I was in Costco with my son who was home on leave for Thanksgiving, I can not tell you all enough about Willie in the meat dept. This man was so helpful, patient and kind. Willie actually stopped working in his department to come over to help us buy Alaskan crab legs in the center of the store. During this current virus outbreak and all the craziness going on, this Costco really stepped up and has done everything to make sure their costumers needs are met safely. They are practicing social distancing by letting in a group of people at a time. They wipe the carts down. They announce to the organized line of people waiting outside what objects are sold out. Employees are wearing gloves and everything seems to be sanitized. Just thankful for the hardworking people at Costco for staying open and for working so hard to make sure people get their things safely. read more

Best corporation in this country. They are all about customer service and they never take a step backwards only forward. Their customer focus is unparalleled. This is for the Optical center: It can really be stressful finding specialty doctors in the city (impossible hours, long waits, careless employees), so I tried Costco's independent eyecare doc in Melville. I was seen precisely at my apt hour, the woman working there (who I'd overheard has been there nearly 2 decades) was welcoming and warm, the exam was thorough yet quick, and the price was great. Ordered an item from Costco online and had many issues with the delivery and refund. I waited two separate times for our tv to be delivered which never showed up and when I called they told me the item was still at the warehouse. Then we were directed to reorder the item because it may have gotten lost and then the following day the order was cancelled. I've been charged and spoken to three different Costco representatives regarding a refund. It's been two weeks and I have not received my refund back. I am very disappointed and frustrated with Costco and will never order another item from them through their website again. read more

Im writing this review for my mother and soon to be stepfather. To start, my parents are members to this Cosco, and every week they go in and spend closer to $1k. My stepfather recently had hip and knee surgery so he was in a handicapped scooter for this specific trip. He'd been wanting to take my mother in to look at engagement rings for over a month now and finally - together they went in this saturday 7/10 betw 5-6pm. They went straight to the jewelery counter as he's looking to buy an engagement ring. My mom and i had been in prior and she priced 3 rings. The first $18k, the second $12k and the final is around $7k. Unbeknownst to her i took pics of the rings she chose. They get to the jewelry counter - wait for a manager to come open the case; who was dry and sat there and stared at them as if they were going to run off w the ring (meanwhile hes in a handicapped scooter) and the other associate was not personable, did not interact w/ them and showed no interest in making what could have been a very BIG sale. My mother eventually got turned off while my future step-dad was ready to make a purchase whom btw - is well off financially !!! Our complaint is that Costco's manager and sales associate were both impersonable, uninterested and clearly not helpful in what should be a precious moment. I reccomended they go to a real jewler that is professional, interested and ready to make a BIG sale. And that they will be doing today. Some may say why Costco for an engagement ring - well my parents like convenience and being that he had hip and knee surgery, its easier for him to use his scooter in a larger department store. Got tires early March. A few days ago got a nail in my tire on the side. Went in expecting to have to pay for a new tire and they honored the road hazard warranty and replaced it 100% no cost out of pocket. Alex the manager of the tire center and Jerry were complete gentleman and very helpful. I will never buy tires anywhere else besides Costco from now on. read more

Usually, the service here is good. Recently, though, they opened self-checkout. The attendant manning the self-checkout approached me as I walked up to let me know that she was going to scan the water in my cart, for me. I obliged. Then she proceeded to lean over my shoulder behind as I scanned the remaining 3 items in my cart... I felt so embarrassed and annoyed. If you are going to hover over people to ensure that they scan all their items, please do so in a way that does make the customer feel criminal... she could have just offered to scan the remaining items for me since there were only 3 small items left, outside of my 4 cases of water. After a long, stressful day at work, no one wants to have this kind of experience running in to grab a few items before dinner. read more

I really LOVE shopping here! I've been a Costco member since 1991, and I buy most of my food here, (among many other things, such as household items, etc.) The quality is usually exceptional. Will you spend a lot of money? Maybe - but the things you buy are a larger size or quantity, so it will last you a much longer time. In the end, it's very cost effective. As of June 2016, VISA is the only credit card accepted. No more AMEX. You can also pay with any debit card, check or cash. Costco stores also have an ATM on their premises. read more

Costco is weird; are you saving money, are you not saving money, I've come to the conclusion it totally depends what you buy. For example, there is this mug set and every single time I walk past it I want it because they are a unique pastel color and the mugs are $2 each! You get a set of $6 for $12.99, you cannot beat that. However, when you have a mug cabinet and it's already overflowing with mugs that cost you around $12 each you realize you don't need these mugs and keep walking. So, like I said, certain things are a great deal here. My family has always been a fan of the sheet cakes for large parties, custom made, huge and they don't taste half bad. When I was a kid I used to tolerate coming here solely because of the people on the end of the aisles with food samples, however I have noticed they don't do that anymore, so good luck bringing your kids here. This place is good for televisions, buying things in bulk for the convenience but maybe not necessarily for the price. You have to be careful and really look at the price tags here. Ultimately if you are shopping for a big event and you don't care that you may be spending more money but at least you're getting what you need in bulk, then definitely come here. The lines can be insane, but they move fairly quickly, especially considering that items are not bagged. Also be alert in the parking lot, mad house. Mad house. read more

I love coming to Costco. They have great products, their prices are competitive, the customer service is impeccable and their return policy is unbeatable. I am never concerned about buying products at Costco because I know that they will always stand behind a product. They are always providing many samples so it can effectively be lunch. I visit here bi monthly. The selections vary and are all newer versions of (electronics, etc). Oftentimes there are samples throughout the store.They have fresh fish (shrimp, salmon) but more importantly they have organic, grass fed beef and chicken. BAKERY- not professionally staffed as Arlene was short and abrupt to my friend. My friend went to take 2 pkg of bakery muffins and couldn't reach the flavor she preferred and ARLENE began to be insulting and unprofessional. Instead of assisting her obtain her muffins she wasn't helpful. The rest of the store is sufficient. Lines are less at early hours and end of day.Parking is ample. Credit cards only if you are a member otherwise pay with debit card. read more

Yesterday we, My Wife and my Self were shopping at Costco located on 625 Broadhollow Rd, Melville, NY 11747. After we finish we download the items behind of our car and we depart to our home in Levittown. To my surprise I found that my purse was missing and after looking all over the house and in the car, I realize that maybe I forgot at the Costco Store and hope that they will help me. Inside of the purse I have my wallet with my Debit and credit cards, my driving permit, my Health Insurance Cards, my Social Security Card, my vision lenses, my cell phone and more that $250.00 in cash. Immediately my Son took me to the store and the answer at the front customer desk was that they do not have any purse. Since was nothing else to do, I was in touch with the Banks in order to eliminate the validity of my Credit Debit and Cards, I ask on the web site for a Temporary Driver License and I accept the fact that is no more that I can do. To my wife surprise, she have a call from Costco around 11; 00 pm. and the person in the phone ask for my name, stated that they have something that was found at Costco. This morning with a lot of hope we went to Costco Store and three persons, Joanne, Amanda and the Manager Mike immediately and with a great attitude look in many different places and following information from the computer, they pick up my purse that was lock in one shelf. I express my gratitude to this remarkable and hones persons and I write this review following my sincere desire of congratulate this personal. I have been a member at Costco Melville since they opened and at Price Club in Copiague before that. I can say a lot of nice things about the people that work there and the place itself. I've spent a lot of $$$ there as a member.  Last month I had an encounter with a Front end supervisor that was so off putting that I wondered if I could continue to shop there anymore. This big and tall brawny biological female working the register at the time started barking orders at about how I needed to check out. Dissatisfied with the way she was speaking to me, I moved, without confrontation, to another line. She followed after me to tell my now cashier to make sure I checked out her way. This bullying did lead to a Manager getting involved. Mike was very nice and listened supportively. This other employees bully attitude, was not easily erased and I didn't return for more than a month...long story short, when I did return, this Front end supervisor, made her presence known to me. So now I know... If not for her, I might have shopped there another twenty years...I can't abide bully behavior in any setting. While some might agree that customer service is not what it used to be, times have also changed in that there are many more shopping options these days.  One less shopper probably doesn't mean much to Corporate and employees alike even if it means losing about 75k + over time. However, I will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

Costco just blows me away. If you want to show an immigrant what it is to be American, Costco is the place to go. I went to this place to get a folding table for the 4th of July. I walked out with a tablet PC, a v neck Calvin Klein t shirt, 3 huge bags of fresh made rolls and a gallon of Sweet Ray's barbecue sauce. I had to go back in to get the table I forgot. There is no "good" time to come here. It is ALWAYS packed. I promise. You can go to Guitar Center on the way out though and that's a plus. read more

We bought a few heavy pieces of furniture. A very nice man, Ronnie, helped us find just what we wanted. He helped us pile them onto the rolling flatbed. He also helped us get them into the van. Costco is a brick and mortar Amazon.com. Cars, furniture, clothing, travel, eyewear, appliances, prescription drugs, cell phones, jewelry, cameras, tires, books, computers ,all kinds of produce and frozen foods, beer, soda, and a thousand other items, Free samples of many food items they sell and a bunch of annoying people glomming the free samples blocking the aisle and treating the little samples like it's their lunch. You have to cart a few to get near the samples. "Oh I'm sorry was that your ankle?" Maybe if you weren't anchored by that counter stuffing your face you wouldn't get run over. Gavone. read more

I use one credit card, Discover, but the ONLY take cash, debit or AMEX, kinda sucks. Unable to locate a lot of stuff. You got to do the whole store to find everything you need. The last time I was in the Melville store was 3-17-2020. I was there around 10:15 am, I thought I would be in and out quick, boy was I wrong. There was a line about 200 feet long out the door and another 100 feet in the inside. Of course it was drizzling for most of the time we were outside, employees in the store didn't seem to care. When I finally got to the door, about 20 minutes later, they sanitized the cart right before they let each person enter, not sure what that was going to do because I had been pushing or holding the cart for the last 20 minutes. When I got inside it was not very crowded except for two very long lines for the checkout, which were the length of the store. Seems many of the checkout clerks were not there and there were only six checkouts open but plenty of supervisors watching. It was NOT a good experience and I dread going back. If its not better the next time, I will check out BJ's warehouse. read more

Signed up for Costco last year with my husband, and we knew shopping here would only really be worth it for certain items in bulk. But it really is! What I didn't expect- was to discover how fantastic the optical department is at this location. I don't have vision in my insurance plans but over the last decade my eyesight was starting to be problematic. I went from perfect vision, to needing glasses for distance slowly-over the course of about 6 years? Last fall(September 2018) I started to feel like my glasses weren't strong enough so I went to Costco after hearing that they were fairly priced for those without insurance. Not only was the doctor amazing but her office manager was as well. It was easy to make an appointment, I was seen promptly and all of my questions were answered. In September of 2019 I went back for an annual exam and decided I wanted to try contacts too! They spent an hour and a half teaching me how to insert and remove contacts, with utmost patience(because I'm truly a spaz when it comes to touching my eyes lol). Even when I was frustrated and ready to give up they encouraged me to keep trying. The first month took a lot of patience and practice, and I went back at least 3 times to tweak my prescription (the doctor and I both agreed to check in after each week to see how the prescription would work for me- I'm new to needing corrective lenses and I was definitely needy about it!) I was not charged for follow up appointments and they were professional, kind and caring throughout the entire process! Then the other part of the optical department where they sell glasses and whatnot- those people are also fantastic! They saved me money on contacts with an in store rebate and helped adjust my glasses readily. So as far as the rest of Costco goes, I don't honestly do too much shopping there BUT totally worth every penny of my membership just for the eye doctor alone! I'm also a pro now with alternating between contacts and glasses! read more

Needed a snow shovel and called the Melville Costco to see if there were any left. The person I spoke to told me there were none left. I asked if she could please check the other Costcos in the area to see if any of them had snow shovels. She said I had to call them myself. Contrast that with the Commack Costco. I called them and spoke to Dan who said that they had none left. But Dan OFFERED to check the other local Costco to see if they had any. And when they also were out of them, he checked to see if there were snow shovels on order. He could not have been nicer or more consumer-friendly. Even though I live closer to the Melville Costco, I will make it a point to go to the Costco in Commack in the future! read more

It's OK -- it's a Costco. I find their parking lot treacherous, though, due to the unusual layout. I actually got into a fender bender because someone darted into my path to grab a spot because it's so difficult to get a spot. But, the store itself is fine. The staff in the Costcos I routinely visited while n LA & Burbank were a lot nicer. Having said these things ... I let my membership expire and got one at BJ's. read more

My shopping experience at the pharmacy is the worst I've ever had. The staff is not helpful beyond taking your money. The partcription call in process to the Dr's for refills seldom get completed. The male pharmacist tonight was very rude in his speaking to me and addressed me disrespectful. And when ask why he felt he could? He continued to be rude. I think they need a class about customer service and how important customer is. We make the choice who we want to spend our money with. So go to CVS they love customers. read more
