Gas is my biggest expense with traveling and I'm always looking for ways to shave off some cost. Costco does a pretty good job most of the time as the gas prices are subsidized by the Costco membership. As well, they run their gas stations pretty thin. There aren't squeegees or car washes or even air pumps at the fueling area. They only have two flavors of fuel - regular and premium. No diesel at this location. It was easy to queue up, fill up and be on my way saving a bit in the process. Note that unless you've got a big vehicle, you can use the pump on either side of your car! The hoses will stretch. We did not go into the warehouse today and I know that if I add the gas station to Yelp, even though they have different hours, Yelp will merge them. So here we are. I love Costco, but, I have to say the A T & T people in there, LIE LIE LIE LIE LIE. do not use the A T & T at Costco. "free" phone is a LIE. they charged me $1090 for my "free" phone. and the help line that I called into about this lied too. Costco should boot out the A T & T kiosk as they are liars. The Costco is Knoxville is quite different than my neighborhood Costco due to the layout and the offerings. This is one of my favorite things about Costco, seeing offerings that are not offered in other locations. Seeing all the University of Tennessee apparel was super cool, and I really liked the men's dress shirts. There were a lot more offerings of men's dress shirts than my Costco. The lobster tails was also something you can't find in my Costco. The men's watches was not great nor were the pet furniture options but overall the staff was nice and it wasn't as chaotic as some has said before we entered. read more

I dropped my membership to this club after years because they have oversold memberships by a HUGE percentage. Translations = Almost always over crowded, parking is awful (worsened with "entitled" Farragut customers wanting to socialize for abusively LOOOOONG periods of time during & after loading their cars) totally insensitive to others trying to park in an overflowing parking lot. COSTCO, IF YOU OVER SELL MEMBERSHIPS, YOU SHOULD (TO BE AT LEAST FAIR) THEN, REBATE MEMBERSHIP FEES IN PROPORTION TO YOUR OVERSOLD STORE CROWD OR OPEN ANOTHER LOCATION!!! Would not recommend buying produce from here. They freeze everything and put it out on the shelves to thaw. It takes about 1 day for everything to go bad. The day after I went shopping, my broccoli was slime and all of my fruit was mush. This is not a one time situation, it is literally every time I shop there. This Costco is located in a very busy part of Farragut; getting in and out of the area is a drag and these locals aren't very friendly. It's a full size Costco Wholesale with a gas station serving the west side of Knoxville. Gas prices are cheaper than in Alabama so there's that. I went back-and-forth on this recommendation. I shop at Costco a lot. I used to buy expensive products there, refrigerators, tires, etc. But they're way too busy now. I tried to buy a $2200 refrigerator a few months back. They were making me Input what I wanted online and their online purchasing screen just wouldn't work. I gave up and went to Lowe's and bought it there instead. Much easier process, more polite, employees, and barely paying anything more. Costco, however, they have no problem having extra employees check to make certain you haven't absconded with something when you leave. We love Costco. This one is great. Everyone working there always seems so pleasant. They have everything there. Price per item is almost always better than other places. We get the bulk of our staples here. If there is something my husband eats that the rest of us don't we get it somewhere else but otherwise Costco is a go to. We don't only buy food here... our couches are from here, the table behind our couch, clothes, shoes, squishmallows, etc. Costco is the best and this one is more pleasant than others because the staff is so nice and it's well lit. Today I had an appointment for a routine tire balance and rotation. I had previously been told it would be a 30-45 minute wait. The last time I was there for the same service, it was about 30 minutes. When I checked in today, they asked for my phone number. I told them it's on file and that I would be waiting on the bench because it would be a short wait. China and another two male employees said it would be more like a 60-90 minute...likely 90 minutes. So, I asked them what's the point of making an appointment if I'm going to wait 90 minutes for a job that takes 15-20 minutes? China responded with "the point is you're going to wait no more than 90 minutes as opposed to having no appointment, leaving the vehicle, and then getting a call some time during the day that your car is ready." I drove 22 miles one-way for this appointment but anticipating it would be a 45-minute job max, I had to leave to ensure I could pick my son from school. I've purchased tires from Costco for the past 15-20 years. Two years ago, I purchased my tires from Discount Tire because they had the tires I needed in stock. Every time I come in to have the rotation and balance done, with an appointment, they pull the vehicle in w/in 5 minutes and complete the work w/in 20 minutes. Yes, I paid $20-$30 more per tire but the service is impeccable. I'm treated with courtesy and respect. If you're considering purchasing tires, check with Discount Tires. You may pay a few more dollars per tire but you'll have access to a robust, nationwide chain of tire shops that will be courteous but most importantly, respectful of your time. read more

Moved to the area from out of state. We were frequent bj wholesale members because our local sams club closed and Costco was too far. Now we are closer to a Costco and we are missing our bjs we opted to get a membership. The employees were very nice and not pushy to upgrade which I found refreshing. She gave us all the information and let us decide. We saw they had furniture for sale this week.. so we decided to go check it out. We ended up buying a sectional for a really good price. My husband ended up lifting it, putting it on the cart and bringing it to the cashier. When he went to load said furniture into our truck we had an employee offer his help unprompted. This location appears to be older and not well-organized. It was crowded when we visited. The staff were constantly blocking aisles and restocking. This should not be done midday on a Saturday in my opinion. Parking is limited and disappointing. The selection of products is reasonable, but nothing special. Everything is very expensive! I was shocked how much higher it was than our local Sam's Club. The location needs a makeover from the store layout to the bathrooms. The checkouts are so crowded and too close together. We always use scan and go at Sam's. The cashier assistant reprimanded us for unloading our cart. Not sure what the protocol is supposed to be. Today my husband went to Costco as an uber driver, he went in the store for a list of items. It listed 4 bins , but the cashier was distracted by talking to another person and only rang up 3 bins . When he got to the door to leave ,they stopped him and wouldn't let him leave with the extra bin since the cashier rang it up wrong. He explained if they could fix the issue and take responsibility and accountability for the cashier's mistake and he said, "no, I cannot let you leave with four bins , since they one rang up three." He wouldn't even talk to the cashier about their mistake. Then the associate at the door said that he would deactivate my husband's account due to their mistake. Very rude and unprofessional. My husband had also tried applying to a job at the auto center and was automatically turned away, they are unprofessional and think they are above everyone because they are a grocery store. read more

You can almost buy everything that you needed here. The quantities are huge so it's probably better for families. Pros: -Gas. Their gas is usually the cheapest in town. -Big-ticket items. If you also have the 2% executive reward or Costco Visa card, you can save a lot of money. -Costco travel. Their hotel prices at the big cities are usually cheaper than others. Plus, if you have the 2% (executive) or 3% (Costco visa) rewards, that will be even cheaper. -Organic products. They are usually cheaper than other stores. Cons: -Only purchases made by the primary executive card holder will get the 2% reward. Unless you have the Costco credit card. -It always crowded. It's really really crowded during the weekend. -The expiration date on their products sometime are shorter than other places. Make sure you can finish the big package before it expired. As a married couple this rule is absolutely silly. Who's to say we only have one credit card that's in my name and my wife is the primary Costco card holder? After today I get it, I will need to show my card if I pay. There are literally a thousand ways to say what you said and not be offended because I didn't understand and needed clarity. I live 30 minutes away - and it is worth the drive to visit Costco! So many great deals. I've especially liked how they've handled the pandemic: everyone is required to wear a mask or face covering, they have a list of all the products they are out of (so you're not disappointed). In the beginning they used to limit the number of people who could go in the store - but that led to long lines outside. I would highly recommend visiting during the weekdays if you can. The weekends are incredibly busy - on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon nearly every space is full in the parking lot. Not only is it packed - which makes me think it's a COVID hotspot, even with masks - which we know not everyone wears correctly - but it's also just frustrating trying to move around the store. Favorite thing about Costco? (This won't surprise anyone) the rotisserie chicken! Finally - just a tip: not everything's a deal just because it's in bulk. Well stocked clean restrooms have hot water & soap with hand towels & hot air dryers. We ate first, and the hot dog & pepperoni pizza were good & inexpensive. When we entered the store we got Lysol wipes (from the "last one in the store!") from the friendly gentleman at the door checking membership cards. We got 3 packs of Kirkland water & a huge bag of pistachios. They were out of paper towels & toilet paper (as well as wipes). At the self-serve checkout (so fast!), a sign was posted showing restrictions on items that people are hoarding during this COVID-19 outbreak (only 2 of wipes, paper towels, Deerpark water (huh??), and other essential items or what some folks think are essential items). For the hoards of shopper present, no tempers flared and personnel were friendly, instructive, and SUPER efficient! This wasn't our first visit, and we'll continue to shop here when we are nearby. read more

The Costco on County Line Road, near Greenwood consistently on point with service and selection. It's just not for paper products. Values in fresh meats and seafoods are always available. We appreciate the wide variety of fresh made entrees, especially the chicken pot pie and stuffed peppers. We find values on wine and spirits to be unmatched. I love using the Gas Buddy a app to find the cheapest gas in the area and it is ALWAYS Costco. We had gotten rid of our membership prior to moving to TN but the differences in gas prices between Costco and competitors was significant enough that we renewed ASAP. Lines can get pretty long but it helps that their hoses can stretch to either side of your car, regardless of where your tank opening is. There is always an attendant wandering around to assist, too. The only negative (if I'm nitpicking) is that I often have to scan my membership card multiple times for the pump to read it. read more

Well gas is cheap in Tenn compared to California's prices. $1.62 vs $3.29. But at least you know you are getting clean gasoline for your vehicle. The pumps are clean and can stretch over if you parked on the wrong side. Payment is even easier if paying with a Costco credit card. Just tap and start pumping. When we went midday, we did not experience any long waiting lines. Just a few people who didn't know how to use the new payment system. read more

We shopped here today. We are so excited that they are giving samples out again and put their tables back out. It has been a while since we have eaten a hot dog at Costco. Overall I didn't see anything really different from Sam's Club, in most items I looked at, Sam's actually had better pricing. I've heard people brag about their Kirkland brand wine, and their meats, and their meats did look better than Sam's but that was the only thing. Not to mention that parking lot is a hazard in itself. And people kept bumping into me, like hello people we are in the middle of a pandemic called COVID-19, so back the heck off and give me my 6 feet, lol, but seriously.
