full service of you all aren't gonna do the basics. read more

Just got the $45 whole thing wash. Got home and found that they didn't even open the back of our suv to vacuum or clean that section. Bird poop and other dirt still on various parts of the car. Sorry we didn't inspect the car closely before we left. Won't be going back. The $5 car wash down the street does a better job on the exterior. read more

This is a brand new car wash located conveniently at the northwest corner of Skokie Blvd and Church St.  It also has a brand new Phillips 66 gas station built right next to it, and I'm not sure if this is a joint venture but it sure looks like one.  I received a grand opening e-mail promo for a free Hot Wax Express car wash, with a $16 retail value.  Nice!, especially during our grimy winter time.  What's also nice is that all of their washes include a hand towel drying, even the basic $8 car wash.   Some of you may know I'm a cheapskate at times and try not spend more than $5 for a car wash, so the hand towel drying was a real luxury, ha.  This new car wash also seems somewhat unique in that you put your car in park and instead of being pushed along while in neutral, you're moved along on a conveyor belt system.  Overall, I was very happy with the wash, and may be back to try their $8 car wash sometime. read more

the car wash machine couldn't even get the leaves that were under the windshield wipers. On a side note, nor could the person who walked around the car drying it! I've been to many car washes and this was the most minimal effort I've ever seen. The was wasn't cheap either for 28 dollars. Too bad I tipped him before looking. I will not be wasting money here again. One other thing, washing a mat that's part of the interior shouldn't be an extra charge too. This is pure greed imo. read more

I work with dogs in my car is always pretty dirty. I could not believe how they cleaned my car! It is absolutely clean inside and out. I will never go anywhere else but waterway and especially at the Skokie location! They were professional and courteous throughout my visit. read more

As of this writing (28 May 2022), it is starting to go downhill.... I drive a lot, so I am there getting gas 3 times a week. The planner who designed the layout of the carwash facility and the Village of Skokie's zoning board that approved this joke of a layout should be sent to prison. During busy times, there is a line(s) to get into one of the car wash lanes. But there is no one managing the lines- so some people get stuck trying to leave after buying gas, or can't get to the gas pumps if they entered off of Gross Point Road. This is only on holidays and weekends. Lots of people use the property as a "short cut" to get from Gross Point Road to Skokie Blvd., so they drive like maniacs right by the gas pumps. This is during rush hours. Recently, they've hired a big guy with a beard who works the desk inside. His greeting to everyone is what you would say to a military dog in training- "Wait a second!", as he holds up his finger at you. He is always on the phone. They have a nice coffee and hot chocolate machine which is out of order every other time I go in there. Mr. "Wait a second" usually says (without apology) "It'll be like 10-15 minutes nuttin' I can do. Come back later". Gas prices were cheapest when they first opened, now they are "average" according to GasBuddy. As for the car wash, it is pretty good! No metal conveyor to latch onto and scratch your wheels- it is a belt system so that NOTHING touches your wheels. If you are the type of huckster trying to get them to pay for your previously scratched car- forget it. They have multiple cameras taking record of your car the very centimeter you enter the car wash itself. Their management better get their act together before this becomes a dump. PRO TIP: If you have little kids, they have a fantastic car wash viewing area inside the building just beyond the command center of Mr. "Wait a second". read more

It was AMAZING. The lady who helped me when I first got there was extremely nice and it felt like she wanted to be there, even though when I went it was just above freezing. She was also wearing her mask properly, like all of the employees. Paige did an amazing job. And the actual car wash was very high quality, it was fun, quick, and effective. My most recent wash things were taken out of my trunk, and anything with remotely any value was not put back. Maybe it was an accident, maybe it was stolen, but regardless I've been given the go-around about making it right. After multiple phone calls and an in-person visit to pick up one of the items taken from my car, management still has not gotten back to me to even compensate the price of the car wash. And always, "the manager will be back in on Monday". Apparently the manager never comes back in. I won't be returning because who has time to police adults about how to clean a car and put things back that didn't need to be moved in the first place. read more

OH MY GOD. DO NOT GO TO THIS CAR WASH. I brought my tesla here to be cleaned inside out (which I paid for) and they give me my car saying it's ready without washing my mats which I made sure would be done before I entered and parked my vehicle and before I paid. I literally grabbed the towel from them to wipe down all the feet marks from my kids on the back of the seats. They didn't wipe down the interior AT ALL. I was told that would be done. I didn't pay so much for nothing to be done. Never again will I come here. read more

i took my Brand new vehicle to the car wash and the long wash cloths of the machine left nice long scratch over the clear coat on the hood. I noticed only when i got home, tried to apply polish and it didn't clear up. those long cloths of the machine really ruining the vehicle. read more
