I love Costco. I cannot think of a single purchase I have ever gotten where I've had buyer's remorse. Love their glasses-best deal in town! I have bought cameras, a variety of electronics, tickets, clothes, gifts, food, houseware, & ready made meals. They essentially catered my daughter's wedding & it's where we got her flowers. Easy returns-even smiling & giving my money back on a sweater I bought & "lost" after I found it months later (it had slid under the front seat of my car). I love my Lacey COSTCO. Besides the cost savings,they treat their customers well and the products are well displayed. My wife and I go there often, sometimes just to pickup one thing because its a nice place to shop. The checkout speed puts other big chains to shame. I mean, there can be someone with 60 items and you'll be helped next in less than a minute. The employees actually smile at you too, which is amazing these days. Other pluses: Costco auto buying program, gas, and food court is great. read more

The employees here are disrespectful, rude, and unprofessional. The last 4 times I visited the lacey Costco one employee tried to yell at my 2 year old to get out of his way, to which I promptly called a manager. Another occasion I wanted to change my membership level and the employee argued with me, demanding that I keep my executive membership, and today was the last straw. Upon having our reciept checked, one woman was extremely rude to my mom and said, "hey have you been checked yet?" In a very disrespectful tone, to which I replied, "yes she's with me." Instead of addressing me, she told the other employee who had checked our receipt but she needs to check my bag ( diaper bag). I told get that was fine and the employee proceeded to open my bag while it was on my back. She did not even have the decency to let me turn around and open the bag for her. SHE UNZIPPED MY BAG WHILE I WAS WEARING IT AND HADNT EVEN TURNES AROUND. WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS COSTCO??? this employee should be fired! Our family and friends will be coming in to cancel all of our memberships. Each time I informed the manager, and they shrugged and apologized. Stop hiring terrible people! read more

This review is only for the optical department. Not the people in it because they are great. But, the quality control for the lens manufacturer needs to be addressed. Twice in the last decade (once in the Tumwater store...this time Lacey) the lenses from the prescription were grossly wrong. The first was an issue with the wrong angle on the bifocal and lens placement in the frame. This time the lens was not ground to the right prescription! In both instances I was provided a refund because of their error. I didn't want to reuse their vendor who provides the lenses. The local department has a machine to test the prescription and confirmed the error. It seems to me there should be a final quality check to match the final product to the prescription in the vendors manufacturing process. But, evidently there isn't. They rely upon the customer to catch any errors. Which is a serious issue for an adult but how is a child even supposed to know? Fool me once and it's forgivable. Fool me twice and I'll take my optical business elsewhere. Overall I love Costco but optical quality needs serious attention. read more

My favorite Costco will always be Tumwater and has always been in Tumwater. I have had nothing but mediocre experiences at this Lacey location. The worst experience was receiving a public humiliating from the man working there with an eye patch. I was stopping by to do some shopping and I had to use the bathroom very badly. I had my Costco card displayed as I walked in the door with the Membership desk. He yelled at me to stop and told me I couldn't enter through that door. I let him know I had to use the bathroom and I was going to be doing some shopping. I then proceeded towards the bathroom and he yelled, got some other employees involved to block me from proceeding toward the bathroom and berated me about not listening. "'Ma'am, you're not listening to me!". I then turned around and quickly darted in the entrance as fast as I could so I could reach the bathroom in time. Rude, embarrassing, and horrible. I will never go back to this Costco. read more

Costco is costco - you know what to expect - and its why you go there. 5 gallon jugs of whatever you want. and i have no grief with that. i used to like popping in and picking up one or two items and zipping out thru the self-checkout lines. but they took them out - now to get an item or two, you have to wait in line with families buying cart-loads of food. so now its over to Safeway, get the items i want, and be home, before id even get to the register at Costco. getting rid of the self-checkout was a really stupid idea. read more

I feel I need to update my review based on the last few times I have been in this location. I usually hit Costco on weekday mornings, at or a little bit after opening so they are not super busy. In spite of this the lines at the registers are LONG. Today I hit the checkout around 10.30am and was #6 in line with only two registers open, the other register had an equally long line. The line was so long that people with carts were backed up into the merchandise aisles blocking movement to the other open register. I expect long lines on weekends but if the checkout process is going to take so long I will not be visiting this location in the future. It is doubly angering because they have adequate staff already on the clock but they are busy doing other things, plus there is a manager who is in plain sight of the long lines but they do nothing. Just open up more registers please. How about having the helper that puts the purchase back in your cart open up their own register? read more

We get almost all of our groceries here. And since it is in such a central location we can do it while running all of our other errands. I've had nothing but great service and speedy checkouts. For a while getting gas there was a pain because it was under construction, but now that it's done it looks very nice and it is very convenient and quick to get low prices on fuel. read more

My wife and 2 year old child had a flat driving down I-5 to Portland. Tire light indicator came as we neared Lacey. I remembered that Costco Lacey was a couple of exits away. We called Costco tires to verify they were still opened til 8:30pm. We pulled in right at 8pm (30 min before closing). Front right tire was completely flat by arrival. No other cars were in the bay being serviced and had 3-4 workers standing around. They said they can't do anything but would put on our spare for us. "I could have done that myself." The tire was repairable because I've worked on tires myself and I have ASE certified mechanics in our family and I have literally patched a flat myself in about 15 minutes. It was obvious they didn't want to work 30 minutes before closing and I even said I would pay for a brand new set of tires just to have the safety and security of driving on the road getting to our destination. Our car is a very common car but they gave an excuse that they would not have the tire size without even checking the system or warehouse, which is like 5 steps away with 4 dudes standing around. They sent us on our way with our spare on and we drove very slow to our destination in Portland that night. I ended up purchasing a new set of tires at Les Schwab the next day. We have been members of Coscto for many years. Because I am a relational person, the biggest issue is that they showed no sense of care that my family had to drive in the rainy night another 2 hours. These are the moments that truly matter for a company that prides itself on service and even the website says that "Walk-in business accepted and encouraged". The fact this ones laid out 'backwards' kind of gets to me but it doesn't really matter. Not too crowded, at least when I've been there. Also haven't run into the pushy impatient mean-spirited jerks (certain other shoppers) that I have run into at some locations. read more

I am a fan of Costco because they realize that they need to treat their employees as part of their team. That is, I hope that they continue on in the spirit of making their store employee friendly and a working wage with benefits. At least once a week we go there, if not for shopping, for lunch. Still only 1.50 for a dog and soda, 2 bucks for a piece of pizza, you can't beat it. Only bummer is my dog treats aren't being carried anymore, they are hooked on them read more

Tire shop is 1st rate, battery prices lower than anyone else. Appetizers are fantastic, and where else can you get a meal for a 1.50? Hard decision between the hot dog, polish, or the 3 different pizzas, decide at the counter each time :) read more

This is mainly about the photo center. I experienced a humiliating & very hurtful event today. The main reason I went to Costco was because I wanted to turn my family video into a DVD. The man working there was a white elderly man with glasses. I waited for about 15 minutes & not once did he ever acknowledge my existence. Finally, when it was my turn he acknowledged a women behind me. He didn't say anything to me but to wait. I was getting a little ticked off at this point because I was waiting for about 20 mins now. When it's finally my turn he just asks what I want & pointed to me at a computer. I've been to numerous Costco photo centers & the employees were very helpful. He just left me at the computer without helping me & went to another customer. What was hurtful was every other customer was Caucasian (I'm obviously not) & they were priority before me which was hurtful. At that moment I felt little & not even a person. I just wanted to write this review to get this off my chest. I contacted customer service & the manager did listen to what happened which I'm thankful for. However, the employee needs to be aware that his actions were rude & unacceptable. Never coming back to this location again. read more
