If you use the GasBuddy app then you already know that Costco Gas has the cheapest "good"gas around 99% of the time. By that, I mean that they carry Top Tier gasoline and carry Regular (85 octane) and Premium (91 octane). I've gone to another gas station in town that had the cheapest gas only to find out that it was the way lower 83 octane that no decent gas station will carry. That was the first and last time I ever got gas from there. It seems like the gas evaporated after I filled up. It didn't last me (mileage wise). I do so at the Reno store, even though I never shop the Reno main Costco, I drive to Sparks, simply prefer the newer stoere in Sparks and find parking easier there when doing shopping. Now when getting gas, find the Reno one is an easy access due to being across from their main parking lot, tons of space and many lines towards the gas pumps. When they are very busy and lots of cars lined up, it simply doesn't take that long for your turn! I find it totally no hassle as I don't have to shop around, I can pretty much get the bstter price here and it is Top Tier. I really hate to leave a bad review, especially for Costco, but my experience here was horrible, and ruined my day. I went here yesterday, Wednesday, April 17, 2019, only because the Costco gas station I usually go to in Carson City is closed for 40 days due to renovations. This one , and the Costco in Sparks, are usually $0.25 more per gallon that the one in Carson City. It started out good. All the gas lanes had three of four cars in line, except the one I chose, where I was next in line. I felt lucky. I filled up the gas fine. But when I went to get the receipt, it just ripped in half. I tried to pull the other half out, but there was not enough to grab. I went to look for the attendant, who is normally easy to find. There was no one. I checked all the lanes. So I stood by the mini booth on an island in the middle, waiting for him or her to come back. Maybe he or she had gone to the restroom across the street in the Costco warehouse (yes, for this Costco, the gas station and warehouse are separated by a busy city street). I ended up waiting 15 minutes, literally. I saw a guy with a gas can and walkie-talkie on his belt, and thought he was the attendant. But he just ended up getting in the passenger seat of a car of a new Toyota Sienna in line. As it turned out, he was an employee at Dolan Toyota, in the back. Then, an older handicapped gentleman at the lane at the end thought I was the attendant and kept trying to get my attention and yelling for me to come. He thought I was an employee. LOL. I ignored him because my voice is weak due to a health issue, and I could not shout back. He kept yelling for five minutes. There was a big commotion with people trying to tell me to help him, even though I did not work there. I guess merely standing by the booth, even though I wasn't wearing a Costco vest, qualifies you to be an attendant. Maybe I should have been paid?! :-) There were also at least four others in this time looking for the attendant. I dreaded calling the warehouse, like another customer suggested, because last time I tried calling they never answered. I bit the bullet, after 15 minutes, and called. After about 30 rings, the frazzled employee finally picked up. I said there was no gas attendant and people here were upset. She called the guy on her walkie-talkie and he said he was there. I said I was waiting at the booth and there was no one here, and she said he is supposed to be standing in the center island. The guy emerged, from another booth at the very front of the gas lot, far away. There is no way anyone could have seen him or that booth from the pumps. Most people, including me, didn't even know it existed. Costcos do have gas attendant booths, but they are usually within eyesight, right were the gas pumps are. So all this time while people were upset, he was just chillaxing in the booth, ignoring the customers. So he printed me a duplicate receipt. I was nicely telling him there were customers needing him all this time, and he just ignored that, acting polite. I told him three times, waiting for a response. I wanted him to simply say yes, he would be more attentive, but he ignored me and just smiled like it was no issue. I was angry, because I had things to do and this cost me time. I was so out of my element, that I forgot to verify the info on the receipt matched the info on the pump, a part of my usual post-fill-up procedure. Also, while I was parked at the pump waiting for an attendant, at least four other cars pulled in behind me and filled up. The line behind me became huge. I went back that evening, when it was less busy, to complain to the manager. He apologized and said he would talk to the employee. He said he was supposed to be standing on the island at all times, except for brief moments he had to return to the booth. read more

Costco Gasoline offers some of the most affordable gas prices in Reno. The pumps are used constantly throughout the day, each and everyday, and yet the pumps are clean. Although their lines may be long during the lunch hours, the pumps seem to push gas through at a rapidly fast rate. Cars should be fully filled after only a couple minutes to keep those long lines moving. And I'm sure most people know this, but you do need to be a member of Costco, or at least know someone who has a Costco card to use these pumps. Our Costco Gasoline experiences are usually always quick, even on the busy days. But our most recent experience was probably one that we will never experience again. First off, we were filling up gas towards the last hour before closing and there was an attendant there to close up shop. We were having a bit of a trouble because my room mate was using her Mastercard credit card for payment (I'm the Costco member). But for some reason, the screen on the pump was prompting her for a PIN number. For her, she was never prompted a PIN number since it was a credit card so she didn't know what her PIN number was. The attendant was quick to notice our struggle and came to our rescue! When he saw she was using a Mastercard, he said that these pumps will recognize Mastercards as a Debit card, even if it's a credit card. Good to know! And with that, we were back on track to fulfilling what we originally came here for. As we finished, the pump automatically stopped on $30.00 even. Now I'm not going to lie, I would sometimes try to manually stop on the even dollar with some success. But never have I witnessed the pump to automatically stop on an even dollar. To me that was an awesome experience. Just thought I'd share that. In conclusion, Costco Gasoline usually has long lines, but those lines keep moving thanks to their many fast and efficient pumps. Offering gas at such a reasonable price it's worth the drive to this gas station. Their gas attendants are also friendly and helpful. Great job Costco! read more

They always seem to have the best prices in town for gas. It's also amazing how adding three pumps to the south end has really cut down the lines that used to go all the way to the street. I'm not found of using those pumps- it requires parallel parking sometimes. This is one of the easier Costco gas locations to find and its right off the freeway. read more

It's a gas station and deserves a fair amount of stars... but today, my membership apparently expired between 2 weeks ago, when I came to Costco last, and now. The pump told me it was expired... and let me pump anyways! It gave me a free pass and saved me a trip across the street, into the madness of Costco, to renew it. Usually among the cheapest prices. The location recently (this past summer) upgraded, adding another row of pumps. There is plenty of room to pump on either side of your vehicle, as long as you stay in the white lines. The lines can get a bit long at times, but that is expected when the prices are so good. I usually arrive as the place opens (6am during the week) and I am usually surprised to see that the place is opened just before 6am. read more

The lines here move quickly even when it looks like it's going to take all day. Prices are consistently the lowest in town and it is located in a convenient location. What could be better? Costco gasoline is a win! I don't always get my gas here, just because there is one with the same price closer to home. The difference is, the gas station that is closer to home charges $.35 when you use a card. Since most of us go to Costco, it's smart to fill up at this gas station. The problem I have is that every time I go there, I pass the entrance! The entrance to the station is a bit obscure. If you find a cheaper gas station closer to home, use it! Great Prices, usually 5 -10 cents cheaper than most places. Though expect there to be a wait, the length of the wait depends on the speed and tank size of those in front of you. They have regular and premium only, there is no mid grade. There is only one way in and one way out of gas station. In case you haven't seen the other reviews.... the hoses will stretch out to reach your tank from the opposite side of the car. Use this to your advantage and choose the shortest line, even if this means that the hose is not on the same side as the tank is on your car. Great place to gas up at. I LOVE that you can pull into ANY lane and fuel your car b/c of the gas pump extender things (not sure what they're called). This was my first experience pumping gas at Costco Gas. This gas station was recommended to me by my bank to me since I have had multiple issues being the victim of credit card skimmers. I used the gas station located in Reno, off of Plumb. It was fairly crowded, being a weekend, but I was amazed at how orderly and clean this station was, and how the skimmers are secured with QC tape. The gas is 25 cents or more less per gallon than other gas stations. Nice, since I have a huge, Landcruiser, gas guzzling car. Only issue for me is that you have to plan your trips since there is only 1 Costco in Reno. But if it reduces my chance at being a victim of identity theft, I will give it a concerted effort to use Costco gas only. read more

I appreciate the lower price for gas. Most customers are quick to pump and get out of the way. However, it gets very busy with the line backing up the street toward Plumb. Customers often pass those who have been waiting in line. Others, come from the opposite direction to cut in line. I hope that management will put up cones to discourage cutting in line. Roll up, park your car, and fill up on some cheap gas. The prices at Costco are typically the lowest in town and if you have a Citi Card you can take advantage of the added cash back rewards when filling up. The gas station is often kept clean and I haven't had any issues filling up. There is always an attendant walking around and making sure everything is proper. No complaints here. This is Costco, so of course there is going to be a line and it will be crowded. Depending on the time of day you go there might be a long line. The line can be quite long. If I could rate this a zero I would. I was just at the gas station and while putting fuel in my car I was allowed to listen to hard rap music. While I am all about freedom of speech there is a time and place for the music that was being play. A song repeating F**k Donald Trump is hardly appropriate for the work place. The lines are normally pretty long so you end up waiting for a few minutes to upwards of 15 depending on the day/time you come here. Goes without saying but you do need to be a Costco member and you are required to swipe your card at the pump. They expanded not too long ago, which led to the left side having 3 pumps.
