Gayle was driving me to RNO and since she would have my car for the week, I wanted to make sure she had a full tank of gas to start. So I did a quick exit off the Mount Rose Highway (going the other way) and stopped here for gas. First Observation - You can get here off the roundabout, but where is not obvious the first time. We missed it and ended up doing a U turn further down the street. Observation #2 - Compared to Carson City prices, we were surprised that it's a little more expensive up in Reno. #3 - Fill up was fast and easy and getting out of here was a lot simpler than finding our way in. read more

I usually will stop at this Maverick if I am in dire need of fuel for my vehicle. It is a little bit higher priced probably because it's convenience. I usually get fuel/gasoline at Costco in Reno or Carson preferably in Carson City. Since it is so much cheaper in Carson, I usually get it on my way down the hill and Carson. Ok I know some of you may not want to believe this but the true is in the flavor. I enjoy pizza from time to time so while in paying for my gasoline I noticed the food court in the store. Unbelievable hot large slices of pepperoni pizza , these are large slices....so going against my no gas station food rule .... I bought a slice WOW it was absolutely delicious . I have nothing bad to say about Maveriks. Each location has always been pristine clean, fully stocked and I 9 times out of 10 will use the self check outs. Normally Maverik is my first stop on the weekday mornings and I'll either grab a cup of coffee and/or a burrito The Coffee: I love getting the grind your own, add your own cream and sugar. Prices are super affordable and I think the coffee tastes better than Across the country chain coffees. You're in and out with your 5 star cup of coffee made exactly how you want it, in like 5 minutes. The burritos: My favorite is the Moab, mother of all burritos. It's chock full of egg and meats and cheese. So delicious and for $7? STEAL OF A DEAL. This location in particular: It's at the base of Geiger Grade, so it's frequently a meeting spot for friends and I when we want to head up to Virginia City together, or head to Carson. The lot is big enough that we can meet off on the side and not impair the patrons needing gas or needing to go into Maverik itself for coffee or food or restroom usage. read more

Most of the time Maverik is an okay spot. It's so close to my house that I walk here on the weekends when I don't want to make coffee. The women who work here are okay with me paying in spare change. I usually have pocket full of coins that I want to get rid of. My medium coffee is exactly $2.15. This Maverik is always busy, people in and out all day. Definitely happy it's nearby. read more

Was car shopping for my 17-year-old, ran across this maverick's. Was craving some Brazilian/Sumatran coffee and I really like Mavericks coffee. This Maverik's set up like all the others, so it was nice to be familiar with where everything is. Kids also got $.99 drinks. And a couple of breakfast burritos for four dollars. The cashier was quite friendly. We talked about some of the other Mavericks that have the bonfire grill. This does not have the bonfire grill... This morning I tried 3 different gas pumps and couldn't get gas! Not sure what was going on but other people had the same issue.

No I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that as crazy as it may seem, Maverick has some darn good coffee. No. This ain't no single origin barista bs (which I really enjoy), but it tastes like someone who cared about the product chose the blends, and I enjoyed it quite a bit. But coffee here is a full on freaking experience. Yes. They still have pots of various coffees to fill your cup, but if you've got a few extra minutes, they also offer these super cool machines that grind the beans and freshly brew the cup of your size. Let me tell you, this made all the difference. And the price? Crazy. $3 for the biggest cup. I'm impressed. read more

Maverick promotes their Nitro card yet fails to deliver on every level. After following their instructions setting up this card with my bank account the card keeps getting declined at the pump. After 5 attempts and speaking on the phone with customer reps that can barely speak English I have asked to delete the card from my account. In the modern age of setting it up to withdraw immediately they say it will take several days. Their business model is shit when it comes to real customer service. I once tried their non-ethanol fuel and it dumped onto the ground because the pump was not working properly. When I showed the manager he blamed my car for the issue. I contacted the NV weights and measurements and they checked the pumped and tagged it for failure to comply with safety standards. Also, none of their gas fuels are rated "top tier" so be careful. Some vehicle manufacturers specifically state using "top tier" fuel and you're looking at expensive repairs if you don't. Don't waste your time on the pretty facade. They're low grade fuel and crap customer support and products warrant a pass on their business. read more

Adventure begins here, y'all! That is the Maverik motto, and I love that outdoorsy-ness is a consistent theme of this gas station. Outdoors stuff is painted on the pillars outside and there's a frickin' kayak over the milkshake machine! Mind you, to get four stars from me, a gas station needs to be convenient, clean, and have a good alcohol selection. This Maverik goes above and beyond in having friendly employees and a fantastic fresh and packaged food selection. Gas is relatively inexpensive, and even cheaper if one has a Nitro loyalty debit card. The parking lot is spacious, and I've never had to wait for a pump. No fear of being trapped at a pump here! The food and alcohol part of this gas station is great. Maverik has a well-stocked beer fridge and chilled whites and usually one cheapo bubbly. I've never looked for reds here, come to think of it, but I suspect they would have some. The donuts are tasty, and if the Son of the Beast sandwich had a croissant rather than a donut as the "bread," I'd be all over it. The employees are always really friendly, regardless of whether it's a 11 pm alc run or a 5:30 am drive o' shame coffee and donuts and bathroom outing. There are two nice picnic table areas on either side of the building that I've seen people use, and I also kinda love that it's the place that very young teenagers from Curti Ranch walk to with their allowance money. Gas station? Yes. Excellent gas station? Yes. Gas price was fair for the area but the best part - the food. The food you say? I know. Shocking. First off - they have a f'real milkshake / smoothie machine. I became a fan of these at Wawa gas stations on the east coast. So nice to find them here. You basically grab a flavor from the fridge/freezer - mango smoothies, mint chocolate chip milkshakes, coffee (with ACTUAL coffee not just coffee flavoring) - and place it in the blender. Choose the thickness and minutes later you are slurping up goodness! As far as snacks - plenty to choose from. Warm food like pizzas, burritos and mini tacos. Also donuts, lunchables, etc. Standard, yes? Extra points for having a toppings and sauce area for the items purchased there - including a pretty tasty pico de gallo I topped my mini tacos with. The gas pump are was well stocked with windshield cleaning squeegees and soap as well as paper towels. They also have the good nozzles that make filling a motorcycle up quite easy. The restroom was also quite clean. Not the typical gas station restroom. Seemed as if it was inspected and cleaned quite frequently. This is a great chain and a great location. Today my husband asked me if I can stop and grab some beer for him and his buddy on my way home from the movie theater, little did I know I would be met with the worst customer service I have experienced in quite some time. The cashier with the red hair, stared at me like I knew what she was thinking until I brought out my ID to show her (I was with my two kids and the oldest is 10). I was also born in 1989. She didn't say anything after and proceeded to death stare at me until I tried my credit card. Then she said her first word, very demanding, and instructed me to move my items over to the left side of the counter to make it easier for her to scan. I input my credit card and I wasn't sure if it was done processing and when I asked her she just looked at me and said it's done. No thank you, have a nice day, bye, anything! My kids were well behaved and she treated us like absolute garbage. We will Never come back to this maverick and make sure anyone we know does the same! I was so upset leaving. read more

I've got gas... Facilities are usually reasonably clean. Pricing is relatively competitive. Be sure you get your Mavrick card, so that you can save a couple cents per gallon. You can also get points on your card redeemable for swag and contests. Occasionally one of the pumps will not be working, and the rest will be packed with people. Ice is cheap, but seems to be packaged on site, with tapwater based on the taste. Overall decent experience for a gas station. read more

Every time I go to any Maverik gas station several pumps are down. It's either the pump isn't working or the ATM part isn't working.

This is the kind of gas station you want to find on a road trip. They have an entire wall of fridges with beverages. They have 6 different icee type beverages. They just installed a new soda fountain that allows you to mix different flavor syrups into your favorite brand of soda. They have a f'real milkshake machine. They have snacks, candy, and any road side item you might need close at hand. They even have the cleanest bathrooms I've ever found in a gas station EVER! This place has it ALL in a nice, clean, well kept store. It is a haven you want all gas stations to be when you stop in for munchies on a road trip and just happen to need to use the bathroom and then you know, maybe even get gas too! I wish these were found everywhere I need to drive because I love this place that much! read more

Usually, working outside in Reno places you in proximity to shithole, or shithouse gas stations to fulfill your cravings for Lay's potato chips and fountain Coca-Cola. However, I currently have the pleasure of this Maverick station from the job site. Like a slightly faraway beacon of hope, my crew and I have visited periodically as our stomachs have requested. A solid five star review goes mainly to their stocking of Lay's brand chips and a baller soda and slushie station. I didn't realize cookie dough was now an acceptable lunch option, either. The bathrooms are extraordinarily clean...in fact, the whole store is. Until I am poisoned by fountain soda, or at the point which point this work project ends, I will be happy to be their patron. Busy establishment at times but what a great location with minimal parking spots in front of the store but the property itself is fairly large so you can usually find parking in other areas... For being a fairly new location though, they seem to have a lot of problems with several pumps not working at any given time and stay broken for long lengths of time before they are fixed. On many occassions, we have seen others drive away because of the wait times and I'm guessing this was partially due to the pumps not working. The do have desiel fuel at this location and they also have a high roof over the pumps which might easily accomodate desiel pushers. This facility does have clean restrooms and a wide variety of convenient store items and not to mention; pretty good coffee! read more

Whenever I have the choice, I always choose Maverik. Their stores are clean, employees are friendly, soft drink selection is impressive (Coke AND Pepsi). They even have two sizes of ice cubes! Now that cooler weather is approaching I will enjoy their coffees and cappuccinos with their great selection of flavored creamers. I frequently pick up a sandwich for lunch. They usually have a selection of ham, turkey, passtrami,and Italian subs. Sandwiches come with a variety of cheeses and 3 different types of bread. They also have a selection of hot foods like pizzas and bundles and hot dogs. Use your Nitro card and get at least 6 cents off per gallon of gas. I have gotten as much as 15 cents off because they match the lowest price in the area. I never have to hunt for the cheapest gas because I know I will get it at Maverik. read more

Maverick gas stations are the way to go over most other gas stations. But this one in particular is awful compared to the other around Reno and Sparks. It's constantly full, not enough gas pumps, always always short on staff the rate it takes them to fix their gas pumps is absurd. I'd say for the past two months 7 out of the 10 pumps have been out of order and the pumps that do work have the card reader disabled so you have to go inside and wait in the terrible long line because they have 1 employee working at the multiple cash register checkout. I'd go to another one but i'm told by my company to get gas at this location each day. read more

If I have the munchies I fancy maverick over 7-11, they are both equal distance from my house, but maverick has a much better selection, by far. The employees have always been nice to me and since they've opened they've actually had very little turnover. Ultimately I don't go I there to find a friend or have long conversations, but either way I'm completely satisfied with their customer service, selection and gas prices. read more

The pump wasn't working so I went inside where the guy behind the register could figure out how to get it to work by charging my card inside the store. The manager came over with a really sour attitude and when it didn't work she just said sorry you'll have to go somewhere else. She was rude and very unhelpful. I go to this maverick almost everyday before work and I didnt catch her name but theres an older blonde lady with glasses that works in the mornings. I've noticed a few times that's she seems pretty stressed out in the rush of the morning, especially with all of the construction across the street. Maybe she was having a bad day and I'm not out to ruin her life but I gave her a hundred dollar bill to pay for my lunch and she was extremely rude and tried making me feel like an idiot when I was just stunned that she was acting the way she was. She had to get change from another register and she gave me five twentys back without even telling me what was going on she pulled the money out of my hand, counted it again and asked me if I understood what was going on. So I gave her a twenty and as she was getting my change she realised everyone was looking and could hear her, so she tried being nice. read more

This place is a breath of fresh air! Nice, brand new building, large, and so on! Very large selection of drinks/sodas, snacks, lunch, etc. there are even covered pick nic tables out side which make it nice to stop in for lunch. There are a LOT more gas pumps that the old 7-eleven so you don't have to wait in line to get gas because some idiot "parked" their car in front of the gas pumps! read more

I've gotten gas here a few times since it opened. It's right down the street from my house and convenient. Today, though, I had a terrible interaction with an employee there. She came out yelling at me as I was swiping my card to get gas. Apparently I had taken someone's pump who had prepaid. There was no way of knowing this as usually cars are parked at the pump before they prepay. I said ok but I had already swiped my card. Rather than respond she stomped away and started talking about me to the other person saying "Yeah, she just totally cut you off!" I told her that I could hear her and that that was very rude. She ignored me, went into the building, and about two minutes later came out and did the exact same thing to someone else who had "stolen" this person's pump. Again, no way of knowing. She was ridiculously rude. I was standing there paying money to get gas at this business and she was yelling at me. I don't think I'll be returning if she is still around. read more

They raised the prices of gas more than 20 cents overnight. This wasn't in response to oil prices because the other gas stations are much cheaper. I believe they were offering low prices as a teaser rate and then jacked them up once people became accustomed to their location. I live close but will be happy to drive further to find better prices. Please go to 7-11 or anywhere else because they are much cheaper. We aren't dumb consumers. read more

I really would like to give this place a better rating, because it used to be a really good place, but recently it has gone downhill, and soon might have to take another star off. The gas prices are ok, if you absolutely need gas while you are in the neighborhood, then it is better than the other nearby places, but you can almost always find cheaper gas in town at ARCO (which is top tier certified to boot, something Maverik isn't). They used to have some of the cheapest gas in town (sometimes even beating Sams Club and Costco), but I guess those days are gone. The store itself though is where the biggest changes have happened. The frozen yogurt machines have been out of order for months now, apparently this is because corporate wants to do away with frozen yogurt and replace it with iced coffee, but they haven't gotten the equipment yet for their iced coffee machine, so for now, it's just a broken down machine with a "it's busted, we're on it" sticker (yeah, you get on that, better a few months late than never). This isn't the only issue that management seems to have allowed to slip through the cracks, the store almost always feels short staffed during the busy times. I've actually heard a cashier and a kitchen person having a rather vocal argument over which department an employee who was just clocking in needed to help first, and I hate to say it, but both of them had really good points... something a customer really shouldn't be saying if a store was properly staffed. Stock outs are also becoming something of an issue... the last few times I've gone in for movie candy (I love the movie size Sweattarts, they are one of my few vices), they've been out, because, well, the sale was more successful than they anticipated. I've seen different flavors of chips sold out, different candies sold out, I've even gone in and they had run out of lids for the fountain drinks and were using Icee lids as "just as good". I haven't even touched on the fact that the restrooms, which always used to be pretty clean and now a bit of a russian roulette game on whether or not they will be clean, at times out of even the basics like toilet paper or hand soap. I really would like this place to do better, a lot of the staff I've interacted with have been nice enough people, but if the store keeps going downhill like it is, I might just go back to going to 7-11 for when I want quick junk food and a soda for movie night. read more
